For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Sounds like a nice day, Lullabyloo. Toot, are you ok?

Sorry about all the complicated families. Mine is complicated too and things are going to get worse in the not too distant future. However, I am lucky to have a mother, a father and a sister who care for me and love DS to bits. And I shall remind myself of that when things go wrong.

Families, eh?

I'm having one of those anxious-for-no-reason days.

Raisins.
Too much coffee

Do any of you know anything about schools in Copenhagen?

lullabyloo · 11/03/2008 17:48

Dont know about schools UR
but might be going there in May for a long w/e to meet my father

lullabyloo · 11/03/2008 17:49

are you thinking of moving there?

UnderRated · 11/03/2008 18:05

Oh, that's exciting Lully. Someone in my parenting group is moving there for a year and wants to know about schools but no-one can help. I don't think I could live in a foreign country again. Maybe Europe would be different.

FrannyandZooey · 11/03/2008 19:55

Hello everyone.

I'm in and out also but you are all lovely but feisty with it.

FrayedKnot · 11/03/2008 22:08

It's quiet tonight, have just been to yoga...

which refreshes the parts other exercise doesn;t reach

imho

Carry on shouting, BBBee, we love it!

TooTicky · 11/03/2008 22:10

I mean to try yoga one day.

Bee, it is always a delight to see you.

Yes I'm okay thanks Lully and UR. It wasn't recent, it's just one of the undigested things in my mind.

Hi Toot

TooTicky · 11/03/2008 22:27

Hello Lully

Undigested things in ones mind is not fun, Toot. I think I have some in my head too. And I suspect some are indigestable.

Hello to all those whizzing in and out.

We planted seeds (marigolds) today. DS was most upset that he wasn't allowed to eat them and doesn't quite grasp the concept that they will grow into something. He finally seemed to accept that they would grow into flowers. To which he said, "and then we eat them, Mummy?"

lullabyloo · 12/03/2008 08:07

Lol UR
How old is ds?

lullabyloo · 12/03/2008 08:09

Oh...pineapple,strawberries,pear
quinoa
hemp & pumpkin seeds

Am off shortly
Have a good day all

FrannyandZooey · 12/03/2008 08:15

you could plant nasturtiums, you can eat those...ds most unimpressed with all the flowers we tried to grow last year - only wanted edibles. I think I mostly agree with him this year

hello whizzers, please carry on whizzing

melon, grapes, blueberries, raisins

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/03/2008 08:24

Hello ladies. Can one of you veg experts please tell me whether onions count as one of your 5/10 a day?

IdrisTheDragon · 12/03/2008 11:00

Hello. I am sadly not a veg expert, but think that onion could well count as a vegetable.

Discovered I hadn't posted on this thread at all so here I am .

Have made what feels like momentous decision about childcare problems. Am going to stop working which still feels a bit but also .

Have had museli so far today. May eat a banana. I am going to the dentist next week.

TooTicky · 12/03/2008 12:18

Hoorah Idris

Yes, I'm sure onions count.

UR, you can eat certain marigolds. Fmv told me about marigold buns and we made some last summer.
