Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Wolfgirl · 18/03/2008 08:57

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

Thanks Wolfgirl I've managed not to eat anything after about 6pm the past two nights, so am really hoping this is easy to keep up!

Showmeheaven · 31/03/2008 19:51

CHH, great ideas about the wine. I'll definately have to try that. I'm exactly the same - I get bog-eyed on 1 glass! Not good ....

Wolfgirl - going to weigh myself now and will email you.

I've been doing great with the exercise. I don't think I've lost any weight, but I feel great

JaamyBunny · 31/03/2008 22:39

Right, have caught up now...took me ages! Lots of distractions

Nowornever - so very for you and your friend's sudden death. I'm sure she'd be rooting for you in this diet.

Very envious of anyone who is managing to fit in some excercise. The wait will surely come off you quicker. Am currently starting some freelance work mostly at weekends and evenings so means I can't fit any excercise in, though I did walk round to DD's school this morning.

Have done OK today. Had chicken Tikka Massala (low fat sauce) with rice and half a low fat naan bread for tea (about 7pm) and only had a cup of tea since.

Can't remember who had posted about bloating. Have you tried Activia? I know the adverts look a bit smug but my mum persuaded me to try them and I'm now addicted.

Looking forward to getting the spreadsheet this week and I promise I will fill it in, Wolfgirl. Thanks so much for doing this ofr us and giving us a bit of motivation.

Wolfgirl · 01/04/2008 07:39

Morning ladies, Im sending the spreadsheet to you this morning.

Im off to work (am soooooooooo late, should be at my desk at 8am, and here I am sitting in my PJs doing this LOL) so apologies if I have missed anyone, or anything.

speak to you in my break no doubt, or later tonight

Have a nice day xx

Have emailed my weight this morning.

It is cr*p.

futurity · 01/04/2008 08:22

i've emailed my weight and I've lost 1 lb! Not bad for over Easter week The not eating in the evening was a great start for me but have realised that have to be good in the day as well really although defintely allow myself more treats than I would if I was doing a "proper" diet.

bozza · 01/04/2008 10:04

Well I put back on one pound of my two pound loss last week. I am hoping to do better this week. Will e-mail.

Wolfgirl · 01/04/2008 10:09

never mind ladies. If Im truthful, although it seems I lost 2lb, Im a bit dubious because we have just had new scales, and I originally weighed myself on mums scales, and they are ancient and I placed them on carpet. So Im not desperately sure.

ALSO, dont forget to do the following:

Weigh yourself in the morning
No clothes
And make sure the scales are in the same place every week.

Its amazing how you can differ by just one pound by moving the scales from one place to another, floor being uneven, carpet then hard floor etc.

NeverSayNever · 01/04/2008 10:18

Wow first week and lost 3lb!!

kingprawntikka · 01/04/2008 10:41

Morning everyone. 10st 1 today so thats another pound gone. I am going to try and start doing some exercise to speed things along abit.
PurpleDuck How are you doing this week ? We were such similar weights and heights i'm hoping you can be my incentive as well!! I don't want to be reading on here that you are 9 st again and me not be and think "if only i'd stuck with it i would have got there too !!" Hope you had a good week.
I am sick of looking in my wardrobe and not wanting to wear any of the clothes, cos they are all a bit too tight. my summer clothes are going to be even worse !!

suedonim · 01/04/2008 12:08

I forgot to weigh myself and in any case I know I've put weight on while I've been home - so many yummy things to eat! I'll start in earnest when I go back to Lagos next week.

Wolfgirl · 01/04/2008 12:28

suedonim - now then, now then! you dont get off the hook that easy, just because you forgot to weigh yourself.

Today is weigh-in day, so even if you miss today, you can always do it tomorrow morning. Or Thursday. You are NOT off the hook. As for starting in earnest when you go back to Lagos....tut tut tut. Oooooooh no.

LOL, just keep trying m'dear. One day at a time. Tell yourself, tonight!!! Im NOT going to pick. et voila, it will happen.

JaamyBunny · 01/04/2008 13:42

Have weighed on my very own set of brand new scales (which I have nailed to bathroom floor (tiled) so will be weighing in same spot every time. LOL!

Seems I have lost 5 lbs but have put that down to different scales. So starting properly today...22lbs to lose in just under 12 weeks...can it be done? I doubt it but I'll give it a good go!

Well done on the losses ladies!

Bozza - at least you didn't regain all the weight and it has been difficult with all the chocolate around and the DCs being off school, etc.

