For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Poorly I think. Defiantly so.
Whats vgs?
I hate doing veg lists next to yours lully.

lullabyloo · 08/04/2008 18:21

oh dear

vgs = virtual grandson
I adopted Rusty a long time ago to make up for ds's lack of family

RustyBear · 08/04/2008 18:22

More food pics. I'll upload the rest - you can always avert your eyes from the non-veggie stuff!

I'd have thought your DD would have wanted to watch UC last night, zippi. How was her first day?

lol @ Tiger's fruit salad with yoghurt and peas

MrsC, I'm sure the hospital can let you know about morphine and BF. And if it's not ok, you can always pump and dump. The hospital should have a pump but could you borrow one, just in case? I hated the hospital ones and really could have done with my own. I still feel sad about not BF. DS was fine with it until recently when he has asked for milk. I told him there was none left because he drank it all when he was a baby but he is fascinated by other children BF.

No idea about conjunctivitis, I'm afraid. I was going to suggest BM too but that might be tricky. Chammomile tea sounds soothing. Did you try it, Lully?

Who is this Ann of whom you all speak?

I need to bake something but I'm not sure what. And I would like to make soup but don't know what.

UnderRated · 08/04/2008 18:33

Oh, corn, peas, broccoli, raisins, seeds (I know they don't count).

I'm going to make a strawberry and banana smoothie in a minute. And I'm going to count it as two. So there [defiant]

eternalstudent · 08/04/2008 18:34

Who was it looking for a poppyseed cake recipe? I have found an orange poppyseed syrup cake in an Aussie Woman's Weekly. Looks awesome. UR could test drive it and let us know.

RustyBear · 08/04/2008 18:35

Original picture plus 6 others

eternalstudent · 08/04/2008 18:35

As no-one has tried to save me from myself I am going to have burgers made with meat not black eye beans. So ner.

It is my wedding anniverary tomorrow. Yay! No cooking for me!

RustyBear · 08/04/2008 18:36

Not my pics btw - someone emailed them to DD.

eternalstudent · 08/04/2008 18:37

!! I thought you made them Rusty.

UnderRated · 08/04/2008 18:47

Alas, I have no poppyseeds, ES. I do have oranges though. Maybe an orange drizzle cake? But I'd rather eat them than bake with them, I think. Am almost out of eggs too so that will make things more challenging. Why do I offer to do things without thinking them through? Grrrrr.

UnderRated · 08/04/2008 18:49

I love those pictures. Who's the guy (or woman, I suppose) who does faces out of veg? Does anyone know what I mean?

zippitippitoes · 08/04/2008 18:49

oh archiboldi or something

eternalstudent · 08/04/2008 18:50

shortbread UR?

lullabyloo · 08/04/2008 18:53

I have a book called Play Food that fashions animals etc out of veg & fruit

I tried the tea,but his eyes are completely bloodshot & closed now & he is oozing green stuff from every possible outlet
We have been in all day freezing while the sun has been shining gloriously.
Poor ds,he has been ill for months.
I think his immune system is at an all time low
I dread to think what he'd be like without the great diet that he has

FrannyandZooey · 08/04/2008 18:55

Have been to physiotherapist
am all strapped up with tape and banned from using laptop
please don't tell on me

I can't even remember who Anne is
well where she came from
it's a mystery to me
100 is marvellously Anne sometimes when she is being very sensible and bustly
but why is she Anne?

I had better go before dp catches me on here

lullabyloo · 08/04/2008 18:56

strapped up?
banned?
Why???????????????????????

UnderRated · 08/04/2008 18:57

It may have to be shortbread, ES. Nice and easy, and quite English, I think. ANd made without eggs

Poor DS, Lully. Thank goodness he has such a good diet. Is there anything he can take to boost his immune system?

Have googled "vegetable art" in the hope of finding the pic I was thinking of but no luck. You may be right zippi but I have no idea

I did find this and thought of Lully.

UnderRated · 08/04/2008 19:00

Are you ok? Are you hurt?

FrannyandZooey · 08/04/2008 19:06

oh dear yes sorry am fine have just got twingy back (was bad with ds am trying to avoid happening again) and went to physio and they said NO LAPTOPS ON YOUR LAP

Boco · 08/04/2008 19:11

I remember where Anne came from - it was when we were trying to guess each other's real life names - and I guessed that 100x would be called Anne because she's all sensible and brisk. And then it came to mean sensible and brisk behaviour.

UnderRated · 08/04/2008 19:12

Oh good - I thought something terrible had happened. Well, obviously no laptop is quite awful but am glad it is nothing worse. Could put the laptop on a table?

There is nothing better than a pregnant woman in bondage gear. Is DP rubbing his hands together yet?

UnderRated · 08/04/2008 19:14

Oh, the Anne thing makes sense then. I don't know anyone named Ann.

BBBee · 08/04/2008 19:53

hello

have skimmed - somethign about morphine - it is great ask for as much as you can.

bf: caroot, I would not worry - he is old enough if it stops but go with the plan that you will resume when he comes out - if he likes nad needs it enough it will.

zippi - lololol

franny- it is my bf ( best friend not boy friedn or breast feed) birthday and I bought her a mooncup - she will love it won;t she? She is into this stuff more than me. Okay or not?
