Big thanks cc, was finding it a bit unweildy back there! (old thread I mean)

supping home made carrot juice tho am desp to get onto wine. Been out for first run in weeks, was lovely, honest!! No idea about the jinx clue thingie, sorry hon...

prefernot, yeah, EXPLAIN YR NAME!! and have a lovely time at your mum's, is she a v devoted granny? I know what you mean about missing the thread, I do too and always log on asap when we've been away, as fast as I can without dh thinking I am an obsessed nutter. Have found this non smoking one so supportive & also lovely to chat with such fab people, have loved getting to know the regulars over the months.

personal stuff: have twin boys aged 7, a daughter of four, and a dh who works in computing... (God cc doesn't yr dp work long hours?)

What else? Job stuff I told you about, also love drawing (tho am not v good), play flute occasionally, run (sometimes) and love loafing in bath with v large glass of wine... Ummm... I was brought up in yorkshire but lived in London for 18 yrs before moving up here - classic 'let's get out of city cos we have kids' stuff. We live in a small town in Lanarkshire, scotland, which I'd call a village, which seemed eerily quiet at first, but is fab for the kids - the lovely countryside has grown on me (we've been here 5 yrs) but I don't think we'll be here forever.

Enough rambling! Oh yeah and am 2 weeks off the ciggies!

Tell us more about YOU.

have loadsa tedious housey stuff to do tonight so will prob not chat till tomorrow... have a good eve girls AND AREN'T WE DOING SO BLIMMIN' WELL!

minkmama · 08/11/2004 20:50

I haven't a clue what that jinx thing is CC! what is it in relation to? i thought dh had to work ages (9-7 or 7-7 on an early) but I shall tell him about paddy as soon as he moans about his hours

prefernot, i often go up to b'ham to visit dh's family (which i'm doing again this week girls) as he has meetings up there every month or so. i ALWAYS miss being here esp since i don't really have any friends down here and you guys pretty much are my social circle at the moment!!

i am 30 in april
parents originally from thailand but i'm a born and bred londoner (live in croydon now so just get to sniff london and pretend i live somewhere trendy)
have 2 boys maximilian is 23mths and sebastian is nearly 7mths
dh and i have been together for 10yrs married for nearly 7
am SAHM and really miss doing something with myself and having a brain that works.

CAT me and i'll send you some pics of my brood!

gotta go, the OC is on!!!

p.s does anyone know the difference between dispatch and despatch? despite my degrees, i can only tell you about God and marketing

fionagib · 08/11/2004 21:33

No I can't mm and am s'posed to be a riter!

dh VERY grouchy tonight as he has abandonned patches and is going c. turkey, oh dear.... I called up to boys, not too crossly, asking them to pipe down & go to sleep - then dh SWOOPED up the stairs, roaring in dramatic fashion... next time am gonna go up & have quite word with boys to get their lights off, without alerting dh.

Feeling like having a row with him, but if I did he'd storm off to garage for fags, then I'd feel awful for making hims start smoking again, so am gonna hide in here... was gonna do chores but am sick of them, will try to do a bit of work instead and hide from dh can hear him madly munching crisps...

pixiefish · 08/11/2004 21:59

minkmama- dispatch is American- despatch can be used in UK. (Both are correct here)

minkmama · 08/11/2004 22:07

Thanks Pixiefish! it's been bothering dh and I for ages and we couldn't make head nor tail of the dictionary

Poor fg! it's always more scary when someone else is having the tantrum!! hopefully he'll realise what state he was in and try to control it next time...i pretty much know when i'm off on one but at the time it's near enough impossible to control it! the shame...damn drug.

dh and i are aiming to finally put our wedding photos into an album after 7 yrs...

oh btw, did the bit when andrew walked into the music shop and pulled his sunglasses up make you melt as well?

charliecat · 08/11/2004 22:10

Feeling fine today, still on 2 mg, are you too mm? Think I need 6 or so a day, am not worried abot the qualtity or strength at the mo, it's early days...

