For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

That bit about the slutty satsumas with the thumb pressing was the rudest thing i've ever heard.

i've eaten a whole box of those Lindor chocolates this evening. They were from dds teacher for helping with the reading. I feel a little bit sick. I was painting at the same time and didn't really realise what i was doing.

I was going to have a satsuma but they make me blush now.

Bocohohoho · 18/12/2007 22:34

Blimey MrsC, in the time it took me to write that, you wrote 5 posts!

I have that cold thing too, it's horrible. My ribs are really hurting from so much sneezing.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 18/12/2007 22:36

I just had a loofah on my face! I felt a tingle and brushed something away, and it was a medium sized stripy loofah. Did screaming and flapping and jogging on the spot until dp came and peered over my shoulder and told me to stop it now.

Bocohohoho · 18/12/2007 22:41

MrsC, there's something a bit hip hop about you with no k. I like it. You roc.

MrsCarrot · 18/12/2007 22:47

quic quic, boco, loo on the arent' you and 100x and lapin amazingly funny thread and see what cod says

but about rl friend getting entertainingly huffy about you being funny

that wasn't when I shouted at you was it?

tell me it was the other one, the one who was in a real huff

Bocohohoho · 18/12/2007 22:51

No, it wasn't that MrsC. It was something else.

I read that thread and though it odd. I've not been funny for months, i've been morose and self pitying. Must Try Harder.

BBBee · 18/12/2007 23:11

is it me that is huffy?

MrsCarrot · 18/12/2007 23:11

I have had mango, raspberries, blueberries, apple and banana with granola and slightly curdified soya yog. Think it might be out of date.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 19/12/2007 09:55

i have had a lie in

Bocohohoho · 19/12/2007 09:59

I have been to the doctors about my rash again and he's recommended 3 months of strong antihistamines. I don't really want to take them every day for 3 months. And he said he'd refer me to dermatologist in Jan. He says it's chronic urticaria.

So, I came out of drs and opposite is the complementary health centre and went in, and the person who happened to be in the foyer was the homeopath, so i've made an appointment to see her on Friday morning. I'm not sure if i actually believe in homeopathy or not. But i'm not sure i believe in these antihistamines that aren't working, so i may as well give it a shot.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 19/12/2007 10:02

if you dont not believe in supplements then i would take mega vitamins and stuff too but ticky says u shouldnt

MrsCarrot · 19/12/2007 10:10

Toot's homeopath cured my mastitis.

Believe

Who knows why it works but it does seem to. Am treating dd's recurrent impetigo with homeopathy now instead of anitbiotic cream doctors have given her for years.

Ds1 also has urticaria/hives on his face at the moment, doctor prescibed him daily anitihistamine too but I haven't given them yet.

God we're a manky lot these days.

MrsCarrot · 19/12/2007 10:11

Where is Toot? I hardly seem to bump into her these days.

Toot - are you ok?

Bocohohoho · 19/12/2007 10:14

I might try and believe. It's just that i've taken homeopathic hayfever things that didn't work, and a homeopath gave me stuff to bring on labour to prevent induction and that didn't work either.

Do you have to believe to make it work?

Can't you cynically just try it out of desperation?

MrsCarrot · 19/12/2007 10:21

no I've had stuff that hasn't worked, like from my previous homeopath who prescribed me so much belladonna it started proving and I went a bit loopy and black eyed in the night. Only one remedy is the right one. Believing helps but so does a good practioner.

that's why I like good homeopathy though, as it seems to just give your body a nudge in the right direction. I have trouble with it too, tbh, but when it works I'm happy to believe it.

I haven't vaccinatde yet either but will after a year I think.

yulemoonfiend · 19/12/2007 11:30

just running in (with my running nose) to delare that I can't stop singing festive fruit and veg songs.

Deck the halls with bowls of cauli, tra-la-la,la, tr-la-la-la etc etc

TooTickyDoves · 19/12/2007 12:35

I'm okay apart from my spotty bottom

The right homeopath - or a homeopath who practises properly (just one dose of a single remedy - the right remedy of course) is the key - and so many don't practise properly

It does work. Very, very well indeed.

We seem to be in a whirl of school plays, children's parties, disorganisation - I have only written two Christmas cards and those were to people I was posting things to anyway.

TooTickyDoves · 19/12/2007 12:36

The night chewing can be wearing, Avi. Atm dd2 often sits up part way through and demands water.
