Climbed off the wagon for the weekend - not as bad as usual, but I've indulged nevertheless .

Will cllimb back on on Sunday night.

Hope others are doing better ...

Hello all! I'm doing pretty well, I think. Still eating normal meals but have kept to the 'only healthy snacks' rule. Haven't heard any singing biscuits today ! I was very proud this afternoon as I baked a batch of raspberry muffins to take to a friend's house and didn't have one! They looked pretty nice too.
Breakfast was porridge, lunch was leftover potato/cabbage cakes with homemade tomato soup. Dinner - chicken and mushroom stir fry with noodles followed by strawberries, natural yoghurt, a squirt of honey and some seeds.
My treat day tomorrow. Very happy about that!
Those of you who have had bad days, all situations where I can see myself tripping up! I'd love to be able to go somewhere there is a buffet, decide what I'm going to eat, and stick to it!

Tickle · 12/04/2008 19:22

That's willpower hairtwiddler! I'm just not baking - cos I know it would be my downfall. Trouble is, in the summer it's my job - we run a cafe and I tend to clean up the odd slice at the end of the day (not to mention licking the bowl )

Had some cake today at teatime cos we had a scouts car rally with the kids. But otherwise been pretty good. Not feeling slimmer yet though - maybe I'm just eating huge main courses to compensate for lack of snacks

Tickle · 12/04/2008 19:23

ps hope you had a great birthday midnight

notnowbernard · 12/04/2008 21:05

Happy birthday, Midnight

Not a bad day, but I don't feel any difference weight/clothes wise yet

rice crispies for breakfast
home-made veg ravioli and salad for lunch
slice of bread with marmite and an apple pm snack
some bombay mix (not good!)
homemade beef chilli with rice

think I really need to go shopping with healthy cereal and snacks in mind

Flo23 · 12/04/2008 21:16

Weekends are my downfall. Cinema last night, so had to have popcorn.

Today started well, but went downhill this afternoon, didnt say no to some cake with a cup of tea at my sisters house.

DH out tonight so felt that I must treat myself tonight, so have had pizza and a Gu pud. Not forgetting the wine..

Have been (mostly) good all week, so have probably just ruined all my efforts in the space of 24 hrs. MUST try harder.

midnightexpress · 12/04/2008 21:29

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Am sitting here with glass of wine and box of chocolates. And had crisps today.

Obviously they were like ashes in my mouth.

Will climb back on the horse tomorrow, I promise.

Well done everyone who is doing better than me.

mybestfriendiscalledstig · 13/04/2008 09:30

Hope you had a good birthday midnight. Sounds like everyone is either doing well, or very aware of their weaknesses - first step surely?!?
I threw up all day yesterday - easy way to avoid treats...
Will check my weight later today, as off on hols to Devonfor a week later - will probably be very bada bit lax - (clotted cream scones....)
See you all when I get back....

ingles2 · 13/04/2008 14:09

belated birthday wishes midnight
Had 2 glasses of wine on fri and sat night but wasn't too bad otherwise.. oh had a twix over the weekend too
back on the wagon now have been looking at bikinis for my holiday to remind me. seems to be working...
ggod luck everyone for a fat/sugar free(ish) week.

hairtwiddler · 13/04/2008 20:14

Treat day today - I had a very lovely apple crumble with cream at friend's house for dinner. The rest of the day hasn't been too bad. Toast and marmite for breakfast, fish fingers on toast for lunch with yoghurt, banana and seeds, and roast dinner.
A stressful week ahead. We have no proper bathroom for a week while a new one is being fitted. Hope I don't reach for the chocolate to help me cope!
Keep it up folks - week one is done!

notnowbernard · 13/04/2008 21:25

Hello all

Had a good day today

cornflakes
roast chicken dinner
apple pm snack
small portion of rice salad, tomato salad, hummous and a hard boiled egg for tea
bowl of grapes and a kiwi this evening

Have to say, the cravings are DEFINITELY reducing! There was a whole bar of Dairy Milk (family size) on the go at work today and I resisted! Hooray

On the down side, I weighed myself and I am 10st4. I have gained 2lbs since Tuesday!!! Aaaagghh

Will not let it deter me

Here's to the week ahead

MegBusset · 13/04/2008 21:27

Been pretty good today: bran flakes for brekkie, Quorn ham roll and slim-a-soup for lunch, veggie sausage, mash and beans for tea. Fruit for snacks, no wine.

