For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Would it work without the molasses do you think? I have none

Hello all

Had a lovely weekend

Tree up and looking lovely was all cosy with the fire going, we found some old jazz on the radio and DD 'helped' by passing DH and I the decorations

Then a fab lunch with family today

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend

FrayedKnot · 02/12/2007 21:45

'Lo

Have done most of my cards.

DH is eating mounds of cake and trying to persuade me to.

Avi I am on day 22 and already have that watermelons hanging off my chest feeling. And my carb cravings are kicking in.

I am finding it hard to get used to having a 28 day cycle when for all of my twenties and most of my thirties I only had an AF about once every 3-4 months

Goodness knows why after all this time I suddenly seem to have reverted to a normal cycle.

FrayedKnot · 02/12/2007 21:50

Robert I do like your name

RobertSmithStoleMyLipstick · 02/12/2007 22:01

aw thanks

only changed it a few days ok...still feels a bit strange

well done for resisting the cake btw [impressed]

pinkspottywellies · 02/12/2007 22:02

Oh no! DD got a Sylvanian Squirrel with an apron for her Birthday My mum has a Sylvanian Canal Boat!

I put my Christmas decs up today cause we're having our family Christmas this weekend. DD was delighted when she woke up from her nap and saw them all. Then she went back to playing with her TARDIS. She does the noise and spins it round Really looking forward to it the weekend

Urgh my typing is rubbish. Keep having to delete! FMV I'll play scrabble with you - I'll see if I can find your e-mila address or you can start if you have mine handy.

Going to the market tomorrow as I have nothing fresh in the house now. I've been trying to use everything up. Had tins and freezer for tea!

I'll get my pinkspottywellies out of the car tomorrow and post a photo. They're fab and have a knitted cuff around the top

LL, the original recipe uses syrup. The molasses is my tweak. Honey would be fine I should think.

Turnip tops fine

pinkspottywellies · 02/12/2007 22:05

I had a thread title idea but I might leave it till the new year and we can have a couple of Christmassy ones. I like both of yours TooT.

5 onion rings? Or does that make it too long?

FrayedKnot · 02/12/2007 22:07

Oh no, Robert, you see, not only did I have roast for lunch and pudding, I have also had two slices of apple cake and rather a lot of crackers with butter and lots of cheese.

I do not need to eat any more cake. At all.

Pink, what are you cooking for the early Christmas? Is it going to be very traditional?

RobertSmithStoleMyLipstick · 02/12/2007 22:09
Grin
TootTheAbsoluteLoon · 02/12/2007 22:10

Ooh yes!

5 onion rings, 4 cauliflowers, 3 french beans, 2 turnip tops and a parsnip in a pear tree

FrannyandZooey · 02/12/2007 22:10

Can you lovely people please give me the definitive Christmas title then please [lazy] and I will start a new thread in the morning?

FrannyandZooey · 02/12/2007 22:11

ah

you have

if you want to tweak I will be back tomorrow

RobertSmithStoleMyLipstick · 02/12/2007 22:12

Hope you are resting and feeling ok Franny

pinkspottywellies · 02/12/2007 22:27

I was going to cook something totally untraditional (whole salmon maybe or mexican ) but my dsis said that she wanted it to be Christmassy but that I wasn't to cook a full on Christmas dinner or they wouldn't get to see me (cause I'm working too). So Christmassy but not Christmas dinner Dsis suggested a Boxing Day type meal of cold meats and salad and I think I'll do jacket potatoes. Should be delicious and everyone will contribute which will be nice (although I wouldn't have minded doing it all!)

MrsC, is there somewhere near you that sells crying chocolate? I could get my sis to bring some - I still haven't tried it

TootTheAbsoluteLoon · 02/12/2007 22:48

PSW, this is the one!

pinkspottywellies · 02/12/2007 22:51

I knwo TooT but I don't want to buy it off the tinternet cos you have to order loads and pay postage and I thought if MrsC buys it in a shop then my sis would be able to get me some cos she lives there too! But maybe MrsC buys it off the tinternet too ?

OP posts:
TootTheAbsoluteLoon · 02/12/2007 22:54

Yes, I can see how ordering loads would be a bad thing. Sort of.
Do you not have any decent health food shops near you?