Isn't this thread the business.

minkmama · 09/11/2004 11:43

MY BABY'S AT NURSERY!!!

Dh took him this morning and i followed after with ds2 just in case he needed me which apparently he didn't so i just came home. Am now waiting for a phone call to say he's crying for me!!!! i don't feel too bad as he looked v. ready to go and has been asking all weekend for 'nursy' but am a little tense because it would take me 30min to get there if something happens.

however, it's nice and quiet here with just ds2 looking after one baby instead of two is so much easier. i'm not saying it's easy for you mammya, prefernot and nearlyfour, just that since mine are so close together it's a big change

how's everyone doing?

did you get the oil this morning cc?

Men can be so infuriating fg!!!!!!

charliecat · 09/11/2004 15:22

HMMMMmm big sigh again, here todays story...happy ending of course!...got up at 6.40, needed a bath and couldnt be dealing with mad in out caper so got up early...had a coffee, switched the pc on, emailed Mink, had a bath got the kids ready lunch boxes etc...its now 8.20 and I havent had a lozenge (!)
9.10 Sam picks me up for nursery with a fag dangling out her gob, no crave urge or care, still no lozenge feeling GOOD.
Break at nursery no need for lozenge...get out of nursery at 1 think theres no point in having one now and so i am freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee OK.
So that means no more sneaky Joints and no more nicotine from me.
Big Sigh at the begining as I have all this extra fresh air

Yes Mink thanks got the oils...FG nope no book yet. xxx

charliecat · 09/11/2004 15:27

Oh and we had 2 mew starters at nursery today and we rang the mums for an update at 11 and one mum was crying so much at the end of the phone she couldnt speak[mummy syndrome smiley] and the other was all sniffly too. The kids were FINE...
I hope your DS was too...bet he was
Is it a 30 minute walk there? Thats about the same here...I can get there in 15 if there was an emergency.
Some of the little boys at my nursery make really really close friends at thier tender age...even closer than the girls

OP posts:
charliecat · 09/11/2004 19:27

OMG nicotine on the mind and a blooming headache...

OP posts:
fionagib · 09/11/2004 20:46

Oh mm what a big day!!! And isn't it lovely, just enjoying the one to one thing, without feeling you're responding to each of them in turn, whirling around - I love time with dd cos it seems so calm and there's none of the fighty dynamics between them. Like you said mm, I don't mean it's EASY having one child, just a nice contrast to battling with more... mine are squabbly, and one kid means no squabbling (apart from with me).

just a quickie tonight as have heap of work to get thro... bah... and dh has smoked at work, double bah.... (selfishly, although I worry about his health, cough etc, it makes it harder for me with that constant temptation of cigs in the house, but will NOT cave in....)

cc does this mean your are off lozenges????

I need one, now... (loz that is, not fag)

mammya · 09/11/2004 21:30

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around for last couple of days, been too tired to post... I know, I know, crap excuse, but true though, my period's just started and I always feel soooo tired at the begining. I'm still not smoking, have passed the 450 cigarettes not smoked mark!

MM, did your ds tell you anything about his time at nursery? My dd never tells me anything, only, if I ask insistently, that she "played with (insert name of boy here)". Never girls! That's promising...

I've been looking at schools, visited one last week and one this morning, have to return the form by Dec 1! And I keep thinking "but she's still so little..." It's lovely but so hard at the same time, to see your baby growing up. Does anyone else feel like this?

How are you doing without the lozenges cc?

minkmama · 09/11/2004 21:59

omigod, i'm so tired, it just hit me this evening. am even more tired than when i have the 2 of them to look after!! everything was fine but i think i may have tired myself out by being tense (although not teary at all thank goodness) waiting for the phone call that never came!!

will update you better tomorrow, night night for now xx

charliecat · 10/11/2004 07:17

Hope your ok MM.
I feel liek ive bee shot in the head. A headache decended on me yesterday and hasnt gone away. Ive took some paracetamol and hopefully they will kick in soon. Agony, feels like ny head is in a tight clamp.
