For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh good, aspalls cider vinegar is with all the other vinegars and make sure he gets high strenght vit c and some sort of blackcurrant/pomegranate juice that you'll enoy hot with the vinegar and echinacea in. they normally have that too. hope you feel better.

Bocohohoho · 20/12/2007 15:34

Thank you

lionheart · 20/12/2007 15:37

Hello, 10/10ers.

Have been all very remiss and working and not very 10/10 but hello anyway.

Love the title.

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 20/12/2007 16:06

Damn, I missed lully

Incase you pop back lully as mail isn't getting to you I used other resources.

I'm worried I have your mail address wrong lully - here is mine again [email protected]

Of course you may think I'm a stalker and am just being polite

FrayedKnot · 20/12/2007 16:09

Hello lovely veggers

Franny do you like avocados?

Sometimes I grate up a load of carrots and keep in fridge for a day or two to assemble quick salads.

Or you'll have to eat soup. You can make soup any old time. Are you up to it?

Do you like peas? The easiest soup I know requires just a bit of sweated onion, a packet of Petit Pois and some good vegetable stock. You only need to bubble it for about 10 mins and then you can liquidize it and off you go. It's best with a bit of mint, or add a handful of spinach or chard while cooking the peas.

It looks amazingly toxic healthy

Gibbon I love celery. I don;t just eat it for hte sake of it, I love it. It needs to be very fresh though, the celery we get in our veg box is superb.

Boco, sorry to hear you are feeling so rough. MrsC's advice sounds great if you can the stuff.

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 20/12/2007 16:14

Really FK? Have you always liked it? I can sniff it in food from 10 paces.

It's the one thing I honestly can't eat.

MrsCarrot · 20/12/2007 16:43

DH hates celery but I love it. He always leaves it on the side of his plate but I put it in everything like onion and carrots. Dd and I often eat a whole head with other veg and houmous

FrannyandZooey · 20/12/2007 17:11

I had a margherita with mushrooms and artichokes, mixed salad with avocado and banoffee pie. I keep ordering the banoffee pie and I keep being really disappointed. I think their puddings are a bit crap actually. Everything else was absolutely delicious.

MrsC I hate goat's cheese as well. I am not very good with strong tastes in general, I think.

FK I love avocados. I feel a bit about the pea soup, I only recently learnt to eat peas but it sounds like it would be beauitfully green.

You must be a very tricky vegetarian!

Their puddings are crap aren't they, very plasticky, but the pizzas are the best.

FrannyandZooey · 20/12/2007 17:17

oh

A Confession

I wrote my Christmas cards in a great hurry this morning and only managed to find the address of ONE 10/10 er To save you all the suspense I will reveal that it was Boco, who recently sent me a DVD and it had her return address on the jiffy bag. I have completely failed to send any kind of festive greeting or treat to anyone else Sorry, this was crap but I hope you all have an extremely marvellous Christmas and now you just have to pretend that I said that in a glittery card with a robin on, and that I enclosed some lovely organic fair trade treats with it

I am cured! It's a miracle. I took BBBeee's advice and stood on my head while drinking water...

Actually I have no idea what cured me as I have been taking everything for a week or more...Honigar (cider vinegar with honey), eccinacea, garlic, vit c in high doses and ear dorps containing hydrogen peroxide which my d told me to do as apparently according to some scientist dh googled, the cold virus goes in through the ear and the hydrogen peroxide zaps it.

Well whatever, I am almost better )

Lully, did I miss you? A beautifully wrapped little parcel of festiveness popped thru my letter box today, you beautiful fruitiful lady, you! I haven't opened it as I am adding it to my meagre pile under the tree but I suspect some form of extract of cocoa bean....

FrannyandZooey · 20/12/2007 17:18

Yes I really really like almost any sort of vegetable, grain or pulse no matter how simply prepared as long as not too spicy, but I don't at all like most of the things used to jazz up vegetarian food - stinky cheeses, olives, garlic, hot spices, etc
