For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

MrsCarrot · 26/11/2007 11:51

Zippi - do you think he is likely to morph into an intelligent articulate being in person? I don't..

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 13:15

I think I am going to find out..how long has that taken?

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 13:15

about 2.5 hours

Boco · 26/11/2007 13:30

MrsC - maybe Wednesday as i have no childcare so can't run the artclub this week. Will see if i can find a lift to the station...

I ate an avocado. It was a bit ripe.

OverRated · 26/11/2007 13:35

Re jam jars: small cars, bubbles, crayons, coins (pennies), sweets (in wrappers), mini bath things, wind-up toys, stickers, hair clips, jewellery (cheap stuff obviously), playing cards etc

Zippi, I don?t envy you with your ex coming to visit . Yuk. Hope your msn guy improves!

I ate dried prunes for breakfast. Eeek

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 13:41

a whole avocado?

there should be some kind of award for that

I am having turkey and watercress and spinach salad with sourdough toast

for sourdough toast read 'dense warm cardboard'

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 13:44

well he doesn't have to be that intelligent just not monosyllabic..anyway i have managed to organise our date if he doesn't bottle...surely he can't between now and half seven

Boco · 26/11/2007 13:45

well, it was quite a small one. You see how desperate my eating has become, when i manage one portion but string it out across several posts.

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 14:14

i could eat melon and work like mad for the rest of the day now..i am skiving college

IdrisTheDragon · 26/11/2007 14:17

I relatively often eat a whole avacado (can't decide whether to do or at that).

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 14:18

lol. I could make a pomegranite spin out over weeks in that case...
Have eaten nothing today except for some warm choclate from choc tree decorations kits.
In my defence I have been helping my friend clean her house afte well-meaning mate decided to knock down most of the celing in the name of DIY.. Whole house coverered in inches of 100-year-old black grit and plaster

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 14:19

actually i haven't eaten anything either just coffee which probably explains my excitable mood

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 14:20

oooh coffee

I do miss coffee

mind you I think I would even choose wine over coffee

Boco · 26/11/2007 14:26

I think we need a holding bay thread for the more excitable / unwell / anxious / unhinged of us to wait in until normal 10/10 eating can be resumed, we can just drink caffeine and shake.

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 14:29

rofl

MrsCarrot · 26/11/2007 14:41

don't you think the thread is more like a holding bay though, where we hover, chat and discuss neurosis and then every so often, someone has an epiphany type moment where they say, I have eaten loads of fruit and vegetables today and I feel loads better.

Then everyone crowds round and says, mmm, your dinner sounds lovely, 'can I come and eat in your house?' before shuffling back into place.

IdrisTheDragon · 26/11/2007 14:43

I don't generally tell about all the things I consume - just talk about the good things I have .

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 14:46

it is like a f&v version of buying the Sunday papers and never reading them, but feeling like you have done something worthy and intellectual

even if you have eaten wagon wheels and cheese toasties all day you are still a 10/10er and therefore nutritionally superior

Boco · 26/11/2007 14:51

Exactly Frothy - or paying gym membership but never stepping foot in a gym. Which is why i'mm expecting my Veg license to be revoked and to be tossed out the back of the church hall onto a pile of veg peelings and banana skins.

Boco · 26/11/2007 14:52

..And zippi will be there, snogging a boy by the bins.

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 15:02

sounds fab

I will be wandering around with a tray of particularly yeasty sparkling wine
