Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

Hello All!

I'm not starting this properly until Tuesday but promise will have no more evening snacking after that until I go on Hol in June (yes, another June holiday-maker!)

I'm Inverted pear shape. 12-14 bottom half but have no waist, just straight up to size 34-36 FF boobs. Most clothes just hang off my boobs. It's a nightmare.

Would it be a good idea to get anyone who has hunger pangs to post here. We could motivate each other. Can see it now:

Dieter 1: Help! I have a craving for chocolate fudge cake.

Dieter 2: Step away from the fudge cake. Put the fork down. etc...

Well, maybe not as silly as that, but you get the gist.

wolfgirl - I can't get to scales until Sunday. Is that too late to let you know my weight (you'll have such a lot of numbers to fill in before Tuesday)? Thanks for doing all this, BTW.

purpleduck · 22/03/2008 10:44

weigh ins!!!???
Didn't read whole thread.

Its ok, I'm gonna brace myself.!

I'm still in.

Whats this about spread sheets?

I'm off to read the rest of the thread!!!

purpleduck · 22/03/2008 10:51

Ok!
My email is [email protected]

I am > ten stone and a (snug) size 12.

I am normally 9 stone and a (snug) size 10.
I am only 5'1", so that makes quite a difference.

I just don't like how my ARMS and SHOULDERS are getting so...so... motherly.

I would love to have company losing some weight, and getting into better shape

Here we go!!

Wolfgirl · 22/03/2008 12:26

JaamyBunny - after Easter is fine, but join us before if you can

purpleduck - dont be embarrassed by what you are, but be proud that you are making an effort to do something about it.

damn! just realised that i'm on this week....already bloated like a beach ball trying to keep the sugar cravings at bay with strawberries and grapes but oh what i wouldn't give for choccy. pity i'm an all or nothing kinda girl

kingprawntikka · 22/03/2008 17:11

Hi purpleduck pleased to see another vertically challenged person on here!!! That makes you, me , Duomonstermum and Peachygirl who are all similar heights.
You and me seem about the same i'm 5ft 1 and weighed 10st3 when i started this .(hopefully a bit less now!!) I was 9 st a year ago, and would like to get back there.
Good idea about the moral support jaamyBunny, especially with a house full of easter chocolate.

Wolfgirl · 22/03/2008 17:48

duomonstermum awwrrr... I feel for you, but tbh, this is not an over night diet eh! a few slippages espesh at this time of year - Easter, and girlie time is acceptable. But someone gave a good tip for sweet nibbles earlier, how about some raw jelly. Its fat free, and very sweet. Or fruit gums.

Try and hang in there darlin' - you'll be OK!

OP posts:
Wolfgirl · 22/03/2008 18:10

Mmmmm.... re-reading that last post, sounds like you only get girlie time once a year! oooh er madame

Hey, I didn't do too bad last night, have started having puccing with tea, whereas before we would giev DD1 a yoghurt and then scoff pudding later at 8-9ish so that has helped, last few nights I have had a glass of lemonade or OJ after dinner and that has been it, I think I need ot buy some squash, I don't normally drink it but water just doesn't cut it sometimes!

Wolfgirl · 22/03/2008 19:54

ah well done CG! Ive done quite well too, other than pud last night with tea. I still dont have scales, but we just won some on eBay and I will borrow some till they arrive.

kingprawn

I've gained my weight over the last year too

And when I was 9st I wanted to lose weight!

I went back to Canada this summer (after 2 years) and a friend of the family pointed at my midsection and said "ohh, at least I'm not the only one -I don't feel so bad.."

GRRR

My sister jumped in and said nice things about me, so at least I didn't have to slap her....

TheJen · 22/03/2008 21:31

I think I may have drifted off somewhere this week but I am back and definitely still up for the challenge. (she says sitting in her fat girl jeans having just eaten a chocolate crispy cake and 2 glass of sherry!) Tomorrow is the day, only 4 weeks until that humiliating walk down the aisle as bridesmaid in a slinky frock so I HAVE to do something drastic. Where do I post my stats then? My email ad is jennielefluff at hotmail dot com
One burning question though... can we drink alcohol after dinner?

duomonstermum · 22/03/2008 21:42

threre's nothing like going to look at wedding dresses when you feel like a whale.... ended up going down the street with a friend who is getting married at the end of the year. nothing like trying on a fab dress that doesn't meet at the back i'll just keep on telling myself that being well endowed in the chest dep limits my choices. i know...cluthing at straws but hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do

got email from my high school boyfriend to say that he's planning on visiting next year. really have to lose it by then. he still remembers me as the svelte young thing i was and i see no reason to spoil his expectations it looks like the whole gang(15) is coming over so must get skates on....

vannah · 22/03/2008 21:43

thanks wolfgirl
Im going to open up a new email address which doesnt use my real name
Ate more substantial meal last night and it worked!

futurity · 23/03/2008 19:51

how is everyone getting on with all the food that is around today? i did full roast at lunchtime and of course there was chocolate around but i haven't gone mad with it.

Finding the evenings ok...as someone said it is nice to have a cut off point knowing that after tea that is it..no snacking...and i've stuck to it and just about got DH to stop offering me drinks/snacks in the evening lol

not sure how much weight i will loose this way but will keep at it..interesting to see how others are doing come the weigh in on tuesday.

TheJen · 23/03/2008 20:21

I had huge Easter Sunday lunch so feeling v miserable. Not much chocolate though but bacon butty just slipped down a little too easily! No pudding though... DH is eating hot cross buns beside me with butter dripping down his fingers... grounds for divorce?

MamaChris · 23/03/2008 20:38

so have abandoned all thoughts of diet today - ds has been v v cranky all last night and today, plus it's easter sunday, so I'm afraid chocolate sugar rush has been the only way to keep going without sleep. but we don't officially start till tuesday, right ? I promise to do better from then!

TheJen · 23/03/2008 20:50

oh we're not starting til Tuesday?... what a relief!

kingprawntikka · 24/03/2008 09:00

Hi everyone, good luck with our official start tomorrow. Wolfgirl i am going away for a couuple of days so won't be around to do my stats sheet on Tuesday. Can you put me on it anyway please. My weight is 10st 1 , my height is 5ft1, my incentive is my holiday in August . thanks
Well i'm off now for a couple of days in the Lake District, unless we get snowed in!! Hopefully i can find a balance between pub meals and long walks and stick to the tea time rule!!

Showmeheaven · 24/03/2008 20:29

Thanks Mellowma - will try that

Wolfgirl - not Bristol but Dublin!

Girls, I am starting tomorrow and can't wait. I was away at the weekend and felt miserable & fat. Onwards & upwards

Also, Ive not done too well for two days since being away HOWEVER, Im home and back on track, so dont you guys worry either if you didnt fare so well over Easter either.

Lets all get back on track.
