For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello

Idris, glad you've made a decision and are happy about it - that sounds really exciting!

I had another driving lesson today - 2nd, and was good!

TooTicky · 12/03/2008 14:16

Good news Boco

Chive flowers are nice.
And I have heard that you can eat whole sunflowers.

Hello

I am tired, because DS keeps waking up around 5am coughing

He wants to play trains, I hate plaing trains

Aaaaagh

Idris you sound very happy about your decision, hope it all works out for you

I have eaten blueberries and an assortment of rubbish at a buffet thing at work (free lunch but questionable quality), and some fruitcake, and some chocolate

My DS will happily join in the train playing as well (and has a large amount of track currently in some complicated arrangement in his bedroom). DD would love to join in but is usually relegated to having a small amount of track and one engine.

FrannyandZooey · 12/03/2008 17:32

Idris hope you feel happy about the decision. It sounds scary and good.

Have had more blueberries, am about to have stir fry with carrot, onion (yes it does count), pak choi, mushrooms.

DS received extraordinary package from Mrs Carrot's ds (to whom he is betrothed) today. It is a many-paged booklet filled with cut out pictures of kittens, rabbits, and hedgehogs, glitter, and heart shaped sequins. Oh and 35p stuck on with sellotape. At the back it says "these are some of the pets we can have"

Ds stared at it in wonderment for ages and then said "Now I will HAVE to marry her."

FrannyandZooey · 12/03/2008 17:32

MrsCarrot's dd. Oops.

TooTicky · 12/03/2008 18:28

FK, do you have Brio-type railway? Nobody can not love that. Really. I am a little obsessive about using all the bits though.

Dd1 has arranged a party for dd2's monkey. I seem to have done rather a lot of the cooking but she is enjoying the organising.

Ooo, Idris, that's a big decision.

MrsC's DD sounds lovely. Franny's DS is a very lucky little boy!

Marigold buns sound promising. I used to love nasturtiams but I seem to remember that they take over somewhat.

Glad Boco's driving lesson went well

DS woke up this morning and promptly threw up all then went back to bed and slept til 10 Seems fine now and has eaten non-stop since.

Does one just eat hemp seeds raw - no need to grind or anything?

lullabyloo · 12/03/2008 18:32

I love love love Brio
send all the boys here to play
I got back in time to make blueberry muffins with ds mmmmm

I cannot get in to scrabulous...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
can any
one else log in?

UnderRated · 12/03/2008 18:33

DS and I will play trains too - I love the Brio stuff. We have a cheap Ikea version but it's great. I spend far too long 'helping' build elaborate tracks

lullabyloo · 12/03/2008 18:35

Awwww at Mrs Carrots dd & Franny's ds

ds would so love a pen pal
the mn one didn't ever reply

Wooooo Hoooo Boco
well done

UR..I buy shelled hemp seeds

UnderRated · 12/03/2008 18:53

I used to love penpals. If My DS were old enough I'd love him to have one.

Will look out for hemp seeds this afternoon. A new grocery store opened in our neighbourhood today - it is a small, local chain and claims to be European - I think that just means expensive, but I need to investigate.

FrayedKnot · 12/03/2008 19:45

Please all Brio lovers come to my house and make yourselves at home

I have been playing Brio for over 2 years

I'm ready for a change

Actually I managed to avoid it, we miraculously found some bubbles at the last minute

I've had a ginourmous plate of roast chicken (sorry veggies) with loads of veg and stuffing followed by half a bar of chocolate

What were you saying about being egg-shaped Franny?

IdrisTheDragon · 12/03/2008 19:51

I have been playing Brio for over two years. How old is your DS FK?

FrayedKnot · 12/03/2008 20:07

He's 4 on Sunday, Idris, and I'm pretty sure he had his first little bits of track and one or two engines before he was 2....

God it would be great if we all lived nearby and could chuck the DS's in a room full of Brio and consume vast quantities of coffee and cake blueberries and wheatgrass smoothies

IdrisTheDragon · 12/03/2008 20:35

That would be good. DS has a large bedroom (he got the largest, just) and can fit a lot of track and boys in there (and any girls who play with Something Else).

Also have Playmobil which is fun to play with too .

TooTicky · 12/03/2008 22:04

Okay, so the next meet up should be at the Brio museum in Sweden. All those in favour?

lullabyloo · 12/03/2008 22:07
