For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

er hear that you are depressed i meant

Fullmoonfiend · 27/03/2008 16:58

That makes us sound like a load of Labrador puppies

Fullmoonfiend · 27/03/2008 17:00

ah Zip, I meant ditto what wombling said about understanding and wanting to help if you needed it

Fullmoonfiend · 27/03/2008 17:00

I'm not allowed to be depressed at the moment. Tis DH's turn....

FrayedKnot · 27/03/2008 17:02

Hello

Wombling write the restaurant a letter, explaining about DS being ill and you really wanting to relax and enjoy a special treat. Unless they are complete rats they will surely offer you some recompense.

See lots of people talk about complaining but rarely do, imho, esp not in writing. if they don;t give you a refund then you can go public!

I've been supremely good at f&v today. I had an enormous bowl of water melon, kiwi & strawberries, and a big salad for lunch.

I should be preapring stir fry for supper but I seemt o be rooted to teh sofa.

I hav been cuddling a 6 day old baby this afternoon

I need an urgent broodiness cure.

eternalstudent · 27/03/2008 17:02

Going home to sulk without a puter. Or DH. Still, means I get the whole bed to myself.

Have fruitful evenings. Heh... heh... heh....

Steak, mushroom and pak choy stirfry.

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 17:02

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 17:03

trying not to have wine is probably gpoing to mlast about another two hours

FrayedKnot · 27/03/2008 17:05

Oh Zippi sorry also to hear about depression. It is always good when you do recognize it though as you can take steps to help yourslef rather than it creeping up and you don;t realize until you are in the mire.

I have form too...

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 17:11

i have got that baby i never had thing in my head again

its also rather stupid of me to be seeing another young single guywhen i should have learned my lesson last time around

IdrisTheDragon · 27/03/2008 17:34

Is there anyone on here who doesn't have "form" on depression [somewhat wry ] speaking as one with form.

I am going to my sister's hen party. Now. I am rather excited . We are going to be wearing T Shirts.

Can't really believe my little sister is getting married in just over a week's time . And that DD is going to be a little bridesmaid.

lionheart · 27/03/2008 17:50

I've got form too.

Wrong emoticon, but you know what I mean.

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 17:52

well i am feeling guilty cos i can guess that dgs has probably spent the day on his own while the two fuckers aka his dad and my ds have been lying in bed

i am a rubbish grandma really

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 17:55

dd1 just told me i should have rung them and dgs misses nursery because his dad cant be bothered to get up

of course he spoends all night drinking carling

its sick really

UnderRated · 27/03/2008 18:18

Happy birthday BBBee.

sorry about your meal, wombling. It's terrible that they wouldn't waive the cancellation fee given the circumstances. I think a letter is definitely the way to go. I didn't know that you could pay what you think the meal is worth. Zippi is a fountain on knowledge. Zippi, why is your DD so unreliable? What a shame you missed out on your day. And poor dgs. I hope you can make up for it soon. Hope you feel a bit brighter later.

at FMF's self-management.

I have walked a lot today. In high heels, but that doesn't matter, does it?

Big stir fry for lunch.

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 18:21

dd2 is at work being the breadwinner while idle fucker 1 and 2 stay at home

she is scared to say anything to her bf in case he ups and leaves as usual

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 18:22

sorry i am not being very bright..it is guilt and selfishness on my part

UnderRated · 27/03/2008 18:33

You don't sound selfish at all, zippi, just a concerned mum and grandparent. Her BF doesn't sound good from what you have said. Poor dd. And dgs.

We're going to make malteser tray bake this afternoon. I'll throw some raisins in it in a very poor attempt at being 'healthy'

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 18:35

that sounds yummy...do maltesers make nice cake

UnderRated · 27/03/2008 18:37

Don't know, never made it before. But it's only melted chocolate with maltesers and digestives, so what's not to like? I will use unsweetened chocolate so it shouldn't be too sickly. I bought it by mistake.

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 18:38

ive been completely lazy the last two days..i need to pull my finger out and do some stuff

MrsCarrot · 27/03/2008 20:00

No depression here but anxiety is an old friend that rears now and then.

That is horrible, zippi, at least he has you to look out for him and be a stable influence. You sound like a fab Grandma.

Happy Birthday Bbbeee!! I hope you eat much cake and have had a great day.

I am off on holiday tomorrow, not sure exactly where, near Hay-On-Wye somewhere on the Welsh border? It is a barn with meadows and a pond and a view of the hills and there will be cake and a hamper when we arrive and we can have a gourmet dinner delivered to the door if we so wish. I think we may wish it at least once.

Have a nice week.

ahundredtimes · 27/03/2008 20:12

Have a wonderful time MrsC. I like the thought of the mountains AND most particularly the gourmet delivery service. How are you?

DH has taken everyone to Warwick castle and they aren't back yet. I have spent a lot of time sighing and staring and wondering whether the concept of duty still exists.

On this front, I think I am not depressed or anxious though perhaps have a tendency towards melancholia? Isn't that a nice word. Actually I don't think I'm melancholic at all. I am like that quote about purposefully waddling in stupidity so you don't hear the heartbeat of a squirrel or the swish of every blade of grass.

Perfect Neighbour has just brought round some Rhubarb. I am stewing it with HUGE amounts of sugar.

ahundredtimes · 27/03/2008 20:13

Zip - I am sorry you are feeling depressed. I reckon you are a top Grandma too. AND I always think you do a HUGE amount all the time.

FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 20:15

MrsC have a nice break. I hope it is peaceful and that you have good weather

Zip I am sorry. Very sorry. I am not surprised you feel miserable about the situation but you are NOT a crap grandma &c &c. I wonder why things are piling up on you - well not surprising with all your stress about the house and so on. Are you tired, also?

Form here too. Long in the past, lucky for me.

Wombling your food was not that bad! Avocado, apple, banana and satsuma are all great foods.

FK gets the badge for the day i think. Although someone will probably come and pout because I have missed their stupendousness.
