For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

possibly
I am sorry to point out the bleeding obvious but drinking wine when you are feeling depressed is a really bad idea
seeing as you seem to need a little mothering, I can say it, and you can roll your eyes at me

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 09:45

Morning....

I had 6 hours sleep last night!! Count em!!! 6!!!!!!

That is a record.

What a boring night I had. No puter, no DH, tv on the blink with some useless recorded message from virgin saying 'if you live in BS5 your tv service will be affected' with no mention of how long for. AAARRRGGGHH!!!! Thursday is GOOD tv day. I feel cheated.

Have had 3 clementines and am sticky.

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 10:00

hi eternal what do you study btw

i have had raspberies and oats

and i want to know if any 10/10 have heard of the larmertree festival

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 10:05

I've heard of the larmertree.

I'm starting in September. Studying............................................................................................ ..........Nutrition! Would you believe it.

Feeling better today Zip? I have days like that when everything seems to be going tits up - quite regularly convince myself that I'm either shit or getting depressed and then somehow the next day it lifts.

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 10:07

oh i think i would have been good at nutrition

oh i have end of the world days on a regular basis..for some reason they send me into a panic sometimes i have a real fear of getting terminally depressed

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 10:12

Grim. I get a bit like that about sleep - start panicking when it gets to 9pm.

Not as horrible as your situation as it only affects the evenings.

Fullmoonfiend · 28/03/2008 10:29

Larmertree is supposed to a fabulous festy. Beautiful surroundings and very chilled and civilised as festies go. Family friendly. Tis all sold out though I hear

We fancied it but it meant taking boys out of school before end of term.

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 10:29

the childrens places are sold out but not adults

Fullmoonfiend · 28/03/2008 10:31

ah! Well deffo go then Some lovely music this year (apart from Jools Holland. I am not a fan.)

TigerBollyKnickers · 28/03/2008 11:09

Glad you're feeling better today zip, your posts sound much brighter

I get depressed about my depression iyswim. Viscious circle stuff. Totally weird and unneccessary.

Eternal are you an insomniac? I am the reverse, I can't stay awake.

I must drink less wine. That will help on all fronts I think.

Oh yes and eat more f&v

Franny I ordered some Kiki Superfood, it arrived when I was at work yesterday so I'm off to the Post Office to collect it on the way home.

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 11:19

I never used to have a prob sleeping, could sleep for 14 hours with ease. Now I fall asleep fine but wake up a couple of hours later and can't go back to sleep. Duff.

BBBee · 28/03/2008 11:52

hello

I am supposed to be doing an essay but am so not.

What a miserable day - not a fruit day really.

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 11:57

weather is horrible isnt it

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 12:06

anyone getting the feeling the summer is going to be another write off?

TigerBollyKnickers · 28/03/2008 12:08

this time last year it was all glorious sunshine and unseasonably high temps, so maybe we'll get a nice summer this year

[hopeful]

[deluded]

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 12:13

Hmmm. Last April was awesome, followed by grimness.

This year Feb was pretty good. HAVE WE HAD SUMMER ALREADY?!?!?!?!??!

TooTicky · 28/03/2008 12:15

The sun is out. I expect the weather is feeling guilty as it soaked me to the skin this morning

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 12:16

Where in Wilts do you live TooT? If you don't mind my nosiness....

TooTicky · 28/03/2008 12:19

We're quite near Melksham

TigerBollyKnickers · 28/03/2008 12:36

My jeans are too long and have trailed in puddles and my trainers aren't waterproof and my feet are slightly damp [grim]

There is no such thing as bad weather, just unsuitable clothing (I'm paraphrasing, it's a quote but I can't remember who said it or the exact wording)

witter witter witter

TooTicky · 28/03/2008 12:43

My waterproof coat isn't waterproof

eternalstudent · 28/03/2008 12:43

Ah, I lived in Salisbury for a while.

I hate that wet jeans, trainer thing. Most unsatisfactory. Especially when you get rising damp to the knees and then have to go and sit in an air conditioned office. Hideous.

zippitippitoes · 28/03/2008 12:46

melksham there is a nice comforting place name

good honest arthur negus sort of feel

have you heard of larmertree
