For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

We won the school quiz once. I got drunk over-excited and jeered at the school teachers' team as only one of the people on our team had a degree...

never dared go back since,

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2008 18:14

WHERE IS TOOT? she has NOT got a note excusing her this weekend

Littlerach and anyone else newish but actually in the country, do you know we are having this small meet up in London this month? Let me or MrsC know if you want to come - it's on Sun 24th, I think

ds has just said "how do you know when you are as frisky as a salmon in a fast flowing stream?" He listens to story tapes and then regurgitates them whole, without chewing first.

Hsve just eaten roast parsnips, roast carrots, roast beetroot, sweetcorn, yorkshire puddings with onion and mushroom gravy

do you know,. i hate it when i share something sordid/shameful and everyone briskly ignores it in the manner of ignoring a vile old uncle who is audibly farting at a tea party.

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 18:42

jeering at anybody is naughty..you should be gracious winners and losers

i had a pasta tea cos dd1 made it and i always think it makes me too sloth

so i have had lots of coffee fluids today andf i amd working and then i have to write an assignment..i am not confident of going to bed early

ds and dd2 bf moved all my bricks ds is so lazy bf was working about ten times as hard while ds seemed to pick up the odd brick dust his hands and then lean on the brick pile intersperesed with isits to the kitchen

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2008 18:48

oh sorry FMF I didn't find it so shameful as you so didn't think it necessary to comment

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2008 18:49

FMF we jeered too, at everybody. And this woman was making me laugh so much at our table, that I fell off my chair. And EVERYONE HATED US.

There. I have embraced the rude, farting uncle.

Tatties · 03/02/2008 18:54

I wish I could Avi! I shall email you although I have nothing exciting to report YET

Ds LOVES Pizza Express olives, in fact it's just about all he will eat when we are there... well, that and ice cream

I was just wondering about TooT as well

Hello anorak and lionheart, and everyone

OverRated · 03/02/2008 19:13

I love that zippi has a 'spare' house. Although it doesn't sound quite as glamourous as one would hope.

I juts made Baba Ganoush.

Is it Shrove Tuesday on Wendesady? They don't have it over here for some reason so I never remember when to make pancakes.

Good news littlerach.

Franny, what on earth did your DS do when Ofsted were there?

Lovely talk of seacows and monsters in the toilet. DS sometimes peers down and says "Look Mummy, I made a snake. Big snake. Hi snake "

Johnnyjet sounds as fabulous as ever. Cingrats on winning the quiz The tudor house sounds lovely.

Gosh, not being able to face wine. That's a tough one, Anorak. Crisp butty sounds like a good way to start the day!

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 19:23

I love olives ful stop never mind if they are the crap ones on pizza

i also am not put off wine

or coffee

for more thn about 5 minutes

yes the spare house is an ironic expression which suggests my potentially wealthy lifestyle

i like to imagine it like that

fullmoonfiend · 03/02/2008 19:24

ah Zippi - you are Xenia really, aren't you!

lullabyloo · 03/02/2008 19:25

ds is an olive slut too
he isnt at all put off by the incipid pizza express ones...ah but they must be black...green ones are the food of the devil

OverRated · 03/02/2008 19:25

Didn't meant to make light of zippi''s house. I know it is complicated and hard work etc - I just love that you call it a spare house

fullmoonfiend · 03/02/2008 19:26

he's so right, green olives are the devil's bogies....!

OverRated · 03/02/2008 19:27

Oh dear, I seem to be an olive slut too.

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 19:30

oh no i agree with you overated i call it the spare house cos it makes me laugh

it is the worse thing i ever did in fact..well it isn't far from it which in fact makes it even worse as it isn't even the worse thing

it is also a rather glaring symbol of my crap decision making at every possible level and if i thought about it really hard i would be incredibly despondent

i just have to gloss over it and make a mockery or i would go mad

i've been doing it so long i am incapable of finishing it and i don't even know what to do with it

and it has cost a ridiculous amount of money

TigerFeet · 03/02/2008 19:38

I went to a product panel at work once where they were panelling a feta-ey olivey thing dressed in olive oil. "Where are the olives from" asked colleague. "Satan" said I, for it is true.

We went swimming today. Shall I just present myself at A&E now?

porridge with blueberries & sultanas
baked beans
mahoosive salad with prawns
chicken in tomato sauce with leeks, carrots and romanesco [ponce]
banana after swimming

Zippi can you not just sell the spare one?

wheelybug · 03/02/2008 19:40

..pokes head round door and wonders if a newcomer would be allowed to join in ?

Have started running and want to match this healthkick with a dietary one too. Am good on veg but not so good on fruit. Partly because I can't be bothered to prepare it and partly because if I'm hungry I usually want savoury.

Today I would class as a not so good day in terms of what I've eaten veg/fruit wise -

butternut squash and sweet potato soup fpr lunch
then for dinner I have just made a huge side salad with peppers/leaves/cucumber/tomatoes/avocado and I'll have a sweet potato with it (am bizarrely allergic to real potatoes so have a lot of sweet potatoes)
and I'll have some olives pre-dinner

Surprising when its written down although a lot foof these aren't portion size that makes 8 different types.

Have also just made a big fruit salad to put in fridge for dd and I to pick at (she loves fruit and well exceeds her necessary intake - I should copy her !) during the day tomorrow.

SOrry have waffled on without waiting to see if I'm allowed in .

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 19:48

i can't sell either..welcome wheely think newcomers are better than some of myself

it isn't finished

and i am waiting for a couple of weeks of exh wages to pay for the rest lol

and everything goes wrong an engineer is coming to look at the shower next week it has a leek where the mains water comes iont ot the meter ihave to have a load of carpentry jobs done cos the carpenter went awol and the outside has to be done too

and for tax reasons i have to live in it or pretend to

it is functioning as a reminder of what can happen if madness asets in

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 19:49

i apologise to all th ep edants i am having a partic bad week

TigerFeet · 03/02/2008 19:56

Hmmm yes Zippi I have a friend with a spare house because she needed to move and couldn't sell the original. Massive pita imho

Fret not about the typing we can decipher you

Fabulous title btw

DD is asleep and dh keeps shuffling towards me on the sofa so I suspect I will have to log off shortly and pay him some attention . Not sure if that will involve any swallowing of passion(fruit).

FrayedKnot · 03/02/2008 20:02

Welcome wheely

Thread prerequisites are...ummm...

Well, eating lots of f&v

Understanding zippi's posts

Being prepared to discuss many other things than f&v

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 20:03

well i don't even have the excuse this one was self oinflicted pain

and of course i want to move an dhave to houses to get rid of

that is if i get my arse into gear and apply to falmouth

no doubt another crazy plan in the sperm chasing egg stage
