Turn around stir fries, every now and then I feel a part (of a mango)

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh boco sorry about rash. I wish i had some advice but i don;t. I wouldn't trust the wizard but am cynical about all things. Don;t cry though. Please don't. I think that blue tit was very old anyway.

dinny - do you drink coffee? What kind and how important is it to you?

TigerFeet · 22/02/2008 11:58

Boco, that sounds like the pits. Rashes are really miserable when they just won't go away.

On the subject of wizardry homeopathy would I be completely insane to give my amazing non-sleeping child a herbal sleep remedy? I am knackered.

filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 12:33

depends on the remedy.. eg hemlock is a herb and will put the little darlinks to sleep...permanently..!

TigerFeet · 22/02/2008 13:07

[tempted]

[joking]

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 16:48

Oh Boco I really thought it had cured you forever and it would never come back. You had converted me, kind of. If it worked once perhaps it can work again? Get her to try harder and put MORE magic in the water.

A friend looks after ds on a Friday afternoon for me while I am working, and this week as she was busy her dh did it. He went round the park last night burying things, and presented ds with a letter today, from a gnome called Gnorman, asking him to please go on a mission to find his lost treasure. They went off with a compass, a spade and a clue, and came back with a Hat of Wisdom, a Gnarled Coin and god knows what else. The man is barking. Ds is ecstatic. I thought they were going to get arrested.

Wow - that's fantastic. Could he go on tour?

dinny · 22/02/2008 17:51

lol, FMV!

  1. Where do you stand on mangoes? Are they too often cunting disappointing or are they gift of the gods?

a triumph of hope over adversity - the latter

  1. Do you have interesting neighbours who paint dead trees blue or similar?

negative. he puts down cat repellent, so as to repell our darling kittens - sniff

  1. Do you take any exercise so that some of us can feel inadequate and have to mumble defensively that we, y'know, walk a lot

yes, afraid I am ashtanga devotee (yes, really)

  1. Are you a Smiths fan? yes, yes and yes - always

  2. Are you prone to having slightly surreal impulses such as, ooh, let's say ordering a pedal boat from the council as a sandpit...randomly appearing with a puppy called Johnny Jet, or accepting a canal boat in lieu of redundancy payouts.

totally, drives dh mad

6)Do you have any medical problems which might be solved by homeopathic wizards?

yes, have had numerous morning sickness treatments - all failed miserably

  1. Your views on Cake. (essay required, 2000 wods minumum) hmmmmm, am not cake mad, have feeling this will mean I have no chance of being accepted
filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 17:53

Hmmmmm.

What do we think veggers? Stirling work let down by cake apathy......

dinny · 22/02/2008 17:56

note the inability to do italics, pathetic!

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 17:57

ok I will probably have to get this deleted in case my friend reads it but her dh is SO attractive to women and has no idea about it

he does insane things like the Gnorman conquest

he is completely wildly intelligent and boffiny

he looks about 12 and dresses half trendy half mad professor

he can sing - and not only can but does

shame (for the rest of us) about his gorgeous Swedish wife with a doctorate eh?

oh god he is half in love with my ds also. he says he is a 'remarkable child'

Boco · 22/02/2008 17:58

Can you drive?

Does chocolate, or has it ever, made you cry?

What do you think quinoa looks like?

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 17:58

ok I think the Smiths devotion and the mango quote win the day

we will work on the cake thing

HOLD ON A MINUTE
we are meant to be encouraging healthy eating not cake

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 17:59

oh, he sounds divine.

dinny · 22/02/2008 18:01

Can you drive? YES

Does chocolate, or has it ever, made you cry? NO

What do you think quinoa looks like? I DON'T THINK, I KNOW - MY FAVE THING EVER IS KEEN-WAH and PUY LENTILS.

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 18:02

yes he is and he has not got a CLUE that he is

I wish I could describe him better
I think Greeny will hopefully meet him so she can report back also (mind you she has funny taste about things so will not be conclusive)

I will tell you who must NOT be allowed to meet him. HC. She would take one look at him and eat him alive

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 18:02

ah rats. I've been outclassed by a 10/10 newbie

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 18:03

oh dinny can drive [disappointed]

no dinny she means, how would you describe quinoa in appearance? I mean, do you think it looks like...erm....breadcrumbs, or cottage cheese, or.....erm (completely fails to think of good example)

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 18:04

ah we don't like newbies remember

we can't do, we are cliquey, or something

lots of people said so

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 18:05

oooh, Is HC a maneater then??

If I were in FMV mode, I'd have a crack at making him blush , mwhahahar>>

filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 18:06

ohthat's right, we're cliquey hippies...

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2008 18:07

oh ANYTHING makes him blush

right I am going to stop discussing my friend's dh on the internet now. It feels unethical.

OP posts:
dinny · 22/02/2008 18:08

ooh, that's difficult... probably like a cross between semolina and cooked lentils...

filthymindedvixen · 22/02/2008 18:13

franny, you or dh Star Trek fans by any chance? I've found a fab Trekkie/Brokeback Mountain pastiche which I want to share!
