For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Mine is lentil & bacon with a few other bits and bobs thrown in for good measure. I brought it to work for lunch but I am only just feeling hungry now and I finish in 15 mins - -plenty more at home though so I may have some when I get in.

Have also had a couple of biscuits. Healthy eating not going too well atm.

FrannyandZooey · 04/02/2008 16:09

LOL at "I hereby declare them cunting"
oh god it does not take much to amuse me, a bit of crossed out profanity does the trick

that zzooey person seems to have only joined to discuss Steiner - she says she isn't a mum, so I can't see it being a problem in the long term can you?

have had some mixed salad and some melon and grapes. And some fairy cakes with chocolate on the top - well ONE, as we only had enough sugar to make 5 of them!

Booja Booja are the most fab vegan truffles - absolutely amazingly delicious and luxurious.

so glad my title was appreciated - it is the most catchy song known to man or vegger I think

MissCreant · 04/02/2008 16:20

Oh, I love a bit of crossed out cunting too. It's so expressive.

Franny - that was a disappointingly reasonable response to your semi name usurper, I was expexcting 'how very dare they' at least.

FrannyandZooey · 04/02/2008 16:23

oh I can't be arsed
it must be the hormones
shall i go and have a bit of fisticuffs with them?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 04/02/2008 16:24

MamaG I am sorry you had to eat the banana twice. Was it a particularly lively one?

OP posts:
MamaG · 04/02/2008 16:26

fullmoonfiend · 04/02/2008 16:31

MissCreant · 04/02/2008 16:33

ew, MamaG!

Franny, no fisticuffs, no, peace and love all around.

I am having fajitas for dinner and I am looking forward to them very much. I will attempt to stuff them with vegetables and salsa and guacemole.

ladywombling · 04/02/2008 16:53

Hello all,

Moony, can you please send me the book circle addresses email again, my laptop is kaput, and I can't access old mail, thanks v much!

have to dash, DS is screaming!

Boco · 04/02/2008 17:01

Hello

Not too good at f&v today. I've had mostly 3 biscuits and some tea.

I'm going to make a healthy dinner now though, but not decided what. What is really really easy? I've got back ache and tummy ache and a head ache and need something I can make without trying very hard.

FrayedKnot · 04/02/2008 17:08

Hello everyone

I can still move after gym induction which seems a marvel

I think considering it is 5pm and I haven;t started anything for supper, we will be ahving a stir fry.

Have had bowl of fruit and leftover lentil moussaka for lunch which may have contained 0.2 of an aubergine (there wasn;t much left)

MrsC that sounds terribly painful and upsetting. When DS' top teeth came through I had to phone NCT BF counsellor for the first time in 9 months begging for help because DS was gnawing at me...but not really biting.

Hopefully it was just a one-off.

fullmoonfiend · 04/02/2008 17:10

will do, your ldayship!

fullmoonfiend · 04/02/2008 17:11

I hope it was a one off too, FK, it's still really sore. Little blighter.

Boco - how about pasta with anything you've got in the fridge and some pesto? Or beans on toast with tomatoes, I often have this when I really can't face cooking. I tried to send you something today but I was rushing before school and I thought I had your address somewhere in my e-mail but I don't. Can you text or e-mail it to me again. Thanks.

fullmoonfiend · 04/02/2008 18:33

You could have beans with anything, eh MrsC?

or scromlet? (eggs scrambled with mushrooms, cheese, spring onions, spinach, tomatoes...whatever

FrannyandZooey · 04/02/2008 18:49

Boco there's nothing wrong with pasta, or a sandwich IMO, but you have probably done it now. Hope you feel better physically soon - can you have a hot bath when dc are in bed?

My goodness, you all posted a lot last night and this morning!

Well I felt quite a lot better yesterday and DH took me out for lunch. Mixed salad, lobster thermidor and fresh veg and heavenly baked potato with butter. I know it's only a baked potato but a proper one baked just right in the oven, not 'spud ding'. Mmmmm.

With the lobster dinner you get a free bottle of zinfandel and DH had to drink it all what with my odd preferences at the moment. So I added to my F&V with two glasses of OJ.

TigerFeet · 04/02/2008 19:31

Boco hope you have eaten and are now soaking in the bath. Have an easy night.

Lobster thermidor I love lobster, haven't had it for ages. We are off to southern Spain in April, I'm hoping to eat lots of really fresh seafood then. Even dh eats it there, all he will normally eat fishwise is a cod wrapped in batter.
