For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

[pouts]

Just for the hell of it.

FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 20:18

Oh ME ME ME I did stupendousness

i had lettuce and cucumber and tomato and egg and potato and chickpea and cold sausage salad, and I went to the gym, for an hour

I don't know what I was doing for an hour as I am really only allowed to go on the bike and the treadmill and wave some very small weights around for a few minutes. So I did 10 mins bike, weights, 10 mins treadmill, 10 mins bike, weights, and who knows where the rest of the time went. Probably me walking very very slowly to the next machine. While people eyeballed my largeness

100 I can't give you a badge as I don't know what you did today
it would have to be a badge saying "my family went to warwick castle and I stayed at home"

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 27/03/2008 20:22

I don't want a badge, I want to pout.

I didn't really eat anything but fruit. 2 mangoes, 4 oranges (god they're nice, and largely ignored in here), 2 apples and in a minute a HUGE bowl of stewed rhubarb.

Johnny J and I walked for an hour. He did strenuous running and playing, I did staring.

FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 20:25

you can have a badge saying 'I did good pouting'

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 20:25

actually if you ate two mangoes I am pouting

ahundredtimes · 27/03/2008 20:26

One was good, the other was shunted off the boat.

How are you and ds? Are you still tired and irritated?

ladywombling · 27/03/2008 20:30

Hello!

Mrs C have a lovely time, sounds like a lovely holiday.

I am jealous of your mangoes too 100, am doing major pouting

About to have spinach, green beans, carrots and mushrooms plus watercress salad

FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 20:41

No I don't know what was different today
I would like someone to tell me so I could do it again tomorrow
ah it could partly be the fact I absolutely read him the riot act about waking us up at 5.30 am etc every morning and told him very firmly to NOT come in until 6.15 at least, which he ALMOST managed, which helped a lot

and I don't know what else was different, but I did think about 5 pm when I was making dinner and then getting ready for the gym, and he was sweeping up the sitting room and then calmly sitting looking at books, that something was a marked improvement on the previous 2 days

Hello.

I shouldn't be allowed in this week. I haven't run for a week and a half (or any exercise) and I've just been eating chocolate. All the time.

Throat is much better although still bleeding a bit.

I'll come back another day when I feel a bit less rubbish.

Hope you have a lovely time MrsC. Glad littlewombling is better. . Happy Birthday BBB!

Much love all.

FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 20:53

poor you Pink
you mustn't run when you are not well but if you could lay off the chocolate a bit it would help your immune system
(scary fact about processed sugar - it lowers your immune system for 12 hours every time you eat it)

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 20:53

and come and loiter here whenever you want to, you don't have to run or eat things if you don't feel up to it

i had a nice birthday as a lt of it was on my own. I like being on my own - I was on that ALONE thread and was pleased that I had done all the things. i have a friend who LOATHES being alone and has people and things scheduled all the time.

I like being on my own and always make it part of my birthday.

where is that bitch boco?

FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 21:02

being on my own always seems like a luxury or a treat these days

it used to be more commonplace but I still used to like doing things on my own that you were not meant to - like Christmas
it always felt indulgent and naughty
but this is when you have the luxury of choosing it I suppose, not nice when it is enforced

OP posts:
BBBee · 27/03/2008 21:04

no you are right - it has to be a choice - I imagine alone at christmas can feel awful if you didn't choose it.

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 21:04

if i was egotidtical and i am i would think you all know that i wish dd2 would boot out her bf..she deserves so much better, she is scared of being a single mum and she has such low self esteem she has done all the bollox of crap she has gone from pub kitchen to cleaner to office in the last 5 years she has got a wonderful son but i t makes mer cry she has a complete toe rag waster for a boyfriend, i have done all the stuff to say he is ok as has exh but he used to be 19 and now he is 23 and he is still fucking useless..

BBBee · 27/03/2008 21:06

FrayedKnot · 27/03/2008 21:29

BBBee Happy Birthday to yoooouuuuu!

Sorry I forgot to say it earlier. I'm glad you had time alone, to me it is a huge indulgence, so can see why you would choose it on your birthday. Was it also time alone doing nothing specific at all?

Zippi it is great that dgs has a Grandmother like you. They are very young, aren;t they? My dss & dsd are early 20's and it seems ot be a rocky time for them too.

I had stir fry so think I have made my 10 today

Does anyone know where I can get almond milk?

TigerBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 21:29
