For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Comforting? Really?

No I don't know Larmertree - contrary to popular belief I'm actually a festival novice (only went to my first last year).
I really fancy the Levellers one but we can't afford it without a large miracle.

TooTicky · 28/03/2008 12:50

We will be going to the Ragged Hedge Fair again though - that was lovely, and small.

TooTicky · 28/03/2008 12:52

Come and look at my biofuels thread please.

TigerBollyKnickers · 28/03/2008 12:57

Ooooh biofuels, BabiesEverywhere and I were talking about that last night, her dh has just bought some equipment and we are trying to source oil

Fucking Bllocking Payroll have taken £159 out of my pay!!!

Given I only work PT that is a significant chunk.

I 'owe' them £600 apparently from an overpayment when I went back to work which I am trying to get to the bottom of as I don't think I do. Buts urely they can't just take it without consulting with me re: payment plan?!?!?!!?!?!??!?!

Cocksucking weaselmunchers.

TooTicky · 28/03/2008 16:06

Oh no!! Does that put you in the shit?

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 16:12

Not drastically. I've calmed down now. The rule is this.... I turn up, they pay me. It's simple. Or not as the case may be. Surely these things are automatic? Same hours every month, same pay yes?

I have eaten a whole bag of clementines today. Not quite in the spirit of things but a good start.

Bag of spring greens to eat this evening. With lemon sole in butter and miso sauce.

I may do some davina. Prob not.

FrannyandZooey · 28/03/2008 16:39

Larmer tree Gardens are lovely - same place the End of the Road festy we went to last year was held
Larmer Tree festival very chilled and nice apparently

Tiger on no account follow their advice about taking Kiki in water or sprinkling it on your food
(unless you really like gagging that is)
put in SMALL amount of juice and brace yourself while drinking. It is quite bad.

Student that is BAD. Am cross for you.

I had a really healthy lunch (I thought) and just realised it had no vegetables in it. It was all salads but not the sort that count - eg potato salad, egg salad. Anyway it was nice.

Dp out, and not working at home and available for childcare and dinner cooking when I get home from work, as he should be. Harrumph. Hence have bought M+S ready meals for dinner One involves cauliflower so that is ok

I have been eating (too much of) two types of fruit bread. One of them is full of walnuts and I cannot resist.

FrannyandZooey · 28/03/2008 16:45

zippi here are some photos from End of the Road

different festival but gives you idea of venue

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 28/03/2008 16:46

My M&D went to the End of the Road last year and loved it. We were all going to go this year (DD, M&D, my 4 siblings, 3 partners, long lost younger uncle) but I've thrown a spanner in the works by booking flights to Portugal. Bums.

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 16:52

Hello

I am trying to lift my mood with piles more f&v

I'm hoping by tomorrow I will feel better...there is a cold going round, DH was sneezing all over me last night

So I had more strawbs, kiwi & watermelon, and a homemade pot noodle for lunch

Supper is pasta with tomato sauce with rocket, spinach, watercress & parsley stirred through

Zippi I'm sure the weekend will be lovely..can you agree beforehand about maybe having a little breather if necessary half way through...where are you going to be staying?

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 17:44

breather as in coming up for air lol

a hotel

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 17:45

lionheart · 28/03/2008 18:14

Hello.

Am climbing (tentaively) back on the f and v wagon.

Have had smoothie, apples, grapes, and orange so far, after weeks of rubbishy diet (caffeine mainly).

Someone hold my hand.

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 18:21

i have found it really hard to eat this wek for some reason

i have had abanan and my bread and cheese

i am worried now apparrently exh rang dd1 three times last weekend and each time didnt remember speaking to her the previous day so they had the same conversation

i am concerned he is ringing me every day and that he is ring ing me everyday at 1 am his time when he is clearly pissed

yet he hasnt emailed me

as he is my ex and has been for nearly 9 years i am worried about him wanting to chat and also worried now i borrowed money from him

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 18:22

oh i will hold your hand lionheart but i havent been good at all so you probably want a better person

Fullmoonfiend · 28/03/2008 18:35

I have had no proper F&V for days (unless marmelade counts...)

BBBee · 28/03/2008 18:35

FK - I read that you wanted to lift the mood with some piles - I ws expecting news about piles and I braced myself but it was piles of fruit and veg.

I am tired and fell asleep on the setee for aa few minutes - enough time for children to empty box of cereal on the floor.

I trust you are well.
