For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Is yeast in vodka?

Really

I am annoyed because I ordered some gift vouchers for a Christmas present and I think they have got lost but I have to wait until 12th Dec for the company to make a claim on Royal mail and by then things will be getting a bit tight I reckon

I have eaten veg soup, an apple and a satsuma though so I can loiter right here on teh proper thread. Just about.

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 15:34

still it might Not Be So (cross fingers)

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 16:43

What is wrong with eating a whole avocado?

Thanks for jar suggestions. Will root around toyboxes and corners for suitable things. Before tomorrow evening.

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 16:44

(TooTicky my letters are crap. Though it is a bad workman who blames his tools)

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 17:24

MrsC I found some cider vinegar with some sort of special honey in it which makes it even better for you apparently . It's lovely!! I may become addicted.

IdrisTheDragon · 26/11/2007 17:26

TooT, the shoes are now in a parcel. They Will Get Posted Tomorrow.

Noone here wanted to leave the house today so we didn't. Other than DH who went to work (although I don't think he really wanted to either).

DS just headbutted me (accidentally) with full force right on the bridge of my nose.

It hurts!

Avvy sorry to hear Ds is still poorly

We are going to look round the other school tomorrow. I have the day off which means I can make supper & cakes in the morning while DS is at nursery and then do something more fun in the afternoon...I fancy something outdoorsy.

It will probably rain

littlerach · 26/11/2007 19:41

Frothy person, my friend is an a special diet where she has to avoid sugar and yeast and somehting else that I can never remember.
She says it just makes her m,iserable, but it has improved her health.

Strange though, she has to seek out all of the processed crap that we don't eat, like fat free ice cream, as it has fake sugar in.

The plus side is she is very slim, but not skinny. And her previous problems have gone.

Um, an apple, tomatoes and leek soup.

And raisins, papaya, coconut.

And an orange juice - I ma trying very hard to like orange. Thsi si my first step on th epath.

Dd2 is to be Mary in her preschool show. Joseph is twice her size. It will be funny (or cringworthy)I htink. She is very proud. But all of her dolls ahve been renamed Mary or Joseoh.

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 19:45

LittleRach!

oh Avi, I remember the pain of that (ds2 used to have a terrible knack for doing that - and I wear glasses. I used to have to throw put ds down just to go and swear somewhre private and hit something inanimate, just with the teary-pain of it!

I have only managed a handful of grapes. But a nice winter veg stew is bubbling away.

Boco · 26/11/2007 20:18

My dd2 has been assigned the part of 'a christmas present' in the pre-school nativity So does that mean i just put her in a big box? or wrap her up? She wants to be a frog, but i'm not sure there's a place for a frog.

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 20:26

littlerach is it the anti-candida diet? I did that for a while it almost killed me

no sugar

no alcohol

no wonder she is miserable

littlerach · 26/11/2007 20:36

dd1, however, is an eastern dancer in her show, and her friend is a sand dancer.

FMV, mwah to you too! I bought dd2 some amazing stripey tights this week, nad thought of 10/10 as I think you were discussing them at the time.

frothy, I don't know. She had terrible gall or bladder stones and ended up haing surgery. The the pains came back and she saw a dietician who recomended that. Remembered, the other thing was cheese. Maybe.

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 20:45

oh goody i got blown out so i can do my plants and stuff lol

pinkspottywellies · 26/11/2007 21:15

Avi, spag bol was with mince and lentils.

Frothy surely the award for eating a whole avocado is eating a whole avocado

I had mango, satsumas, orange juice, tomato and leftovers from last night. Oh and half a banana with dd. Rubbish . Might go and have an apple.

I love all the jam jar ideas. You lot are so clever

Hello

I am busy and I am getting a cold

FrayedKnot · 26/11/2007 21:43

Where's Franny today? have I missed something?

Boco · 26/11/2007 21:43

I love guacamole, with lots of chopped spring onions.

I've had mushrooms and peppers and sugar snap peas and bean sprouts and courgette. And mango for pudding. And grapes.

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 21:47

I have 2 avocadoes but they are sternly firm.
