For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Well I'm in the Heavy Woollen district now

Grouchyoscar · 30/12/2007 13:58

Oh all you 10/10ers, DH said 'Yeah more veg will be nice'

Can I include the mega fruity fruit cake as a f&v portion?

lionheart · 30/12/2007 14:28

Hello, 10/10ers.

Have had a bucketful of clementines and am starting to remember how much better it feels to make an effort with the f&v.

Hope you all had a fabby Christmas.

lionheart · 30/12/2007 14:33

Did you say buy nothing?

TooTicky · 30/12/2007 15:02

We are back! It was muddy but good until dd2 had a small incident with the edge of the lake which necessitated stripping her down on a picnic table and hastily dressing her in a fortuitous spare pair of leggings, dd1's T shirt, my jumper and dd1's dry sock.
Have promised ds1 that we will go back before school starts again as he was Extremely Cross at having to leave instantly.
Dd1 is hero of the moment though for pulling dd2 out of the lake. Also for changing footwear with ds1 (who had chosen to go out in MY wellies ) although this part cost me £2.

Fmf, come and live near me

FrannyandZooey · 30/12/2007 15:04

Afternoon

I have been very industrous all morning and achieved very little. We were at my mum's and my sister's. It was ok [gritted teeth]. I am so glad to be back. I don't have a real bump but I look plumptious. You know that stage where you have sort of splurged round the middle but no definite shape has formed yet.

MrsC I am very sorry to hear you are ill again. God I wish we could find the answer for you.

I don't think there are any Marlow fans I have not flushed out of the woodwork here but just in case, here is my Antonia Forest thread

I have eaten a mango, a banana, an avocado, some salad. We are going to a party later which is described as a 'cooking and dancing adventure'

TooTicky · 30/12/2007 15:10

Sorry Franny, but I haven't read any of them.

TooTicky · 30/12/2007 15:10

Should I be or ?

lionheart · 30/12/2007 15:11

It's like Swallows and Amazons, TooT. Only colder. Brrr.

TooTicky · 30/12/2007 15:16

Ooooh, I like Swallows and Amazons

What happened to our Scrabble, Lionheart? I was playing 8 or 9 games at once recently - 3 of them with Avi

FrannyandZooey · 30/12/2007 15:17

you should be and IMO

FrannyandZooey · 30/12/2007 15:21

LOL

it is very rude to tell people to be that they haven't read something

you can just be , or you could read them and be [joy] and [wonder]?

OP posts:
lionheart · 30/12/2007 15:24

TooT, I thought it was your go. I will check.

Franny, I know it's your go.

lionheart · 30/12/2007 15:35

Sorry, TooT. 'Twas me again.

FrannyandZooey · 30/12/2007 15:53

Yes it is my go in all my games

[serene indifference]

OP posts:
lionheart · 30/12/2007 16:11

I have never experienced serene indifference without artificial stimulus.

I must try to be more naturally Zen.

It is still your go, though.

I hope you are well, Franny.

fullmoonfiend · 30/12/2007 17:50

Lionheart - just not buying non-essential stuff. For a little while. As an experiement in green non-consumerism.

(and because we are desperately skint and I want to buy pond kit for my allotment and be able to afford some sort of holidays this year.
And because I am a bugger for frittering away ££££s on the way home from school on sweeties, comics, 2nd-hand videos, because we have to walk thru town centre etc etc
And because my tiny house is bulging at the seams with stuff)

Grouchy, I am in the north of our wondrous county. You know, posh, up-it's-own-arse Spa town....

Where is Tatties??? (she lives near you I think)

fullmoonfiend · 30/12/2007 17:50

lol at naturally zen LH. I choose not to be zen. Worrying keeps me thin...

ahundredtimes · 30/12/2007 18:02

Where did you go in the end TooT [serene indifference, not]

FMF don't live near TooT. You'll only be another up its own arse Spa town. Though I rather like up its own arse Spa towns, they do it for me. I like yours too.

lionheart · 30/12/2007 18:05

It sounds like an excellent idea, FMV.

Now I am worried that cultivating my Zen-ness will make me more plumpity.

fullmoonfiend · 30/12/2007 18:06

yes but yours is nicer than mine, I'm sure of it
bored bored bored of my area, beautiful though it is. And it's cold. And always windy. And rainy. Humph. And we haven't had snow for years [pouts]

ahundredtimes · 30/12/2007 18:09

Yes it does rain a lot there. I have two sets of friends who live there. Also very dark grey stone, I find. Still, I like it. It's over-priced and genteel and full of families and pensioners - apparantly this is something I look for.

TooTicky · 30/12/2007 18:13

Brokerswood. We have filled the washing machine with wet and muddy clothing
Thank goodness the water wasn't colder though!
Oh, and there was a rude couple there. Their ds (4ish) was waiting for the flying fox and they decided to play on something else while they were waiting. When my dcs had each had a go, I sent ds2 to tell them it was free and they IGNORED him

TooTicky · 30/12/2007 18:15

Fmf, ignore 100x. Come and live here - we're not in the spa place.
