For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

MrsC does glamorous veg.

So the broad bean thing - it has a crunchy coating and i'm sure it was Tyrells, but they don't have it on their website. Had them at friends house and they got them from trendy deli. Must track down.

This is what happens when I come on veg thread before dinner when very hungry. Dp at the supermarket and I just raided cupboards and ended up settling for peanut butter on a spoon. This is what happens when I go away.

BBBee · 18/04/2008 18:42

oh everyone stop and listen to me as I actuially have something to contribute to 10/10 other than nonsense!

In frozen section near peas by 'soya beans' from birds eye. These are edamame - then in bwol, teaspoon water, plate on top, microwave 2.5 mins salt and eat.

lovely

and 10/10

(now I am sure someone is going to tell me how wrong I am)

boco - there is another thread?

was there dancing?

BBBee · 18/04/2008 18:43

agree re: mrsC veg.

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2008 18:44

i have got them in freezer Bee
(well mine are organic [swank])
I never cook them though I just think 'ooh edamame I love them'

TooTicky · 18/04/2008 18:44

Yes Bee, I've had those (but go to Holland and Barratt and you can get non-Bird's Eye ones).
And DON@T MICROWAVE THEM!!!!!!
I steam them.
And if you whizz them into soups they make it lovely and creamy.
Right, off to read thread...

lullabyloo · 18/04/2008 18:44

microwave ?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

lullabyloo · 18/04/2008 18:45

they are already cooked
i just defrost them

lullabyloo · 18/04/2008 18:47

no one sympathised with my thread yesterday
[sulk]

Nobody loves me
Nobody cares

BBBee · 18/04/2008 18:47

oh they are good though - a bit like wotsits.

I have a thing now that I can;t start a thread about because people will just say I am a nasty mummy bitch so I will subject you to it.

DS (8yrs) has a very good imagination which is great - but lately he has started telling me very long descriptions of 'what would happen if...' or 'I have designed an underground shopping centre...' and yes it is very sweet and creative, but it can go on for 10 mins or more and I have to listen and engage - I can;t do the 'hmmm...' thing.

what do I do?

Is very bitchy isn;t it.

Fullmoonfiend · 18/04/2008 18:48

100 email me with name of weirdy site - I know one weirdy site but if there's another, I need to know about it
You should have my email - clue, we have the same fist name...

Boco · 18/04/2008 18:48

No, no dancing Bee, just standing and mingling, then sitting and listening to cherie and jw, thne more mingling and some eating. There was a giant cake. I accidentally lost my cake though, I gave it to someone to hold while I wrote something down, and then i forgot about it and wandered off.

That's not an interesting point about the evening though, the cake loss.

BBBee · 18/04/2008 18:49

oh see - not only do you all already do the edamame thing but you all do it more knowledgably and better than me.

And I was all excited.

lullabyloo · 18/04/2008 18:49

lost cake
shocking

I would never lose cake

lullabyloo · 18/04/2008 18:50

Beeeeeeee

Fullmoonfiend · 18/04/2008 18:50

first name, obviously. I have no name for either of my fists.

BBBee · 18/04/2008 18:50

'fist name'?

perverts.

Boco · 18/04/2008 18:51

what was your thread Lully?

Bee, could you pretend to pass out? Set your watch, give it your best for say, 7 minutes, listening and contributing, if it shows no sign of ending, faint. I do this with dp aaalll the time.

BBBee · 18/04/2008 18:51

oh boco - the cake thing is very important. Did you know the person who you asked to hold the cake? I think it was a floppy haired artist who was in love with you and thought that he would get to talk to you again when you retrieved the cake and you didn;t and he has the cake in the fridge in his flat and he cries.

TooTicky · 18/04/2008 18:53

Love the idea of Franny eating and writing what she wants to say
I am v. bad at eating in front of people. It's the chewing, isn't it? It takes so long.

BBBee · 18/04/2008 18:55

franny - can you take a bag of nuts for the way home?

TooTicky · 18/04/2008 18:55

Lully, what was your thread about?
Have to play with dcs and eat chocolate biscuit cake with raisins and cranberries.

Boco · 18/04/2008 18:56

There was a floppy haired boy there actually and we did do laughing a bit, but he wasn't an artist and he seemed maybe gay. And he didn't hold my cake. It was a woman with a really big camera in her other hand. As the camera came into focus I wandered off fast. Losing cake. KP is a bit flirty actually, just generally not with me specifically, he was rather charming. I will stop going on and on about this now.

But also Bee, the other good thing is that this woman is going to do me a window display in her shop for free and no commission for 2 weeks in July and then if anything sells she'll sell pictures for me as a regular thing - this is good as her shop is very nice and very busy. Have to decide what kind of things to make now though.

TooTicky · 18/04/2008 18:57

But I will be back later.

Oh, and please can we have a new thread? The blue dinosaur is working overtime.

Fullmoonfiend · 18/04/2008 18:57

oh 100 - I know wherre yopu mean!1 nEAR wHITBY!
dh and I saw this last year and thought it looked ace! Can we meet you there, can we???
I am not posting a link here, or every blardy poncey Bath-dweller and their cousin will descend upon it.....

Shall I email you a link?

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2008 18:57

I know I am being very negative about all suggestions but on way home I have shopping trolley in one hand and ds's hand in other

there really is only this 45 minute window for eating and I can see I am just going to have to SEIZE it