Suedonim - just because you're going to be a few thousand miles away, don't think we can't keep an eye on you!

MamaChris · 01/04/2008 13:51

well done to all those who've stuck to the rules and lost ! I have to admit I haven't been good, some post dinner snacking most days (and we don't eat dinner till 7.30ish), and it shows with no weight change. will try harder this week. Partly I think I worry that my milk will run low if I don't eat in the evenings, as ds started waking more frequently for feeds the day I started this (was well behaved last week), but snacking in the evening this week he's still been waking lots, so looks like just coincidence.

OK, reading all these weight losses inspires me - will do SO much better this week - promise

Wolfgirl · 01/04/2008 14:09

MamaChris - with you BF, you could try sticking to rules, in so far as you CANT pick after 6pm, BUT you could have your meal a bit later, and make it a jolly big portion? could you try that?

I dont like the sound of you going hungry and starving your body when its working so hard to produce good quality milk. We should re-think what to do for you m'dear.

I know I was always hungrey when BF, and it can really take it out of you. So be careful.

How about, you stop picking through the day, and just eat massive substantial meals, loads of fruit etc, cut out fizzy drinks and rubbish stuff, and I will make an exception for you in this diet.

Wolfgirl · 01/04/2008 14:09

Can you holla if you didnt receive the spreadsheet this AM? ta!

OP posts:
MamaChris · 01/04/2008 14:41

you're right, wolfgirl, starving probably doesn't lead to good quality milk. But I'm only aiming to lose 1lb/wk, and I'm not sure pure chocolate milk is "best for baby" either A good big meal in the evening should be plenty, and I could try to eat bananas or something healthy if I do get hungry later. It's the late night nuts, hobnobs and choccies that were my downfall this week

duomonstermum · 01/04/2008 15:47

didn't do well this week but time to get back in the saddle.... at least the chaos has settled down so it should be easier to stick to a routine.

Wolfgirl · 01/04/2008 15:54

MamaChris -

peachygirl · 01/04/2008 21:11

Wolf girl thanks for your lovely message. I'm putting down my 'maintaining' to several things,
an evening out, AF arriving - bit of a surprise but I have just come off the pill,
and just not really making enough effort although I have not picked for most of the evenings in the week.
Anyway I did lots of walking yesterday and bought fruit and snackajacks for work. so onwards and upwards!!

suedonim · 01/04/2008 22:16

at the 'Spies in the Sky' keeping a watch over me, lol!

We've had a manic day today so didn't even have dinner until 8.30pm. Oh dear.....

JaamyBunny · 01/04/2008 23:54

Wolfgirl - hope you got my email. I've had a message from Microsoft exchange to say that it has "been delayed" and they will keep trying. Have mental image of a little microsoft postman trying to stuff a letter into your mailbox. Anyway, please let me know if you get it...sorry to be a pain. Don't want to resend incase your email is full and I just make matters worse.

Going to bed now (have been doing a bit of work) after having had the urge to nibble about an hour ago...and resisted! Yay for me!!

Don't know what I'll do later in the week when I haven't any work to do, will have to get the exercise bike out (if I can get the cobwebs off it!)

LOL suedonim - I read your post as "Pies in the sky". Food obsessed? Who? Me?

night night all!

suedonim · 02/04/2008 13:21

Lol @ Pies! Sadly, I think have had too many pies as I was 10st this am. Why is it so hard to lose weight and so easy to put it on? I never had a problem with weight until after dd2.

JustJaamy · 02/04/2008 16:37

I have always been up and down with my weight but I suppose the more children you have the more difficult it is to find time to excercise and fix yourslef proper meals instead of just nibbling on the DCs leftovers.

Wolfgirl - have realised that you may not get my email...DH has set me up with a dynamic IP which a lot of email servers don't trust. So I know you'd prefer an email but hope you don't mind if I post stats here. Weight on 1/4/08 - 12st 1lb. Target 10st 7lbs Incentive - Holiday on 22nd June

countryhousehotel · 02/04/2008 19:51

Wolfgirl hope you got my email with my stats, a day late, but better late than never!! i was not to lose anything but will make extra special effort now....thought i'd done really well but think i can do better....tofu salad tonight....! Been really good about exercise but spoke to a trainer at the gym who told me to work twice as hard but for half the time..apparently that will help me burn more fat. I'm v. happy at the thought of spending 25 or 30 mins on cardio instead of 45 or more, but perhaps not so keen on the work much harder bit! So here's hoping next week will be better for us all.....
