Damn - tried to do that 'strike out' thing and it didn't work!

Cubby - hope you didn't mind me using your name as the basis for a schoolboy's joke - just made me laugh last night!

dandycandyjellybean · 17/04/2008 18:43

No, it made me laff too, just don't think I can think of myself as anything other than cunny now with this name ~ even funnier in the context that my ds has gone to my sisters for a sleep over today and will be gone for the next couple of nights.................................................................. deffo need to come up with something else!!! Have a 25cl bottle of cava chilling in fridge in view of slightly special occasion (may actually get some sex over the next few days if all our bits haven't dried up and fallen off!!!!!) Sorry that was tmi!!!! Will post later if I'm not too knackered from all the strenuous exercise..... lots of lurve from cuBBy!!!!!

dandycandyjellybean · 17/04/2008 18:45

Apologies, excitement makes me selfish, hope everyone is doing okay, feeling better, etc. Didn't mean to be an ignoramous! It's the face pack and the deep conditioning hair treatment draining all my brain cells!!! arf arf.

teasle · 17/04/2008 22:26

Habitual · 18/04/2008 09:15

Hello all, just a flying visit this morning but I hope to catch up properly this weekend.

I still have not had a drink!!!

Still waking up feeling like I have done 10 rounds with someone though.

And, I am getting nervous. I have gone 9 nights without a drink now. I don't know if I WANT to touch another one. This wasn't my intention, I wanted to be in control of drinking, not now frightened to do so.

Is this just par for the course?

gerbrajess · 18/04/2008 09:35

Me too Teasle and PurpleOne...think it's time for a name change cuBBy

How is everyone today? Habitual WELL DONE!! 9 nights is fantastic. I would understand your hesitation about having a drink. I'm like you, though, I would eventually like to get to the point where I can leave it during the week and only drink Friday and Saturday. Perhaps stay off it if you're still hesitant about it until you've had more time sober?

Cubby, hope you had a good night

I start Friday smoke-free (day 5) and hangover-free. Went to bed 100% sober last night. Getting to sleep was a nightmare but I did it...feel vaguely human today!!!

Hope everyone's well today...

teasle · 18/04/2008 09:36

HI Habitual- are you nervous because you are woorried that if you have a drink you won't be able to control it and you'll be back on the cyle of drinking dependently again? If so...yeah thats normal. Well done, 9 days is brilliant, it really is. Your body is probably still adjusting though, but if you think it may help, a trip to the GPs may be worthwhile, just to check you over.

Purpleone- it is always nice to see you posting- hows things with DD1?- and yourself of course.

Jelli- you will now always have the silent prefix KY whenever I see your name.

I think sometimes with hypnotherapy people can treat it like a magic wand- y'know, wave the magic wand and it will all be ok without having to put any effort in myself. Doesn't work like that though, tempting as that thought is...

Hi to everyone else. Whats ocurring for everyone this weekend?

hope you're feeling ok Kokeshi.x

teasle · 18/04/2008 09:36

Cross-posted Gerbra- well done!

gerbrajess · 18/04/2008 09:59

Thanks Teasle - feel better this morning than I have done in ages

LOL at your new signature KY Jellibabe !!!

gerbrajess · 18/04/2008 10:06

Hey Kokeshi - hope the talk went well...

dandycandyjellybean · 18/04/2008 19:59

Just a flying visit, this is Mrs Lingus' new nickname!!!! Will post again, post coitally, possibly . Hopefully, this should be fairly safe.....?

BrassicMonkey · 18/04/2008 20:11

Great name, but you'll always be cunny cubby to me

Is it another child free night for you? If so, hope you enjoy it.

glowwormish · 18/04/2008 21:14

Gerbra-Fantastic, drink free one night and smoke free for 5? I gave up ove r10 yrs ago and remember the agony.
Habitual - 9 days thats brilliant. wish i could just do one!
Defender of hynotherapy.... i tried this about 10 years ago for personal reasons. I foudn it brilliant but but ,my seesionds were built in with pyscho anaylisis (god sorry am tired and had two already). I had over 4 months worht of weekly sessions. Havig said that I tried someone a few years later and was bitterly disaapointed.
It really all depends on the therapist and your interaction. And of course itf its right for you then great but be very careful and shop around. I have thought about it with my dependancy but I think I was sos lucky the first time (not in smae area and know she is not pracitcing). I could do it again and will probaly do so in conjunctionw ith other stuff and making sure I source the right one.

teasle · 18/04/2008 22:56

Somebodyfokme?- oops, sorry, blame my sausage fingers. Hope you are having real-life fun!
Its a great name, wish I could turn Teasle into something exciting or at least slightly saucy, but its just not happening. x

jellibabe · 18/04/2008 23:15

What about stripteasle?

gerbrajess · 18/04/2008 23:18

Popping on quickly, I'm going to Ikea for 6am and I still have to go to bed .

Habitual, well done on the booze, fabulous effort. Don't give up, it gets easier and you DO feel better after a while.

Gerbra, good for you on your 5th smoke free day.

Thanks for asking after me, the talk was very well received. I might be on the telly next week as well. Hmmm, don't know how I feel about that actually.

Night folks.

gerbrajess · 19/04/2008 02:33

Kokeshi - fab! you'll have to tell us when it's on! Glad to hear it all went well...good luck with Ikea...
