Not too bad so far today.

Looked long and hard at a Twirl in the shop this morning.

Walked away.

Right, off to clear out another cupboard.

snorkle · 14/04/2008 15:14

Well done all. I'm slowly adjusting to the no snack routine & I seem to have lost about 3lb this week which is great, but the accuracy of the scales is questionable.

trulymadlydeeply · 14/04/2008 16:16

Hi everyone,

Haven't lost any weight, but not doing it for that so .

Came off the wagon at the weekend - and will relax from Friday night to Sunday or I'll never keep it up, but climbed back on this morning and have been good today - no snacks.

I used to skip meals and think "No breakfast, so I can have cake and biscuits at 10.00am instead". Now I'm probably eating more for real meals, but better food all in all, with fewer snacks. So pleased overall - and thanks and good luck to everyone!

Tickle · 14/04/2008 18:26

TrulyMadlyDeeply I have noticed that I am eating more at main meals, cos I haven't filled myself up on empty snacks. Must be a good sign

Did have a couple of those home-baked biccies after lunch though - but proud that I didn't finish the lot

hairtwiddler · 14/04/2008 18:38

Ok, so not a terrible day, but am all stressed with the bathroom being fitted so picked at the remnants of two of DD's meals today which incuded some baked crisp type things. Still not eating cakes, biscuits etc. I have had some yoghurt covered raisins though, and they are pure sugar.
How are you holding up with stress levels, midnight?
Ok, off to chuck some bits of bathroom in a skip!

Tickle · 14/04/2008 18:53

ooh but hairtwiddler you can look forward to the 'new you' relaxing in your new bathroom - just a bit longer to wait!

midnightexpress · 14/04/2008 19:34

I am remarkably deluded calm, hairtwiddler, under the circumstances. But ask me again on Friday for the true picture . I imagine that my anxiety levels will be gradually increasing this week to reach fever pitch by Friday.

It looks like we'll be offline for a while while our internet gets sorted, so will have to rely on my own willpower once we move and check back in once we're up and running again.

hairtwiddler · 14/04/2008 19:41

Yes, I have that in mind! At the moment I have only a very precarious loo - the rest of the bathroom is in the skip outside!

QuintessentialShadows · 14/04/2008 20:16

no weigh loss this week, I was good till thursday, and have not been able to sneak the odd snack since then, culminating in a full blown pastry today. I am so down about my health, still coughing, think I have fractured a rib, breathing problems at night. I miss my husband who is still sorting out the move, the agency is picking up our stuff tomorrow. This week should be better. I hope.

Well done to the rest of you!

warmsummersday · 14/04/2008 21:33

Can i join in please?

Im on my own all week so always picking at biscuits, choc, crisps etc and really need to stop, also drunk quite alot of wine over half term.

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week.

Sorry haven't got time to read the whole thread so how does it work?

Thanks!

ingles2 · 14/04/2008 21:43

hello summer...it works however you want really,...tell us about the good days, bad days, that sort of thing.
Good day again today, but have noticed my norks, never my best feature btw, are looking a bit shrivelled and (even) saggier
why can't the weight disappear from my non existant waist and fat arse first?
Oh well, have to invest in some serious harnesses bras.

notnowbernard · 14/04/2008 22:25

rice crispies for breakfast (really should get my arse down the healthy cereal aisle)
cheese and pickle sandwich, an apple and half a bag of mini cheddars (shared with dd)
slice of bread with peanut butter pm snack (bit of a bread theme here)
some natural nuts and raisins
home-made prawn curry with rice for dinner

still no sugar

need to tackle my carb dependency next,I think

or get to a gym...

welcome to everyone and Keep Calm and Carry On!

MegBusset · 14/04/2008 22:51

Breakfast: Shreddies
Lunch: cheese & pickle bagel, slim-a-soup
Tea: Spaghetti napoletana and garlic bread, glass of wine

MegBusset · 14/04/2008 22:52

Just fruit for snacks but I have a feeling my carb intake is seriously restricting any weight loss!

