Dedicated Swallower of Passion (Fruit) - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

and what, pray, is a boff?

FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2008 20:06

LOL you have all seen my messy kitchen and clean dining room table anyway, what more do you want

MrsC I am thinking it must be a boffin. In other words, a rude term for someone who has done something better than you

ah, I see. Well, I have just eaten a chocolate muffin with the second glass of wine if thats any comfort. I am also trying not to look at Lully's chocolate site though I will confess it has been bookmarked.

I get the salty sweet thing though, lots of sweet cakes are actually very salty, like my muffin. I do not, however, get chocolate covered pretzels for some reason.

Pink - did you do the 20? We were on 55556 but I'm not sure whether to increase each split or do one long one.

pinkspottywellies · 07/02/2008 20:24

MrsC I did 8,5,8. It was surprisingly ok and I could have pushed harder.

You lot drinking wine has inspired me. I have a glass of white!

Tatties · 07/02/2008 20:28

MrsC tell me about morrocan mint please, what make is it?

Boco · 07/02/2008 20:29

Quiche for lunch with salad and avocado and tomato.

Aubergine stew for supper with lots of vegetables and one of those cunting mangoes for pudding - was rotting and unripe, bastard.

ZippiBabes · 07/02/2008 20:33

MissCreant · 07/02/2008 20:39

MissCreant · 07/02/2008 20:39

pink, when does the 20 come in, end of week 5?

Tatties · 07/02/2008 20:41

Thanks MrsC! They have Dragonfly teas at my healthfood shop so I will look for it there. I love peppermint tea

pinkspottywellies · 07/02/2008 20:44

Yes Saturday, apparently, I will run for 20 mins without stopping. In my 5 mins warm up walk today I kept smirking to myself at the sheerridiculousness thought that I was meant to be doing 8 mins. But I did and I was fine! I would do 2 longer stints if I were you then go for the 20 mins. (but I'll let you know on Sat!)

MissCreant · 07/02/2008 20:45

It was nice, much better than usual.

FrayedKnot · 07/02/2008 20:52

Hello!

It's only taken me 15 minutes to catc h up

Spangly pants sounded good - i love things with stars on...a hang up from being a big fan of Wonder Woman I think...god I wnted to be Lynda Carter soooo much

I think chocolate is contributing to my migraines so I'm not looking at the links

I've had fruit salad with melon, watermelon, kiwi, grapes, blueberries (perhaps 3 portions?)..purple sprouting brocolli, peppers, an apple, hummous.

FrayedKnot · 07/02/2008 20:54

I've been having nettle tea lately which is extremely nice with half a spoon of manuka honey in it

pinkspottywellies · 07/02/2008 20:56

Has any one seen the thread 'How often do you resist poting on mumsnet or post a much milder response than you want to, just to avoid seeming like a big cow?'? I thought it was 100x but obviously it's affecting everyone at the minute!

filthymindedvixen · 07/02/2008 21:23

no, haven't seen thread but the answer from ame is all the time > I post a mild reply and then sit shouting at the screen ''yer poncey, unreasonable rotton mango person''

FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2008 21:41

just for a change we got a cunting papaya with our veg box
ds was so excited, yet it is already rotten - rock hard and rotten
