For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh MrsC so sorry to hear your news. I expect it will take a while to sink in. I know everyone has said it, but please say if there's anything we can do.

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 22:34

As for the knife and fork issue, ds1 is 8 and has only recently stopped eating fried eggs with his fingers.

pinkspottywellies · 17/03/2008 22:35

I find it motivating and inspiring to look back on.
I have bright coloured smiley faces, sparkly smiley faces, hologrammy stars and ones with a tick that say 'good effort' 'good work' etc. My sis gave me them when she left her last school. She didn't want to give stickers to her new class!

I think stickers can be quite addictive actually. I tend to hoard them, not being able to decide where to put them, and then the dcs find them and stick them on each other.

I keep seeing 10/10ers

I saw someone walking across a car park last week and thought 'oh it's Boco!' and then realised of course it wasn't cause you wouldn't be up here. Then today I spoke to a lady briefly at soft play who was looking round trying to see if she should help dd over a block or if someone would say 'what are you doing to my baby' and I went over and as we were talking I thought I recognised her. But I didn't she just looked like Tatties!!

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 22:39

They are supposed to be v. good - lets them develop balance without having to pedal at the same time.

ZippiBabes · 17/03/2008 22:41

dont know which is worse imagining you are pregnanat or haiviong periods

well like miost things probably the one that is happening at the time

my rewards tend to be more costly than stickers

the guy who owns the post office next door saw me kissing mon ami last week

he was tsalking to someone in front of the post office and i went put to say goodbye

i felt it was a bit odd to say the post office guy is behind me

how many marks out of ten does this get for embarrassment since i go in the po nearly every day

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 22:46

He will look at you with new respect

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 00:15

lol at public indiscretion, zippi! I can tell you now that imagining being pregnant is very stressful. Obviously there is an easy way to stop imagining and know for certain but it's a bit scary, you know, in case you actually are By not testing you can continue to convince yourself that you are just very very late and hope that it resolves itself asap. Sorry for sharing that, am sure none of you really wanted to know about my menstrual troubles

As for black beans, they are yummy. Like tiny little kidney beans.

We were going to get a like-a-bike but my mum is bringing a puky instead. Like-a-bikes are lovely and lots of toddlers in Germany whizz around on them.

Am ignoring knife and fork issues atm in the hope that we have plenty of time for DS to learn by example.

Mexican Lasagna

Tin of refried beans
1 big tin of tomatoes
corn
black beans
chili powder
other spices (cinnamon, cumin etc)
other veg (courgette, onions, peppers, mushrooms, garlic & anything else lurking in the fridge)
flour tortillas - torn into strips so they fit into dish
Yoghurt/ sour cream
cheese

Make a vege chili type ratatouille from tomatoes, 'other veg' and chili powder & 'other spices'

Add corn & black beans.

Layer as follows:
Chili
tortillas
refred beans (spread over tortillas)
yoghurt/ sour cream

until you get to the top. Finish with grated cheese and bake for a while on 180 - maybe 20 - 45 mins (have no idea how long I cook it)

Easy peasy and yummy.
Tortilla

ZippiBabes · 18/03/2008 00:23

oh i mentioned mine before ur

those like a bike things look nice

i assume post office man has worked out that i am no longer with ex but quite possibly not he did make a comment last week about now i was going on holiday a lot more

in fact living next to the po is probably guaranteed to make you gossipped about

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 00:26

I love that you live next to a post office. It's very British (apparently) and I now have visions of you living in a quaint little village and being gossiped about.

ZippiBabes · 18/03/2008 00:28

well a roewdy town centre

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 00:51

I think I'll stick to my vision of an idyllic village, zippi,

You in a straw hat, floral blouse and blue cordouroy skirt, giving your young man a quick peck on the cheek at the door of your white thatched cottage...

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 00:52

I am at work and am surrounded by:

donuts [sic]
homemade cookies
Chocolate
a huge basket of snacks, granola bars, sweets
cake
biscuits

and I have nothing to do other than stare at all the food

ZippiBabes · 18/03/2008 01:14

well sounds lovely your food and my idyll

UnderRated · 18/03/2008 03:01

I have no self-control so being surrounded by cakes and sugar and carbs is quite torturous. I drank lots of tea to keep myself occupied. And fantasised about the herbs, vegetables and pretty scented flowers you have growing in your sunny cottage garden .

BBBee · 18/03/2008 06:52

zippi

I am meeting a friend and lemington spa is a good midway point but have no idea where to suggest - we don't want to do anything except sit and chat (no children either!) and need to be able to park for free. Though about hatton - what do you think?

BBBee · 18/03/2008 06:54

(and forgive me if i have remembered wrong adn you are somewhere completely different!)

ZippiBabes · 18/03/2008 07:29

hi bbee
well hatton is ok not very exciting if you don't want to do farm or soift play ut there is a cafe there

i start my gardening job this am and the perverse plumber i ave been chasing for the last week has therefore just been at the doort o say he is coming at 8 to tell someone what to do to finish thje work in the house

how perverse as i am going to be out in rural warwickshire weeding today
