For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lully - did you really eat half a cauliflower?

Fullmoonfiend · 03/04/2008 20:33

OK ES, on the count of three....
one >
two

FrannyandZooey · 03/04/2008 20:38

hurrah for our zippi! if only it had been a fruit and veg related quote instead of sex and stately homes though....

UnderRated it is in the Parenting News email. You need to sign up for it somewhere, probably 'my account'

I have had exciting / scary mixed leaf salad for lunch with cucumber, tomato, mixed sprouts, and red pepper. The leaves come with the organic box and are all shapes and sizes and some of them have a real KICK

then crappy embarrassing ready meal for dinner (I was really knackered and we had just trawled round shop for ages getting party food). It did involve spinach. In a minor way.

Ds had to have his tea at the supermarket cafe and he got really excited about this. I said "Don't get too excited, there is a reason we don't normally eat here...the food is not very good." He looked worried so I said "if it is really bad we will just get you a sandwich and a salad." Ds: "oh yes a salad! Nobody could make a SALAD turn out bad!" I wish I had his faith

Now eating apple, 2 colours of grapes.

Trying to soak up as much as possible before the wretched snow on Sunday

eternalstudent · 03/04/2008 20:53

I might change my name to hiccuppysniffs. I don't like eternalstudent.

eternalstudent · 03/04/2008 20:54

That's no deep statement, I just meant the name

eternalstudent · 03/04/2008 20:55

Wretched snow? Is it a reliative of yellow snow?

I like raw cauliflower too. More than cooked cauliflower

FrayedKnot · 03/04/2008 20:56

It'snot really going to snow is it?

Sorry about car etc FMF...what a nightmare

FrayedKnot · 03/04/2008 21:00

eternalstudent · 03/04/2008 21:10

cunting weather. I have been optimistic and put away most of my winterwear.

FrayedKnot · 03/04/2008 21:10

How is it they all say something different?!

TooTicky · 03/04/2008 21:53

Oh, so sorry Fmf.

I am supposed to be baking something NOW for pudding in lunchboxes. I have v. little SR flour, some oatbran and plenty of oats. I am lacking in inspiration. I keep having to bake emergency things.
My armpits smell and my hair is greasy but we do now have lighting.

My deleted post was just something I thought better of - just better not posted publicly really. No big deal

A camping meet would be fabulous Avi, but it does need to be cheap

TooTicky · 03/04/2008 22:20

I think Zippi is going to Lithuania with her climber this weekend and she said, "I quite like the idea that men are different in bed to how they are when you are visiting a National Trust property."

TooTicky · 03/04/2008 22:49

UR, are you about? I don't tend to reply to your posts in the mornings because you're not here. Bean burgers without egg - yes, it is possible. They can be delicate, but that is half the fun
And yes, I think Tartex used to be Nestle, but aren't any more. We use the Suma one atm but still call it Tartex. Dd2 adores it and calls it tex. Dd1 is thoroughly odd and has tartex and raisin sandwiches
Natex, on the other hand, is like Marmite but less salty. Also more ethical company.

How are you?

TooTicky · 03/04/2008 23:03

Alas, nobody is here this evening

BBBee · 04/04/2008 00:25

I am here - I am back. I went to my dinner and i have decided authors are funny. Not ha ha funny but weird funny - in a nice interesting way.

zippi i am oh dear about the naan. have a good holiday.

okay night.

UnderRated · 04/04/2008 00:30

Good evening

I have spent the afternoon cleaning and tidying too. I feel a bit better about my house now. Haven't managed to get rid of anything but just sorting through things has made a difference.

I don't like raw califlower very much. I don't like it cooked either tbh.

Bee, I'm glad your dinner went well.

I'm feeling oddly anxious and jittery. Have sprinkled lavender oil everywhere.

What did you bake Tooticky? I think tartex and raisin sandwich sounds quite appetising actually. But only with the green one (farlic & herbs?)

Grapes. Pineapple. [shame]