Not sure I feel massively different yet although I am definitely a little less hungry during the day, hopefully getting used to snacking less. We'll see at tomorrow's weigh-in!

MegBusset · 13/04/2008 21:29

NNB I am amazed at people who can manage to just have a light tea. Even of I have a great big cooked lunch, my body demands a proper feed again in the evening. S'why I stick to sandwiches!

notnowbernard · 13/04/2008 21:33

Meg, I agree, I much prefer to have a 'proper' dinner at night

But at work we have a cooked meal at lunch time. So I have to exert maximum willpower to not scoff another dinner once I get home.

I cannot believe I have gained weight!!! Bloody Hell. Good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow

janeite · 13/04/2008 21:56

I have been terrible but have a (sort of) excuse - the fridge freezer appears to have died, so I've had a massive cook-a-thon to use up some food!

PuppyDogTails · 14/04/2008 07:58

Monday weigh in - hurrah I'm 11 st 6 lbs - lost 2lb this week. Wonder what it would be if I hadn't had a day of eating nothing but cake?!

MegBusset · 14/04/2008 08:30

I'm 9st 8.5lb so lost 1.5lb. I feel quite bloated this morning, though I suspect last night's mashed potato!

midnightexpress · 14/04/2008 08:37

Hi all

Back on the wagon now after the weekend. Hairtwiddler, we've got a bit of a week of it too - we're moving house on Friday, and ds2 starts nursery too. Argh. We can hold each other's hands.

I bought some scales at the weekend and I'm 9.9. Would love to get down to 9 stone. I'm pleasantly surprised, though it does suggest that what I really need to do is exercise a bit to firm up the flab. We have a garden full of brambles at the new place, so perhaps clearing that lot will work off a bit of the excess .

Here's to a good week. GLorious sunshine here, so we're off to the park.

FunkyGlassSocks · 14/04/2008 09:07

Starting again today. Had hot cross buns for breakfast but plan to have NO unhealthy snacks. Not planning on having playdates this week which will help enormously.

Tutter · 14/04/2008 09:19

hello

are latecomers allowed?

i haven't lost any weight since about a week after ds2 was born 8 months ago. a stone would suit me perfectly

cannot be arrussed with a diet proper, but am happy to cut out booze, sweets, puds, etc

i exercise once, maybe twice a week

Tutter · 14/04/2008 09:21

oh, and the facts and figures:

i'm 5'8"

before i had ds1 (2.11 years ago) i was fit and weighed 9st 10lbs

before i had ds2 i was fit-ish and weighed 10st 9lbs

i'm now 11st 8lbs

would love to be back to 10st or under one day, but a realistic goal for me would be my pre-ds2 weight of 10st 9lbs

ingles2 · 14/04/2008 09:34

morning..
good day yesterday, at family dinner had to watch everyone eat the most sickly looking banoffee pie, thought I'd be jealous but actually wasn't! Now that's a first... no wine either
can't do a weigh in (no scales) so thought I'd measure!
According to my tape measure I've lost an inch on my boobs and waist and an 1.5" on my hips since last mon. pretty pleased with that...
keep up the good work everyone and Hi Tutter.....

Tickle · 14/04/2008 09:56

hello tutter

Well done everyone - we'll get there!

Baked biscuits yesterday, and had a few at teatime with everyone else, but VERY proud to report that I haven't sneaked into the tin ONCE since then Before this week it would have been almost empty

Tape measure is a good idea, ingles, as I don't have scales either.

Keep going everyone!

Flo23 · 14/04/2008 11:06

Morning!

Unfortunately seem to have put on a lb.. Must remember that if I eat anything I shouldn't I just won't get away with it.

Really want to lose a stone(believe it or not) so new week, new start!

Well done to everyone who has done better than me x

FunkyGlassSocks · 14/04/2008 13:58

Ok, doing fine so far. No snacks yet.

I bought some Rich tea biscuits at the weekend as my theory is that 1 rich tea is better than masses of chocolates! I will try and avoid them but feel better for having a reserve...
