For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Dried fruit, like cranberries and cherries?

Glitter???

Pretend jewels?

Boco · 26/11/2007 10:21

Oh dear Frothy. There's something about 'frothy' and 'yeast' together that's making me wince a bit.

Has ALL alcohol really got yeast in it? I didn't know that. Can you be tested for it?

I'm glad you're feeling better though - that's good isn't it.

Boco · 26/11/2007 10:22

Toot i would so buy a jar of fabric scraps! Or beads or buttons - definitely - i want to buy a jar of those things now!

IdrisTheDragon · 26/11/2007 10:25

I would love a jar of buttons .

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 10:28

How much would it cost to fill a jar with buttons?

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 10:28

What size fabric scraps?

IdrisTheDragon · 26/11/2007 10:31

I'm sure it would cost lots of and lots. But it would be lovely .

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 10:33

fabric scraps different size patcvhes in the middle with buttons around the bottom f the central core

lionheart · 26/11/2007 10:33

Marbles would be good.

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 10:35

chant, you feckers, chant

lionheart · 26/11/2007 10:51

I have made a spell.

Boco · 26/11/2007 10:58

I can't chant that because of the frothy and yeasty bit together. I'm chanting something else, but it means the same ok?

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 11:08

ok

I really do feel a bit better at the mo

I even went for a walk to the end of the street and back

Boco · 26/11/2007 11:16

That's good - that's really positive - you have to remember this if you have a not so good day - there are good days and you will get better. hooray for you!

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 11:26

Toot - we do this at school. Stickers, hair bobbles, little packets of seeds, home made xmas decorations (fir cones sprayed gold, salt dough shapes with glitter and ribbon, hone nade sweets, little stocking fillery toys (wooden spinny tops) bouncy balls etc. I bung in all the crap plastic dinosaurs my kids accumulate from party bags

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 11:27

what and why are we chanting? I do good spells, me!

MrsCarrot · 26/11/2007 11:30

I bought DD a jar and put some buttons in for her birthday. She loves looking out for a new one to go in it. I haven't quite forgiven her for losing my 1920's crystal studded spherical shoe button but I am trying.

Yeast is indeed in all alcohol. Candida is a pain to get rid of and boy do you crave sugar/carbs/wheat/yeast when you have got it. The lethargy, the cravings, irritability and yet all you want to do is cram in some more cake. Bizarre.

I haven't quite been able to hold off this cold but I feel like I am moving throught the stages of it quite quickly, like I'm recovering from it without properly getting it, a sort of whistle stop tour. That'll be the cideeer vinegeerrr

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 11:30

sorry what was the chanting for..

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 11:31

so how much cider vinegar do you inbibe? and how? I have heard of it's mircaulous properties before...

Boco · 26/11/2007 11:33

MrsC, wasn't that accent more Pakistani than Somerset?
When shall we go to Pulse? I could get a lift to the train station quite early one weekday - i'd have dd2 with me.

MrsCarrot · 26/11/2007 11:34

I drink a little in with vit c and echinacea toddy/juice and gargle it in with sage salt and warm water. Kills the virus where it multiplies in the back of the throat apparently. Drinking it really helps with energy too.

I don't think you should have vinegars with candida/yeast problems though as they are fermented. I suppose you could weigh up the pro's and cons.

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 11:34

I'm chating up a guy on msn..he is hard work

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 11:36

where can one buy cider vinegar?

MrsCarrot · 26/11/2007 11:36

Could go this week, maybe Wednesday or Thursday, or next week...

MrsCarrot · 26/11/2007 11:38

Lol Zippi - don't bother then if he's hard work already!

you can get it in any supermarket but I use the unpastuerised stuff from a cider company as it has more enzymes. Good excuse to go and buy some cider anyway.
