For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

gizmo · 03/12/2007 15:43

lullabyloo · 03/12/2007 16:04

lullabyloo · 03/12/2007 16:06

gizmo · 03/12/2007 16:14

Sorry, Lully, I realised a microsecond after I hit post that you are probably still on good terms with him.

FrayedKnot · 03/12/2007 16:53

Hello

I had pea and spinach soup, and a pear, and dried fruit. I have lot of catching up to do

lullabyloo · 03/12/2007 17:58

gizmo...............it took a looooooooooooooooooooong time, much soul searching & a near fatal accident for me to move on,forgive & accept the fact that he is what he is,did what he did & will never change........& that despite breaking my heart,we still have an important bond,a deep friendship & some sort of place in each others wildly different lives.

he hasn't rung
he hates the cushion doesn't he?

pinkspottywellies · 03/12/2007 18:02

Thanks MrsC Will get my sis onto the chocolate! TooT, no. No decent health food shops. I'd like one of those weigh out places but there isn't one 100x what you said about BBB was lovely, especially the bit about the fireworks! I heart 100x. Boco you're MN famous! My friend who comes on here (only joined recently) asked me about the meet up today and she said "Did you meet Boco?" and I said "Yes. Why?" and she said that you're famous and every thread she's on you're there saying something funny! She asked if you were as funny in rl and I said you are charming and funny and lovely. She didn't know about the birthday table so I told her. She thought it was bad.

TooT, when you guessed my wellies yesterday I wished even more that I'd spoken to you at the meet-up. I did actually come and sit next to you at one point and say "hello I haven't spoken to you yet" but I think I probably said it in a very small nervous voice and you didn't hear me and you carried on playing with a dc and I felt silly and ran away I was nervous about meeting you anyway cause you didn't look like I imagined and everyone was saying how fab you are Anyway, sorry to offload all that!

Food: pear, apple juice, custard caramel donut, avocado (just half), tomatoes, cucumber, little bit of sweetcorn in tuna mayo, veg curry and lentil dhal for tea and will have fruit this evening. I went to the market today -can you tell?

I can hear dd squealing with delight upstairs. Dh is getting her ready for bed. I heart dd and dh although I do try to tell him that bed time is winding down time luckily she goes down quite easily anyway!

pinkspottywellies · 03/12/2007 18:13

By the way - look at my profile!!!! look look. New photo!!!!!

MrsCarrot · 03/12/2007 18:17

psw - let me know if she can't find it

I have discovered today that overcooked flapjack makes quite good granola. I have wondered if this is how granola was invented all day and I feel this is a fabulously unconstructive use of thinking time. I hope something good comes out of it.

MrsCarrot · 03/12/2007 18:18

ooh, nice boots

TooTickyDoves · 03/12/2007 18:19

Dear Pink, you should have nudged me! That is exactly the sort of thing I do. You see? We have a bond. And on meet-up day I was so distracted that an elephant could have walked across my plate and I wouldn't have noticed!
Lovely wellies btw

TooTickyDoves · 03/12/2007 18:20

And Pink, you didn't look how I'd imagined either.

MrsCarrot · 03/12/2007 18:21

yes, I said loads of things to Toot that she ignored

TooTickyDoves · 03/12/2007 18:21

Who was saying how fab I was? And why?

MrsCarrot · 03/12/2007 18:21
Wink
filthymindedvixen · 03/12/2007 18:21

well I am of your secret dancing mat secrets...
I'm sure I posted swoony things about him....

DH has gone for a week and it will be hard for me as I am working and have a college day and I have had to put the boys in after school jail club which they hate. And have to walk to chool before work and the forecast is not good. Sigh.

Have had prawn salad, and fruit sald which is good though. And will be having chickpea and tomato and spinach sort of cassoulet thingy for tea.

Tatties - are you there? I can't remember how to cast off and I want to finish my green scarf.

TooTickyDoves · 03/12/2007 18:21

Huh?

filthymindedvixen · 03/12/2007 18:22

matt sorry!

lionheart · 03/12/2007 18:23

Hello, lovely thread title.

TooTickyDoves · 03/12/2007 18:24

Fmv, knit two stitches then slip the first over the second, then knit another and slip the previous stitch over it - so you keep being left with just one on the right hand needle, then when you have kniotted the last stitch, pull it out big and put the ball of wool through it and pull tight. Does that make sense?

TooTickyDoves · 03/12/2007 18:25

Lionheart, what happened to our scrabble? I don't know if dp deleted one by mistake.

FrannyandZooey · 03/12/2007 18:26

Pink nice wellies. Ooh you like Shawshank - have you seen this very funny (IMO) kind of condensed spoof version

Lully does this mean I can link and make you watch Dancing Matt? Click on the Dancing 2006 video and you shall see his delightful knees which are not at all auntie-like in any shape or form

I have eaten potato salad and pasta and avocado and salad and chickpeas and fed lots of people and children and now I am tired. Ds is in a pair of red pants and some fairy wings looking tired and happy. Tomorrow we are going to do it all again yay.
