For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Zippi · 17/01/2008 19:32

what were u just wondering..how to get an lsd effect without actual lsd

OverRated · 17/01/2008 19:38

Ooo, I miss Lunnon Town.

I have no goat or LSD in my freezer. And only 2 saucepans. I don't think I qualify for The Document, do I?

Off to make a smoothie.

fullmoonfiend · 17/01/2008 19:38

sleep deprivation does it for me...

FrayedKnot · 17/01/2008 19:40

Bonsoir mes amies de fruit et veg

At least I think we're all amies unless there is a random ami anywhere masquerading as une femme.

I've had a big bowl of mixed fruit, some carrot & celery crudites, and sprouts, kale and peas for supper. I also tried to get a Seeds of Change cereal bar out of the vending machine at work and ended up with a kitkat

Good news about the possible new veg box Franny. I noticed there are proposals for a New village on the land around where our current farm shop is based. If that day comes and the farm is sold, I will go and chain myslef to the gates in protest.

Pink / MrsC I used to take DS to the Playbarn lots but mainly during the week when it wasn;t too busy. As indoor play places go it is better than the soulless fun factory type. DS used to like teh big sandpit, and the animals. But not sure I would go on a Saturday when it will be Birthday Parties & stuff....

I meant to ask MrsC / Boco have you ever been on the Bergh Apton Sculpture Trail? I have been twice and loved it both times. I am going to come back specially for it this year.

onebatmother · 17/01/2008 19:41

zippi
lsd effect can be easily achieved by leaving unused boxscheme f and v in fridge till they ferment.

fullmoonfiend · 17/01/2008 19:41

you must have been visualising kitkats FK...

MrsCarrot · 17/01/2008 19:58

FK - I have not actually visited the sculture trail which is quite shameful as it's a good thing. I was in it one year and didn't even go then but I was pregnant and when I'm pregnant I am a hermit.

The playbarn is more tolerable than some of the other hell pits indoor places but is still quite a drag. I often forget about parties we are invited to there.

Zippi - I liked Water for Chocolate but I think it made me cry.

I have had beans and beansprouts on toast with mushrooms and courgettes and sausages and barbeque sauce. I could eat it again.

FrannyandZooey · 17/01/2008 20:22

I like fumph

I may steal that

Tatties · 17/01/2008 21:32

Evening, how are we all?

I have had an emotional day as ds is not well with a sore throat/temp/virus thingy. He is ok and I am ok now I know what is wrong with him. It just freaks me out when he acts weird and I know something is wrong but don't know what. I feel like such a crap mother when he's ill, I don't cope well at all.

Franny's bulk cooking plan is brilliant, I need to do some more actually as our freezer is looking rather sparse.

What is Emo?

onebatmother · 17/01/2008 21:58

oh Tatties sorry you're having crap time. You are not crap mother.
Emo is strange middle-class youth subculture where they're all really into Gothic things: death and strangeness and not-too-scary-piercings and teeny tattoos and crying and hugging and eyeliner for both sexes. BUT - crucially - they're still lovely kids who do their parents proud.

Tatties · 17/01/2008 22:06

Thank you OBM

I'm ok, it's just that the initial worry and fear about what might be wrong affects me a lot. I know I sound like a drama queen but it is something I have a real problem with.

Dp came home with a knitting magazine to help calm me down

onebatmother · 17/01/2008 22:12

knitting magazine would certainly calm me down Tatties

glad you're feeling calmer now you know what it is. Always better when you know what your're dealing with.

Boco · 17/01/2008 22:19

Sorry to hear about ds being ill Tatties. HOpe he's better tomorrow, it is a horrible feeling when you don't know what's wrong - hits you how much responsibility this parenting thing is.

BEEEE!
I haven't done my tax return either. And i've lost my password. Capp will help next time and have a tax evening, join us.

I think i'm ready for The Document.
