For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh hello Toots.

I'm ok - how are you? Just debating if I should go and see Beowulf tonight.

TooTicky · 14/03/2008 22:54

Tonight? Oh, of course, you have different times! Hope you enjoy it if you do go.

I'm okay - worryingly skint but okay. Have just been summoned upstairs by ds1 - he requires reading.

Yes, not 6pm yet, so have lots of time to waste this evening.

Being skint is not fun, I know

Enjoy your reading.

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 08:06

Good morning fruity friends
hope you are all feeling good today

Tatties · 15/03/2008 08:14

Good morning

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 08:18

morning Tatties how are you?

[glad I am not only saddo on the pc at this hour]

Tatties · 15/03/2008 08:26

I am ok. I was a bit migrainey and nauseous yesterday and I am always woosy the day after.

How are you? Is dc2 doing lots of lovely somersaults?

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 08:33

oh yes one actual somersault yesterday i think
otherwise happy to stay with its feet on my bladder
or kicking me in the side at night

do you know what caused the migraine? hope you feel better soon

fruit count: raisins, pear, apple, banana, orange juice

Tatties · 15/03/2008 08:48

Oh yes ds used to love jumping in my bladder

My period is due so I reckon that is responsible for the migraine

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 08:50

but it's the wrong week, tatties

oh dear what kind of a thread is this
we all know each other's business rather a lot

ladywombling · 15/03/2008 08:56

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted much recently, just feel a little lumpen and boring with nothing much to contribute at the moment. F&V consmption has been dire too.

Will read thread now!

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 08:57

oh wombling how could you be lumpen and boring? that is ridiculous
nasty feeling though

ladywombling · 15/03/2008 09:02

Oh Zippi, you are back, I have missed you!

I'm missing FMV too. Hope she is back soon.

100, I am sure the pics were much better than you think, I always think I look different in my head and the mirror, to how I appear in pictures. It's frustrating, esp as I have a very photogenic family, and I am the only one whose face looks like a knobbly and puffy potato!

Lully, sounds rubbish at the moment, I am with Franny on the muttering under my breath. Sending lots of positive vibes your way.

TooT, yay on no more annoying job, it sounds yuk!

ladywombling · 15/03/2008 09:07

Boco - hurrah, I managed to miss that you had started driving lessons.

Franny, how is your cold, better, or still brewing?

Pink, you are putting me to shame with you 10/10 ness, at the moment, I bet you look and feel fabulous. And big cheers on the yoga, as an ex yoga freak, I know how hard that is.

I weighed myself this week - it was v v bad news. Am feeling very middle aged and frumpy!

Tatties · 15/03/2008 09:22

Oh Franny tell me about it. The moon is a bit slow this month

Hello lovely Wombling

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 13:46

Wombling [disbelief] again at you being middle aged and frumpy
I can believe you are curvier but not that you are frumpy

my cold - I think I might have got away with it. I have been necking elderberry like nobody's business and I feel fine today. Just have very slight suspicion it will be back tomorrow full force. Hope not.

Have been sporting. It is going to be hilarious if I do manage to go on working till the end of May as I am hoping and there is a galumphing thing taking the sports class. I am having trouble doing lots of things already and having to say "well I can't do this but I want you to balance on your tummies".

Just about to have lunch and then am going to flob about all afternoon and read.

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 13:47

LOL at moon being slow

FrayedKnot · 15/03/2008 14:39

Hello lovely veggers

We have a bouncy castle

and no rain as yet....half an hour 'til kick off

To keep in the spirit I have done some carrot sticks and cucumber batons - will any of them eat them??

Anyway hope everyone has a good afternoon and may be back later depending on level of exhaustedness

lullabyloo · 15/03/2008 16:19

it's raining here

Ds & I went to see Horton Hears a Who
it was quite good

breakfast of pineapple,strawberries,mango
apple & cinnamon porridge
& lunch
large salad with kidney beans & houmus
made up for the large amounts of ice cream & popcorn consumed at the cinema.

Dh is biking, tomorrow he is racing cars

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 16:22

oh hoorah for the bouncy castle! I do love a bouncy castle

ds would eat the carrot sticks and he would also stay longer than anyone else at the table eating sandwiches and cakes until I felt embarrassed

I've had a bath and am in my pjs
ds and dp out in the park feeding a big horse, apparently

S1ur · 15/03/2008 16:24

Am signing in but have diddly squat to report as I have been poorly and managed a piece of cucumber and two bites of bread.

Good luck Frayedknot

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 16:27

awww Slur
well done on the cucumber

hope you feel better soon

Tatties · 15/03/2008 16:31

Oh how lovely to be in your pjs now Franny We have been out all day and home now with dinner in the oven feeling invigorated

The thing with the moon is that when my period is due before, sometimes it feels as though my body still wants to wait for it so I end up being premenstrual for longer

FK hope the afternoon went well, ds would also eat the carrot sticks

Wombling you are not frumpy at all!

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2008 16:36

"how lovely to be in your pjs now Franny "

why thank you Tatties, I am sure many other people are thinking the same, although it was a bit forward of you

Tatties · 15/03/2008 16:41

Oh LOL I hadn't thought of it like that
