For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I am Mrs WHolesome herself today.

Took dogs, DD and DH for a walk and on the slides n stuff and round the duck pond where we saw a pair of swans arguing over whose turn it was to sit on the eggs and then stroke each other lovingly (which made me cry). The last breeding pair died, the male got strangled by fishing stuff .

Then I made a stew with dumplings! I haven't had dumplings since I was 8. I prob won't again. Not so good.

Then dug in the allotment for about 4 hours and am sunburnt. Planted chard, courgettes, kohlrabi.

Smuggity smug smug smug.

Just had a bath and just about to gird the loins for sober sex. Grimace.

DH takes the pute away with him to college so tonight is my last chance to bore you all till Weds.

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2008 21:03

Fragments · 30/03/2008 21:08

FrayedKnot · 30/03/2008 21:18

lionheart · 30/03/2008 21:38

It was very nearly almost Spring-like, wasn't it?

Have had about six or seven so am working my way up to ten and feeling smug-ish.

eternalstudent · 30/03/2008 21:43

Thanks FK, I feel much more optimistic about it now

eternalstudent · 30/03/2008 21:45

Oh yeah...

Orange, Grapes, Cherry Toms, 4 x carrots, cucumber, peas, onions (stinky student)

Yay!

IdrisTheDragon · 30/03/2008 21:54

Hello .

We went to see Thomas the Tank Engine . Was good, although both DH and I were glad we weren't paying for it . DD (2.6) was very entranced - we weren't sure what she would think but did seem to believe it really was Thomas .

IdrisTheDragon · 30/03/2008 21:55

It was also very spring like . DD needs a lighter weight coat I think. Will look on ebay.

FrayedKnot · 30/03/2008 22:03

Lol I meant did everyone have nice sunny weather

Because we didn;t

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2008 22:04

lullabyloo · 30/03/2008 22:08

There is a mouse on our roof terrace

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2008 22:11

LOL student I have not had sex with the aid of substances for over 6 years
it is a trial sometimes isn't it

Avi in that case I have 3 shiny 2 pence pieces that belong to Mr Avi. I shall cherish them and polish them until his return

I think MrsC is on holiday

student I have fab dumpling recipe but TooT says the vege suet is hydrogenated fat so not so good. We only have them about once a year so maybe allowable. They are v nice anyway

Just watched Little Miss Sunshine - we loved it! Very very good and funny. I can't remember who liked and who didn't - I remember 100 said it was bogus, I think. I was completely taken in and charmed - wonderful. All the things that happened to their camper van happened to ours - the horn, the door, the clutch, everything. We decided we couldn't stand it any more after dp broke down on a roundabout and had to be towed by the police. Poor old van. God I love the ruddy reliable dull as shite Hyundai we bought with the cash we got from selling the van

i think sex without alcohol or whatever is a lotg better

and it means you dont have a restless night after either or bad breath in the morning

ahundredtimes · 30/03/2008 22:12

I have skimmed and skiddled and skidaddled my way up here and now I can't remember very much at all.

Except - Fra if you make chocolate cakes then you make a mini stencil and do their initial with icing sugar. Looks pretty, doesn't stick though.

And Lully - yes you should have a party for him. it won't be as bad as you think. And maybe have some individual children round from nursery, or go out to park with them and their mother or something, and help him along with the socializing with others bit perhaps?

And um, that is probably the extent of my marvellous advice.

I have eaten things. DS1 was being an arse, so I made him dig. That was good. I might have to get an allotment now, though I don't like gardening much. But he did digging, and more digging and then he was very happy and sane and not annoying. I'm going to get him digging until he's about 18 and then he can leave home.

eternalstudent · 30/03/2008 22:13

A total trial. What did I do when I was pregnant?!

Wish me luck.

(bbbbbooooooo to hydrogenated fat in veg suet, should have just bought the meatylicious stuff eh?)

TooTicky · 30/03/2008 22:16

Sorry to leave everybody wondering about my armpits this morning; I had washed and changed clothes twice and still they were smelly. Am wondering if it had anything to do with swimming yesterday - perhaps they feel the need to assert themselves after the onslaught of chlorine.

Went to nice woods with friends today - was good and muddy.

We appear to be in the rather daft situation of being without heating, hot water andf downstairs lighting

Haven't eaten much.

ahundredtimes · 30/03/2008 22:17

It will be a very deep hole. It will be eight years worth of digging. We could possibly sell the house and move into the hole when he moves out.

TooTicky · 30/03/2008 22:18

You can make perfectly good dumplings with non-hydrog margarine.

TooTicky · 30/03/2008 22:20

That sounds good 100x, I think my ds1 needs to dig. But he lacks stamina.

eternalstudent · 30/03/2008 22:20

Snort!! Assertive armpits! I have rebellious ones. Sometimes for no reason they max out on the smelliness and I spend the rest of the day forcing myself to remember if I did actually put deodorant on or if I'm superimposing the days befores memory of deodorant application.

Do you think I spend too much time thinking about such things???

Boco · 30/03/2008 22:21

Hello
Am back from Bristol. We came home via friend in Cheltenham and got lost and took about 3 days - have that motorway stare.

TooTicky · 30/03/2008 22:23

Boco, did you wave? You must have passed moderately near us. Well, within 10 miles or so.

ES, armpits deserve more thought than we give them.
