For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I did that when ds was born & I lost my income & had nothing
Everything was ebayed

lullabyloo · 20/03/2008 16:41

oh have a good break zipps & try & forget about everything for a bit

filthymindedlurker · 20/03/2008 16:51

I only have 4 nice bits of jewellery (Apart fro wedding ring) but they have all been made for me, out of bits of my maternal grandmother's bits IYSWIM. So I would have been quite devastated to have sold them. But you know when you get to that stage of financial panic.....

BBBee · 20/03/2008 18:20

i went to that hatton place zippi - was bizarre in a nice way. decmped to nice pub up the road for lunch.

BBBee · 20/03/2008 18:25

we are having egg on toast for supper.

UnderRated · 20/03/2008 18:29

What an unpleasant way to start the day, zippi. And it sounds as if the rest of it has been miserable too. I hope things change for the better soon. And that you have a lovely time away. Sending lots of good house vibes your way.

I'm going to email you too, Idris Am glad the dentist was ok.

Great news about the potential jobs, FMV

Hope PSW feels better soon

Pea and pepper frittata

FrayedKnot · 20/03/2008 18:48

Zippi hope your walk goes well...

Sorry to hear veggers are feeling under the weather. If anyone gets the cha\nce to aquire some over the weekend, that Sambucol Elderberry extract is the dogs coglioni.

FMV fingers & toes x for you & DH.

I just had DSD crying down the phone because her DP has been out of work for a fortnight and they recently bought a house together and they can;t pay their mortgage this month... They are so young they should be out having fun not worrying about the mortgage But I suppose rent would be as bad.

I've had lentil and pine nut roast for supper, with raosted parsnips (about 6 portions of ), cabbage & brocolli, and onion gravy.

And 've just tried some soya chocolate. It wasn't great tbh.

TooTicky · 20/03/2008 18:57

Oh god fmv, I hope I hope I hope both jobs work out and everything is wonderful

Yes I know the skintness desperation thing. Have just had to pay entire rent with credit card. Very unsustainable but nowt else we can do atm.

Narks the hell out of me that, if I were richer, I could just change from one card to another chasing 0%s, get a loan which would mean less interest, or just pay the bloody thing off. Seems impossible sometimes

Zippi, hope you have a wonderful time and that the boiler spontaneously reforms in your absence.

TooTicky · 20/03/2008 18:59

Which chocolate FK?

UnderRated · 20/03/2008 19:01

Your poor SD, FK. Money worries are never nice, especially when you are young and should be enjoying life. Hope they sort things out.

My face has erupted like a 13 yr olds. Why am I getting spots in my 30s, whyyyy? So much for bloody F&V

I have hot cross buns in the oven.

FrannyandZooey · 20/03/2008 19:02

FMF very good news about job(s)

Zippi have fun and hope your blister is ok

all poorly people oh dear, I do hope things improve
I second elderberry extract as being most efficaceous in every case

it stopped raining for half an hour! and it was the right half an hour as well
stood around outside town hall in cold - conscience salved for another year
ds very emotional - as it should be I suppose

FrannyandZooey · 20/03/2008 19:03

very sorry for all skintness
I wish elderberry extract would help with that

UR, perhaps your skin is detoxing.

TooTicky · 20/03/2008 19:06

I am preparing dough so that I can bake hot cross buns first thing tomorrow.

UnderRated · 20/03/2008 19:10

I doubt detoxing, but maybe you're right Toots. I am resigned to that fact that I will always look like a teenager. On Saturday, someone asked me if I was still in high school

How lovely that your DS is such an activist, F&Z.

TooTicky · 20/03/2008 19:17

UR, that is a compliment! How old are you anyway?
My aunt once had to visit the school of her teenage sons and whilst waiting outside the office, a senior teacher swept through, eyed her, and asked, "Is this pupil late?"
She was in her 30s at the time.

UnderRated · 20/03/2008 19:22

I'm 30. My mum looks really young and people always ask if she's my sister. Maybe it won't be a bad thing when I am even older, but it feels a bit insulting when I am still asked for ID.

BBBee · 20/03/2008 19:23

egg on toast but I had half a grapefruit beforehand soI didn;t feel too bad. Was a bit like a weird 70s diet.

UnderRated · 20/03/2008 19:26

Oh yes, I remember when grapefruit were quite exotic

BBBee · 20/03/2008 19:27

are you bun-ing tomorow ur?

filthymindedlurker · 20/03/2008 19:45

trust me U, when you are my age, you would give anything to be asked...
I got asked in Sainsburys recently. Was all fluttery and pink and pleased until his horrid colleague came over and sneeered ''You're only s'pposed to ask when it's not bloody obvious they're over 18...'''

Tatties · 20/03/2008 20:17

Everything crossed for you FMF!

Hello everyone

FrannyandZooey · 20/03/2008 20:51

yes I wouldn't mind if people were not sure whether I was over 35 tbh

I think being prone to spots definitely makes you less wrinkly in the long run. But having suffered both I am not sure which I prefer

please tell us definitive hot cross recipes
then I can ponder for about 2 secs whether I can be arsed to make them

have had big stew with everything in, plus rice
grapes, banana, satsuma

I am getting in a state because I can't find the piece of paper with the address for tomorrows consultation. I know I remember it but still I want to see it on the page and I have turned everything upside down and its not here. Why didn't I put it somewhere safe?
