For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yup.

And strange mysterious creatures will come out of the lake and tell your fortune, and you will knit on a porch, and they will sing to you in the dusk and bless all your dreams.

It's going to be a bit odd but very fitting.

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2007 23:46

And the dcs will become boat-competent and enjoy the freedom of the forests and I won't have to worry about bloody traffic. And I will have one of those dear little red houses.

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2007 23:47

I shall live in Småland. Or maybe Värmland. And we shall have snow!

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2007 23:50

Okay, am off to bed.

ahundredtimes · 28/12/2007 00:10

Night TooT

OverRated · 28/12/2007 04:40

Yum. Elks. I don't suppose that is what you were thinking when you mentioned them Toot

Am waaay behind on all this but from a quick look at this thread:

Franny ate Nestle
Boco's dp is an MN wannabe
FK is leaving Norfolk for a few days
Zippi has changed names and is confusing me and the climber is learning RUssian
Greeny popped in
Ahundredtimes thinks she is in a James Bond movie
BBBeee will soon be reading The COrrections
GrouchyOscar is on the same level of 10/10 as me
And Toots is moving to Sweden.

I've been entertaining. And I was injured. And I had no power cable for my laptop for 4 days

FrannyandZooey · 28/12/2007 07:33

OverRated well done top marks there on your summing up

TooT we want to move to Sweden too, except we don't actually want to go. Other than that it is a DEFINITE plan for us. My New Friend is Swedish. She's there right now, actually.

I have had melon and raisins and banana. Ds is being an arse. We are going to my mother's. Some of these facts are related somehow.

Mr Boco I am sorry but you are not welcome here. Spouses are only allowed to come and be amusing for very limited periods.

Have you been there, Franny? We went and stayed on farms.

Actually, would like next trip to be to Finland so we can go here and here before the dcs get too old to appreciate.
Also want to go back to here

Nice pic 100x

Think I m,ay have a wistful day now.

Overrated, glad to see you back

yulemoonfiend · 28/12/2007 11:58

think it is the juice of the pomegranite arils which has health benefits, though I'm sure the seeds will rpovide some sort of fibre....

I need to summon up energy to exercise the puppies boys but it is grey and very windy and wet. Not inspiring.

My resolutions include:
Bake more bread
keep house tidier (hah!!)
Stop smoking again
Drink more water

Also, DH and I have decided to use only seasonal produce for one meal a week (we cannot commit to more than that as otherwise we'd go into shock at the removal of chillis/ginger etc from our diets.)

And DH has been offered thst exercise on prescription thing from the gp.

BBbee, shall I get dh to teach you how to sing 'Yes, we have no bananas'' in Russian??

wombling · 28/12/2007 12:28

Hello all,

Hope you all enjoyed the festivities, we're back from marathon trek around rellies, lots of food consumed, although f&v total is lamentably low.

Have guests here now too, need to feed them again, will be back later

FrayedKnot · 28/12/2007 13:10

We are off to the PILs - I have a migraine coming on (quelle surprise) and will probably be without t'internet for 48 hours

Although not sure if they have wireless now.

But probably farewell for a while.

Farewell!

FrayedKnot · 28/12/2007 13:12

I'd love to learn some russian

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 28/12/2007 13:15

have a nice visit fk

are there discussions about sex on mn..i don't think so babe

MrsCarrot · 28/12/2007 13:47

Hi all

haven't popsted since Christmas day as have been Ill Again with the dreaded bad tit. Started Christmas evening and spent all yesterday in bed, feeling a bit better today and it has turned a rosy shade of pink rather than scarlet which a is a good sign. So annoying. I fear I will not turn into an extended b feeder after all. Poor Lo, he is so very find of it too. I mus make the cup seem more appealing.

Is anyone else finding it hard to not eat all the fattening food? I've just noticed chocolate on my cheek from when I polished off a yule log earlier.

TooTickyDoves · 28/12/2007 13:53

I started teaching myself Russian when I was about 15. Got stuck later on with the grammar though.

Oh MrsC You could always phone again y'know.

I have been eating oranges. They are surprisingly peelable atm and quite delicious.

What does one do with slightly disappointing cabbage? Apart from stuffing it down MrsC's bra.

Sorry

MrsCarrot · 28/12/2007 13:59

Oh, I have barely stopped phoning, Toot, he knows me quite well now. He has been involved with dd's ipetigo, my sinusitis and as of yesterday, mastitis again.

I had a remedy last night and have made a marked improvement. I dreamt about DH dying again like last time. He is of a similar opinion to Boco's dp about homeopathy and is finding it a bit uncomfortable that when I get a remedy he dies in my dream. I tell him that I am very glas he is still alive when I wake up and this is some comfort.

MrsCarrot · 28/12/2007 14:01

Glad

Cabbage, um, make a coleslaw, put it in a stir fry, spicy morrocan rice, potato/cabbage rosti.

fullofchocolatemoonfiend · 28/12/2007 14:30

oh MrsC, not again ! Do you feel all fluey and awful again? So sorry for you.

I actually lost a little weight before christmas so feel justified in cramming more chocolate-based goodies down my neck.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 28/12/2007 14:34

well the choc log was out on the litchen table yesterday and it just shrank as me and dd1 cut sl;ivers off

i have just polished the buy one get one free chocs off and feel slightly sick

especially as i got the turkey carcase out and had a bit of a vulutruisation of it in between chocs and i am now trying to finish the rest of the coffee off

despite the fact that it meant i was wide awake and bored at 3.30 am todday from yesterdays pints of the stuff

fullofchocolatemoonfiend · 28/12/2007 14:36

dh and I ate an entire box of petit fours last night. Marzipan - contains almonds...Do they count???

MrsCarrot · 28/12/2007 14:37

I feel a bit better today, FMV, tired and a bit bashed though. Felt fluey last two days, whooshing limbs, fever and the like but not the worst I've had it. Not as much shivering.

The laughable thing is on Christmas day I was thnking, yes, it's here and my cold is gone, I have won, ha ha ha. Then after the turkey, shooting pains, wobbly legs and a red tit. It was vert sudden. Perhaps it was bird flu.

I am no advert for 10/10.

MrsCarrot · 28/12/2007 14:38

zippi - choco log just calls out to be slivered off doesn't it? I have a sacher torte in the cupboard too.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 28/12/2007 14:39

oh sounds horrible mrs c hope you get better
