For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I kept reading that as dark chocolate salted Camels.....

Now I count myself as generally v. good on fairtrade/ethical products but I struggle to remember with chocolate. I don't find it that available and I'm in London. Must try harder.

Right so far today

Raisins
little bag of carrots
left over pasta from last night with brocolli in it
apple juice

Just about to have snack of hummus on seedy ryvita and a fruit salad (thats a ryvita with seeds on, not one which has been up to something untoward) then am out tonight at book club so not sure what veg I will consume there (probably not much - maybe some olives...).

TooTicky · 07/02/2008 17:23

You mustn't salt camels. It makes their fur itch.

wheelybug · 07/02/2008 17:28

Noted.

filthymindedvixen · 07/02/2008 17:29

And then they drink more water and their humps explode...

I have a new working hoover and I'm disproportionately happy. In fact, I'm going to go hoover some more now.

Then we are all having a chinese feast....

TooTicky · 07/02/2008 17:31

Hoorah. Hope it lasts longer than 6 months.

filthymindedvixen · 07/02/2008 17:32

tbh I don't care - it was only £30
(ex-showrtoom model VAX thingy)

TooTicky · 07/02/2008 17:33

Ours was from Lidl or Aldi. It's better than the Electrolux we bought before.

BBBee · 07/02/2008 17:49

baked potato with coleslaw and salad
pasta with mushroom sauce

that is all - that is crap isn't it.

FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2008 18:17

"I have had salted caramels from hotel chocolat and they were as orgasmic as they soound."

are you all mad? They sound HORRIBLE. How can something that is sweet and chocolatey be nice with salt in it?

Have had:
burgers in a roll with cheese
homemade coleslaw with red cabbage, carrot, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, and raisins
avocado
potato salad
extraordinary mixed oriental salad leaves, about 30% of which seemed to set my mouth on fire. It was like playing russian roulette with vegetables.

Oh no you people. Chocolate and salt is yummy. Do you remember the Pretzel Flips that came out about 12 years ago. Salty pretzels covered in chocolate

Oh my GOD Lully. That website has chocolate and shoes.

FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2008 19:50

Slingy people - could you come here please?
I need recommendations for a summer sling and a very secure sling I can work in

I had a great big stir fry last night and now I'm going to make a courgette frittata with baked beans. I had OJ, a pear and some lettuce today. AND I exercised and I'm going on the running thread to tell about it

Oh speaking of slingy people who helped me decide on one (Avi, TooT, anyone else) I got it ages ago and used it about twice but I started using it again when dd wasn't well and now she brings it to me and we cook together! She's very good at helping me stir and she sat on the worktop the other night with her little plastic knife 'chopping' carrots. She's great

pinkspottywellies · 07/02/2008 19:56

I'm really disappointed that Avi's not going to Franny's! And it's nothing to do with me
