For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh graon. DH wants us to watch LOTR 2 for the millionth time.....I want to piss around on here but as he has been away most of the week I feel obliged to be sociable.

I never thought I would ever say this but....

...even the thought of having a LOTR threesome in my mind with Aragon and Liv Tyler isn't going to cut the mustard.

BBBee · 19/01/2008 21:15

LOTR ??????????????????

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 21:18

love on the rug? No idea.

How is everyone? Is Boco going to see the Cohen brothers film? I have seen. I shall say nothing.

Well he eats blardy scrambled eggs and tripe, I'm telling you. He turns his nose up at Weetabix. He's on four meals a day, meat, milk, tripe. When he isn't eating disgusting things, he is sleeping BUT when he doesn't do that he comes out and talks to us and chases this ball and eats things and sits on everyones laps.

God I must stop talking in a boring way about this bloody dog. What else happened? Who is getting a new bed?

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 21:19

Oh ha ha ha.

Lord of the Rings.

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 21:19

Sorry. I only read the bit about her making out in a threesome with Liv Tyler, I missed the first bit. Love on the Rug. Hmm. Could catch on you know.

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 21:20

[hysterical dog owner goes to eat apple]

night all

MrsCarrot · 19/01/2008 21:22

I have just been running again, we went much further this time which is amazing considering it's only our 2nd go. I feel quite sprightly.

FMV - There is that bit though, where he comes in through the door after the near drowning. I liked that bit.

The dog sounds lovely, 100, I have your house pictured like Lady and the Tramp.

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2008 21:47

I couldn't get to grips with LOTR at all. I never read the books [heresy] and when we got to film 2 and I still didn't understand it and I kept saying to dp "why is that happening? what does that mean?" and he said he couldn't tell me as all would be revealed in film 3 then I just got fed up. I couldn't read The Hobbit either. Ruddy elves singing. Load of bollocks.

I want to see a Coen brothers film. I didn't know there was one.

I have eaten a very large pear and 3 satsumas.

FrayedKnot · 19/01/2008 22:04

I agree, Franny. We had to read the Hobbit in class at school, I was 8, and it took the whole year iirc...I was bored to tears with it. I think I might have enjoyed it more if I'd read it at my own speed. Never got anywhere with LOTR.

I want more Stories of Johnny tomorrow, 100.

Right, I am going to bed now, night all.

OverRated · 19/01/2008 22:24

Thanks for the recipes. I've been looking for new things to cook so The Document really helped ispire me. Nect step is to get to the greengrocers at 8 tomorrow morning but that is not very appealing.

Do you really have 10ft of bed space, Franny? I'd never get up. I don't really get LOTR either. Ex used to watch the films a lot. Maybe that's what put me off.

zippi. You sound a bit like me, getting all anxious over making decisions. It always seems that whatever I decide the worst thing happens anyway. But, thankfully, I have never had my home collapse. How awful. LOL @ DD2's arrival and cross midwife! I am sure it wasn't at all amusing at the time though. Where in Hertfordshire will you be walking? I grew up there.

3andnomore, if you are serious about someone reading through your essay, I'd be happy to. I like doing things like that.

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2008 22:32

I will do crumble and soup tomorrow, honest OR

so if we walk it will be up a hill i trhink

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 22:42

j depplooked very nice and erotic

OverRated · 19/01/2008 22:49

OH, I want to see that film

Boco · 20/01/2008 00:02

Just been to see the old men aren't allowed in the country film, or whatever it was called. Gosh it was violent. We were right at the front and it was a bit painful at times.

MrsC - we went to CinemaCity - i bet you go there don't you? It was very nice, much better than shitty Riverside Odeon - which puts me off going to the cinema as its so crap at Riverside with all the Brannigans type places.

So, Bee can't wait to discuss. 100 did you like it? I was kind of a bit disappointed that it was back to being all Blood Simple bleak instead of Big Lebowski fun, but was good, gripping and intense. Everyone had to have very sad eyes and walk around being dusty and psychopathic. The baddie was the scariest baddie i've ever seen, partly because of his hair - the sort of hair that you'd usually associate with a bit of a tit, on him became chilling and rather shocking.

So, a fun night out here in East Anglia!

Hows everyone and their vegetables and dog and stuff?

Boco · 20/01/2008 00:05

I could never read LOTR either, I tried, but all the bloody elvish singing all the time just gave me a stiff neck.

Everyone's gone to bed and I want to talk about brutal gun crime in Texan deserts.

OverRated · 20/01/2008 03:44

I was just reading about the film, Boco - it sounds quite enthralling. I read Cormac McCarthy's book The Road and loved it (despite being desperately depressing)

I have to go and meal plan. I think this week we'll empty the freezer and cupboards and I'll have a big cooking day next weekend. It's minus 26c atm and I don't feel brave enough to go shopping in the morning!

OverRated · 20/01/2008 05:52

lol, I just found a recipe for Alsation meat stew Good old Martha Stewart!

TooTicky · 20/01/2008 09:13

OR, would you swap a couple of your cold days for some non-stop rain? Actually, maybe just one day. I think our bathroom would probably freeze altogether and then fall off.
This RAIN though, it's driving me mad!!!!

Will take dcs swimming today - must do something energetic. Will have to be frugal with towels though as I can't dry things properly atm.

I don't like scary films. Or sad ones.

Where are LL and Lionheart?

ZippiBabes · 20/01/2008 09:13

don't think bocos film would be on at our apollo

i have just looked at the website book mooch which was mentioned on another thread and thought it looked interesting..does anybody use it?

i have to get myself organised to go out to tring..it seems an odd place to be going to me according to the aa rout planner it will take me 1hour and 23 minutes

i am finding cryptonomicon is getting better but it is taking me an age to get anywhere with it the print is tiny

crikey avi you mean it is something like BB? How do you feel about your great nephew maybe moving in? And how does he feel?

I liked Blood Simple then but I wouldn't want to watch it again now, especially with a scary haired baddie. I prefer the sound of J Depp being erotic, although is that the H Bonham Carter thing because she really hacks me off?

OverRated I forgotthere was a thread on the bulk cooking thing here which has got some more recipes but I couldn't see crumble. Will dig it out.
