For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Ooh, hello Idris
I have another pair of 2-3 trousers which would probably be more useful to you than us - would you like them?

IdrisTheDragon · 14/02/2008 22:43

That would be lovely

TooTicky · 14/02/2008 22:49

Okay, will do

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2008 08:00

Morning chaps
orange, raisins, apple, kiwi, grapes

have questioned ds further about yesterday but his favourite bit turned out to be "all of it" ( the usual helpful reply when he doesn't want to think of an answer)

he has told me quite a lot about his plans for him and MrsC's dd, though. Apparently they are "not going to have a wedding party, we'll just live together. Unless there is cake?"
Me: "Well there would definitely be cake."
Ds: "Oh well we WILL get married then. And I want to have 20 children, like Bach , and we will dig a big pit in the garden and keep whales. If you care for whales they get to love you and they jump up and kiss you on the nose."

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2008 08:02

oh and THE BOAT is being delivered today [panic]

zippitrippitoes · 15/02/2008 08:07

Much strength to you Avi.

TooTicky · 15/02/2008 09:21

Ds1 once put a whale on his Christmas list, along with "meet Bill Oddie". Please don't ever tell him I told you about this.

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 09:50

Oh I do like the sound of your meeting. I'm pleased everyone had such a jolly time. I am particularly keen on MrsC's dd and her wrinkling nose. She sounds like a winner to me.

I have got out of bed. I think I have flu. I am happily spaced on Day Nurse. I slept all day and all night

Today I have decided to be better.

We are going to Lyme Regis for a few days next week to look for fossils. Isn't that nice? I am looking forward to it.

I hope OR is okay. I think in those freezing conditions you should seriously consider hibernation. It'd be good and we could bring small morsels to your door ready for spring.

TigerFeet · 15/02/2008 09:52

at the arrival of the boat.

You can row it out to look at the whales.

OverRated · 15/02/2008 14:27

Oh, that's funny - I was wondering about the boat yesterday.

Hope the dental stuff goes well, Avi

lol @ me hibernating. That's exactly what I want to do. Small morsels of cake would be lovely

Hope you feel better soon, ahundred.

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 14:44

gosh, you have all been very busy and exciting?
I am back from our Stratford adventure. The boat (which is now our boat!) is a bit shabby and had no heating at all. So I am now sitting here appreciating central heating VERY much!
Bidford where the boat is moored is beautiful and felt very at home in the park with friendly local children and swans etc.
We visited Stratford but it was extremely extremely, heart-stoppingly cold and the children fouind a fantastic adventure playground and dh and I stamped around muttering '' can we go yet'' a lot.

It was quite roMANTIC ON THE BOAT - WELL AS ROMANTIC AS YOU CAN GET NOT DARING TO REMOVE SO MUCH AS A SOCK FOR FEAR OF frostbite

No we don't know whether to sell the boat (and get less money as it needs ddoing it) but we need the money, or keep it (£125 a month mooring fees notwithstanding) and play at having a second home,,,

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 14:45

so is everybody getting boats

TigerFeet · 15/02/2008 14:55

yes zippi

here's mine

dh is thinking of trading it in for this

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 14:56

lol

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 15:04

zippi do you live in stratford then?
beautiful place (if feckin cold...)

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 15:05

not far from

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 15:06

ah bugger, if i'd seen that post before i set off, i'd have suggested a meet-up!

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 15:06

lol i thought you were subtlely ignoring it

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 15:09

as if!

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 15:09

Golly it's like Swallows and Amazons here today.

It sounds quite fun FMV. Even more fun in the summer I should think. Am excited thinking about Franny's sand boat too. Will it need tar or whatever you put on boats to stop them rotting?

I don't know much about boats.

OR we MUST discuss Obama at some point.

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 15:10

yes, it was fun, but there is that slight feeling of elation at having survived an ordeal...

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 15:11

I am deeply envious of franny's sand boat and am only on here in case she posts a picture...
