For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

The mad professor clothes would swing it for me, with your lovely friend. I think I have a weird perversion for elbow pads and crumpled cordaroy.

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 18:20

oh yes, corduroy with his shirt HALF hanging out - only half

oops I said I wasn't going to discuss it anymore

anyway why were you JoanofArk? I am glad you have stopped. I was ignoring it as I didn't want to reinforce the negative behaviour

Me?
What?
Don't know what you're talking about.

FrayedKnot · 22/02/2008 18:43

Hello!

I'm sorry I was awol last night DH wanted to talk

Have had fruit salad bowl and shepherd's pie with carrots, caluliflour and beans in it. Not great, today.

Have been to the bike shop with DS to see what size bike he should have for his birthday. They were all jolly expensive and he is just at the wrong stage height-wise, almost too big for a 14" but not big enough for a 16".

Dinny, I have lost weight since doing 10/10. I think about half a stone. Please tell me all about ashtanga! I have just started yoga again but I guess it is just ye olde Hatha we are doing...I do love the names for everything, DS & I have been practising our downward dogs today

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 18:44

Forgot to say Gnorman man sounds like something magical out of a film, and Franny do you know if he can be hired out, honestly?

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 18:46

I will ask

Swoon at Gnorman man, welcome Dinny, hello veggers. Boco, have you tried TooT's wizard?

filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 20:05

I ma very excited - there are around 4 festivals near us this tyear and we are going to them all!!!

I have just asked MNHQ if we can have a separte festivals topic. I know you won't be interested this year Franny, but I know Toot is partially to rolling around in the mud in the name of music, so if anyone fancies backing me up in my plea I'd be grateful....

UnderRated · 22/02/2008 20:34

Franny, your friend sounds fab - I wish I had friends who were so creative with DS.

I didn't know 10/10 was a cliquey thing. I thought is was quite friendly. But then I just barged in one day and didn't leave.

Where's BBBeeeee? I hope AViatrix & her dental problems are ok.

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 20:37

oh NO I will absolutely oppose that
if I can not go to festivals why should anyone else?
and I was going to be WORKING at one this year as well, sob

[windswept]

Hello veggers. We are back. We are exhausted and happy and salty. JJ had a riot of a time, and ds1 found a REAL and PROPER fossil. Was very exciting.

ahundredtimes · 22/02/2008 20:40

Shall I read thread now?

Tomorrow.

Hope all well with all.

UnderRated · 22/02/2008 20:45

How exciting, ahundred!

for Franny missing out on festivals.

MrsCarrot · 22/02/2008 20:57

I'd forgotten you were going to Lyme, 1OOX, what fun. Was the weather good? I like collecting things like amber and fossils on the beach.

MrsCarrot · 22/02/2008 20:59

and thanks to one of those clicky threads I have realised that i don't have to have arse-wipingly boring pages on the thread. It was so tedious trying to work our what end the number was.

UnderRated · 22/02/2008 21:02

Where is the thread about us being a hippy clique?

MrsCarrot · 22/02/2008 21:08

here

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 21:17

oh bah, I am not really moping about the festivals, I shall look forward to them next year I hope
if I was proper intrepid type I could go anyway but I am not and shall not

100 you sound all exhilarated and blustered. lovely

I haven't done food. I am doing quite well this week I think. Had hummus and mange tout for lunch, then big salad for dinner.

MrsCarrot · 22/02/2008 21:25

I turned yesterdays soup into curry with a tin of coconut milk and some tiger prawns. It was delicious.

I am watching Meet Joe Black on channel something. It is such a cliche to fancy him but I have limited myself to prossecco on Fridays and drunk it too quickly and now I am sort of swooning at the TV. I am thinking that some 30 year old's are out having a wild time.

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 21:26

is that Brad Pitt? I didn't get Brad Pitt until I saw Fight Club

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 22/02/2008 21:32

Yes, he was good in that too.
