Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

kingprawntikka - dont despair my love, just keep going. If it was a bad week last week, or even a bad few weeks, just start again.... today/tonight.

Ladies, I had a thought on the way into work this AM. and I wondered if any of us need some encouragement, or have issues that we could help with - such as what foods to eat, or sickness / depression etc.

Sometimes we eat just for comfort, what is the saying... comfort eating, when we get depresses, or fed up, bored etc. So when it is those times, why not email each other, or catch up here on MN, so we can encourage each other?

For me, I have Chronic Fatigue syndrome, and real sleep issues, and quite often feel quite down. But knowing that I have you guys doing this diet with me, lifts me up. Everytime there is a new post it makes me smile. So I know if I were to post say.... that Im down the dumps I know you guys will be there to tickle my tum! so to speak

what do you think?

OP posts:
Wolfgirl · 07/05/2008 10:04

I can see that we have already been doing that, but what I meant is, that we could shift it up a gear....

not sure I do know what I meant, cos we are encouraging each other already..... anyone know what Im trying to say, cos I might be losing the plot, and just need chocolate! LOL

Wolf - I guess that's right it would be 8st 7....wouldn't that be lovely!

Incentive - well I just feel fat and hideous and that's enough for me. I have a lovely hol planned for the late Autumn but need to sort this out before then as I have a massive fear of turning into my mum (who was more than a bit overweight until recent years when she lost a whopping three stone!)

kingprawntikka · 07/05/2008 15:13

So in the spirit of mutual support and encouragement do i now shout at cadelaide or ask if she enjoyed it!!?
Extra moral support is good wolfgirl, but think i might have to draw the line at this tickle your tum business ... its making me think of a puppy !!
Wish i could say i'd had a bad week last week but i didn't , thats why i'm disappointed. Oh well roll on next tuesday.

kingprawntikka · 07/05/2008 15:17

MNersanonymous thank you for that. i'm hoping for better things next week. I am 5ft 1 and weigh 10st 1 and my target weight is 9 st,!! ... there bet you feel less fat and more gorgeous now!!

suedonim · 07/05/2008 15:17

I lost a mere half pound this week (our scales are very precise!) which I am disappointed with as I was sure I'd lost more. But seeing as Wolfgirl had me gaining half a pound last week when in fact I lost half, I'm pretending it's really a pound I've lost. And I must say, my trousers all feel looser so something must be happening...

Not sure if I posted this before but I try to visualise my weight loss as packets of butter. Half a pound loss doesn't seem much but when I think of a pack of butter spread over my tum/bum, it suddenly seems quite a lot.

MNersanonymous · 07/05/2008 15:33

Thanks King Prawn - I'm looking forward to hearing whether my week delay theory is right - let us know!

So tonight is the first proper night of this for me! I sort of did it last night but dinner was too late at 8pm. Didn't have my usual dessert though.

It's a start....

cadelaide · 07/05/2008 17:11

Well thanks for asking you lot but it was horrid, honestly.

Just fat and sugar, oh yukky yukky, you wouldn't have enjoyed it.

My excuse is the killer migraine i had first thing this morning, believe me the school run was fun! (I know, I know, chocolate is not a cure for migraine).

Anyway, feeling much better and all set up for extreme deprivation this evening.

nappybaglady · 07/05/2008 18:10

suedonim, your butter idea is genius. I think visualisation really helps. I'm going out for a meal tonight with friends. I shall try to stay strong and think of the packets of butter that I'm smearing onto my jelly belly if I eat too much (yuk). Definitely won't have pudding

Wolfgirl, I hope that you don't ever feel low - you're doing a fab job running this & motivating everyone. You should feel v proud of helping so many people

nappybaglady · 07/05/2008 18:13

MNersanon, I'm 5'2" and aiming for about 8lb 7lb too. We can swap clothes when we've reached target!!!!

MNersanonymous · 07/05/2008 19:28

Even better two packets of white lard rather than butter. That stuff is foul looking.

Nappybaglady - how much do you weigh at the moment?

cadelaide · 08/05/2008 11:58

nappybaglady.....so did you have pudding?

suedonim · 08/05/2008 13:12

Or maybe dripping?? Imagine that strapped to your midriff!

I was a bit bad last night, as I was so hu-u-u-ngry. Also, because dd has been ill, I'm scratching round for the last bits and bobs of food for tea, so had a very fattening cheese on toast last night, sigh. Oh well, onward and upward.

cadelaide · 08/05/2008 15:25

Oh dear.

Oh dear oh dear.

I've got migraine symptoms again, never had it two days in a row, you know the awful flashing lights business?

Well I truly do find that sugar helps, and I've had flapjack and cheesecake. The tragedy is i don't even particularly like those things, they were just around.

Bugger.

Hopefully I'll have a couple of really good days before "weigh-in", but i've certainly been crap so far this week.

suedonim · 08/05/2008 15:57

Ouch. I get migraines too and have to have sugar to help alleviate them.

Someone on MN advised that taking two soluble Solpadeine tablets dissolved in full-fat Coke can help and I've found that to be quite good.

cadelaide · 08/05/2008 16:08

aaah.

Thanks suedonim. I also read on here about the coke but i haven't tried Solpadeine.

Off to get some now

nappybaglady · 08/05/2008 19:51

No, I didn't have pudding [virtuous]. In fact I didn't even scoff all the rice. I did, of course, delicately nibble all the radish and carrotty garnish. And I'm currently sitting here sweating because I've just come back from a bit of a run [super virtuous]. Is going to be v difficult not to eat all the carbs in the house for tea though. I'm starving

MNersanon - I'm 9 7 at the mo. I think if I had a good haircut I could knock that down to 9 6!

Wolfgirl · 08/05/2008 20:56

kingprawntikka - hello mrs! I have you down on my spreadsheet as 10st 2lb, but above you say yu are 10st 1lb. I dont want to cheat you of that very precious pound!

Let me know, maybe I missed something

OP posts:
Wolfgirl · 08/05/2008 20:58

kingprawntikka - as you were, I was in the wrong spreadsheet. DOH! yes I have you as 10st 1lb. no worries

NotABanana · 08/05/2008 21:26

Wolfgirl - did you decide whether to let me have Wednesday's weight instead of Tuesdays?

Loving the given up alcohol and coke. would like the very odd glass of lemonade but enjoying my sparkling water and squash. Trying to drink more, and are doing,(TMI coming) though still not enough as wee dark.

MNersanonymous · 08/05/2008 21:46

Hi everyone.
I am feeling the pull of pudding from the kitchen....I will not succumb I will not.
Ugh it's so hard!
I had dinner early and not the biggest portion. Serves me right!
