For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello again

I'm/we're definatley getting there. I walked round town today and bought dried apricots as a snack

Last night's dinner was fab. Lancashire Hotpot made with leeks, onions and celery served with peas carrots and savoy cabbage

Lots of F&V there

I'LL ENCOURAGE THE FAMILY TO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK a worthwhile resolution

lullabyloo · 31/12/2007 15:45

I am failing miserably at motherhood, housework & everything really
The house is a shambles,I still havn't unpacked & ds is watching fingerbobs......again.

oh woe...& I have to get out of these pyjamas & shower & put on a smiley face for dh when he returns home in an hour to take us to pizza express

coughs, sniffs, wails & gets back under duvet

lullabyloo · 31/12/2007 15:47

Grouchyoscar · 31/12/2007 16:19

I probably won't get chance to be online again today so I will wish you all

A HAPPY NEW YEAR

and wish you everything you wish yourselves

I'll be popping around in 2008

TooTicky · 31/12/2007 16:56

Fmf, you always say such lovely things

LL, come here and be useless with me. I have been feeling useless and lumpy for days and the dcs have watched far too much television.
Must motivate myself now though as I thought I'd do fun food for this evening. And it's ds2's white monkey's birthday today and he needs a banana cake.

Bestest new year wishes to everybody; may you all feel light and sparkly.

TooTicky · 31/12/2007 16:59

GrouchyOscar, as a Lancashire lass, I am ashamed to say that I have never made Lancashire Hotpot. Not even sure I've eaten it Is it something I could veganise?

FrayedKnot · 31/12/2007 19:38

Hello all

U nfortunately I have a headache so I can;t see we will be doing much celebrating

Hope evryone has agood evening

We bought an HDD DVD thingie in the sales because our DVD player had died and DH has been fiddling, faffing, huffing sighing and generally irritating me with it all blinkin day.

I can;t undersdtand why it couldn;t just be taken out of the box and plugged in, but no, he has spent about 5 hours on and off faffing with it so far.

Muxch longer and I will be taking it back to the shop

I have made some tuscan bean soup and we had salmon & lots of veg for supper

OverRated · 31/12/2007 19:46

I haven't had lancashire hotpot for years. Grouchy - I looked at your profile and I think you live at the next stop on the railway to where I used to be. I did my teaching practice in your town. And a traffic survey

How funny that FMF and 100x know the same person.

Today I had a Ripple. And a flake. For comparison. V. little F&V but think I'll start that again tomorrow. No point doing it today, is there?

Hope you all have a lovely NYE - I'll be working, but HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you

OverRated · 31/12/2007 19:48

OOo, I love tuscan bean soup. Isn't it silly how all these new techie things take forever to set up? I agree, they really should be plug in and play things. It annoys me no end.

FrayedKnot · 31/12/2007 19:50

Yes and the one thing I really wanted to do which was to record things without the adverts, apparently, isn;t going to be possible. Although I think they can be edited out.

pinkspottywellies · 31/12/2007 20:13

Happy New Year Veggers!!!

Hope you all have a lovely night. I have to log off now so that we can watch movies and eat cheese, ham, olives, crackers etc our fave meal! Then tomorrow: Health Kick

Night all and best wishes for a peaceful, happy, healthy start to 2008.

Tatties · 31/12/2007 20:35

Hello!

It feels like I haven't been here for ages, have I missed anything?

I don't know if I will be on much tonight (ds very restless, that makes a change, eh? ) but I wanted to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2008 xxxxx

TooTicky · 31/12/2007 21:24

Hello Tatties
No, you haven't missed much. Franny had to move a pile of mangoes before the midwife came, 100x has been encouraging people to steal diamonds, Lully has been poorly, Fmf has been wishing everybody lovely things, OverRated has lots of snow, Zippi has had a raunchy weekend, GrouchyOscar has been eating hotpot, FrayedKnot has a complicated new machine and I am going to offend people horribly by not mentioning everybody. My memory gets worse every day....

lullabyloo · 31/12/2007 23:15

Happy Happy New Year Darling Ones