Tutter · 15/04/2008 12:36

Day 2 and already 2lbs down on yday

that's a day's worth of sweets then

i alwasy go for an oats breakfast btw - body breaks oats down more slowly than wheat, so you feel full for longer

sushi for lunch but will prob need a bagel of something later as am not satisfied

so hard to keep away from ds1's treats cupboard

Tutter · 15/04/2008 12:36

of or

ingles2 · 15/04/2008 14:47

Oh My God!!!!! the situation is worse than I thought!!!
I couldn't resist it, the lure of buying some scales was just too great, despite promising myself I'd never give them house room again due to my obsession in my 20's
I'm 11 stone 10
so I've got a stone to lose starting from now...10.5 would be good but probably impossible as I'm starving now.
so far today
banana on toast & yoghurt
brown pitta, houmous, grapes, slim a soup

JennsterSlugSlayer · 15/04/2008 14:57

Right no D and V in our house anymore so I'm ready to go.

Muesli for breakfast and a small stirfry for lunch with an apple and some grapes.

Chicken salad with sweet potato wedges for dinner (planned) and water for when I'm feeling hungry.

Ingles I'm the same weight (or have become the same weight as you after my d and v) and am aiming for 11. 10lb 10 was my weight before getting pregnant with my first, but that just isn't going to happen.

I'm going back to work in a few weeks so that should make it a little easier to no snack.

notnowbernard · 15/04/2008 16:39

cornflakes for breakfast and a slice of toast
last night's prawn curry with a small pitta bread (curry was homemade and portion was smallish so don't feel too bad about it)
NO snacks so far!!
am going to have chicken with spuds and veg tonight. Will have some fruit after

my best day so far on the bread front, I think

Q: What's granola like and is it bad for you?!

midnightexpress · 15/04/2008 17:06

notnow: Granola's like those crunchy cluster cereals iykwim. They're sort of good for you, but can have a lot of sugar in them.

Good day here:

healthy breakfast

soup and toast ( and butter) for lunch. Pear.

Raisins for snack.

STARVING

baked potato with cheese for dinner.

which i must go and get sorted....

notnowbernard · 15/04/2008 17:15

Thanks, Midnight Will look around and see if there's any healthier stuff

Do people eat with their dc's or once they're in bed?

Dp is getting home too late for us to all eat together atm. The dd's eat at about 5ish, so I'm having to wait a LONG time between lunch and dinner (about 8pm atm)

Which means I am starving also!

Need some ideas for something healthy to eat with the dd's, rather than scoffing their leftovers... have managed to refrain so far, but I'm struggling!

FunkyGlassSocks · 15/04/2008 18:12

Same here notnow. Kids eat at 5 but DH and I end up eating at about 8. A long time between 8 and 12. I filled mine today with a mars bar . But, I have eaten with the kids for a change, made spag bol and added lots of veg to it. AND had a banana for pudding.

hairtwiddler · 15/04/2008 19:10

I've had such a strange stressful day I can barely remember whether I've been healthy or not! We have a plaster filled house, and still only access to the loo!
However, I'm pretty sure I've managed to maintain my halo. Toast and marmite for breakfast, asparagus and goats cheese tart with lots of fresh spinach for lunch, and about to have some homemade cauliflower curry with rice for dinner. Snacked on seeds and dried fruit, plus half a pitta bread with a babybel.
Felt a bit slimmer this morning, may do some measurements.

hairtwiddler · 15/04/2008 19:11

p.s. Always try to eat with DD, unless it's a nursery day when DH and I eat later.

notnowbernard · 15/04/2008 19:43

Hairtwiddler, your day has been positively virtuous

Dp gets home at various times, but atm isn't getting in until the dds are in bed
I'd rather eat with him... always have breakfast and lunch with the dds anyway

But I might start preparing myself a (very) healthy snack to have when they are eating... am thinking veg sticks with hummous or something

(will make my own to be super-healthy)
