For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello
My actual shoes are the ones pictured at the top. Hang on, I'll find the link again. here

LL, I'm sorrry your dh is being such an arse.

MrsC, I hope your dd feels happier soon. If we lived closer, dd1 could pretend to be her Scary Big Sister. Actually, I could send a photo of dd1 looking fierce and she could use it to intimidate so-called friend. Give her hugs from us anyway.

pinkspottywellies · 23/11/2007 16:48

Lovely shoes TooT. Someone came in to say they like my title I went to the market today to restock. Been away two weeks but home for a couple of days in between so had a few days of 'using up' and very little else for ages! I've got bananas, mango, apples, pears, plums, butternut squash, courgettes..... loads of things!

I've got my leaving do tonight for my old job, even though I had a do and lots of lovely presents when I went on Mat leave, now I'm not going back they wanted me to have another one. Oh I will miss it but not as much as I would miss dd if I went back I guess

Lully will you get a christmas tree? Tis very early but oh so lovely!! Hope you're feeling ok-ish. (I would never have thought to put the chocolate with it but oh yum!)

I have bought a firestation but it is a different one. DS2 thinks his name is Sam.

He takes a fire-engine to bed with him and sometimes sets the siren off in the wee small hours.

Should I be at all worried that the full moon coincides with the party tomorrow and

that ten children will be here dressed as pirates and princesses and eating unnaturally coloured food?

Or not?

lionheart · 23/11/2007 16:55

You made a very fine choice with your actual shoes, TooT.

lullabyloo · 23/11/2007 17:22

Dh has gone out to get the tree
ds is rather pathetically pale & wan & quiet & has been 'decorating' with copious amounts of cotton wool, fir cones & a box of silver bells he found earlier. His little face really lit up when dh grouchingly agreed to go & search for a tree..& said 'Oh Daddy..you are absolutely brilliant,I really love you'

what do I have to do to earn the title
Absolutely Brilliant???

Lionheart...is it a wooden one?
Would you like the accessory pack?

lionheart · 23/11/2007 17:29

Poor Lullaby.

I did toy with the wooden station but opted for the beep-beep kind in the end, Lullaby, so probably the accessories wouldn't go.

Thanks, anyway.

MrsCarrot · 23/11/2007 17:45

LL - he thinks that every day without needing to say it to you. You are his world.

I am having fish and chips and prossecco and then we are watching ds1's birthday dvd, The order of the pheonix.

frothykindofadrink · 23/11/2007 18:04

My mum once told me lullaby that mums were like part of the furniture, you just expected them to be there and never noticed them

I was like a big old wardrobe she said

if it's any consolation I am very of your menu for the day - warm lentil salad and veg stew sound lur-vely compared to the odd homemade butterbean soup my mother brought round in little frozen boxes

I think dh may make me turkey salad later but I do not know when it will appear

shouldn't complain I guess since at least someone is feeding me

frothykindofadrink · 23/11/2007 18:05

oh no sorry scratch that I want fish and chips and prossecco like MrsCarrot

pinkspottywellies · 23/11/2007 18:11

Fish and chips sounds good MrsC

Lullaby your are always Absolutely Brilliant. He may not tell you but he shows you by being the lovely, well adjusted delight that you know he is

Do chocolate raisins count? I am turning into the thread pariah here

no I did eat stew also. And a lemon curd yogurt. That has to count.

unknownrebelbang · 23/11/2007 18:39

Love the thread title again.

Of course chocolate raisins count. We (me and DS3) decided this was so last weekend.

lullabyloo · 23/11/2007 18:45

mmmmmmm...chocolate raisins
mmmmmmm...lemon curd yoghurt

the tree is here....it doesn't smell like a tree....I don't like it
that was my one & only request...a Christmassy smelling tree

filthymindedvixen · 23/11/2007 18:57

ok, so-called FrannyandZooey, what have you done with our leader

FrannyandZooey · 23/11/2007 19:02

I am being controlled by an evil being

it sits in me asking for cake and potatoes

MrsCarrot · 23/11/2007 19:04

I left you a potato earlier

MrsCarrot · 23/11/2007 19:05

I am about to ring the girl's mother. Wish me luck.

womblingalong · 23/11/2007 19:38

good luck mrs c, fingers crossed for you!

MrsCarrot · 23/11/2007 19:47

oh, gawd, she's ringing me back in half an hour.

FrayedKnot · 23/11/2007 20:03

Evening all

I feel the need to make bullet points it has taken me so darn loong to read this thread and the emotional ups and downs therein

  1. Good luck MrsC with the conversation, I think you are being very brave and wish you diplomacy and hope you can reach a meaningful conclusion

  2. LL your DH is being a bit arsey I do agree

  3. I can see both sides of the debate and I think I quite like being over here on the fence thanks

  4. My plans for the weekend seem to be cancelled and I am wondering what is going to haeppn now

  5. I need to make soup tonight as there is a swede malingering in my kitchen

Er..
6) I have eaten moderate amounts of f&v but not enough to deserve a badge, probably

BBBee · 23/11/2007 20:13

hello

yikes!

what has happened to the thread - should I be scared? Have we broken the magic by meeting?

Is boco's 'puter broke?

I love you all still.

confused.

lullabyloo · 23/11/2007 20:17

oh good luck mrs c

it is so hard to eat out of the fridge salad in this weather...I just want soup & stew & potatoes

however...have nibbled celery & cabbage & carrots
Made a vast stew so that I could freeze some....but it's all gone

does anyone have a nice mushroomy recipe?

lullabyloo · 23/11/2007 20:19

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I know..it's been a bit scary today
But there are lines ..so all is ok now & everybody loves everybody again....but we dont love f&v...only chips & chocolate & baked potatoes & cake
See?

MrsCarrot · 23/11/2007 20:20

Phew!

Mother is horrified.

Very grateful that I phoned her, very apologetic and wants me to ring her if anything like this happens again. It was not awkward and I think she is like me and wants things to be out in the open. I like her.

Ds1 is ging loopy waiting for me to start the film. Goodnight veggers.

lullabyloo · 23/11/2007 20:21

Oh thank goodness mrs c
enjoy the film
