For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Luckily i restrained myself from flashing my tummy and back at you all. It's not on my face or arms so that's good, but still itchy all over chest and sides and tummy. It seems to flare up and then get a bit better. It's a bit angry atm but not too bad. Going to go back this week.

lullabyloo · 25/11/2007 13:45

i admire people who can sleep with children in their bed i cpould never do that without being irritable

my weekend of doing my accounts has gone well so far..yesterday i stayed in bed until 11.30 and then faffed around and went to that gross city of brum anbd primark and dd2 had a hangover and was crotchety with the small being and brum was heaving and then i came back and did mn then this morning i have been to the guym mand swim and now i have to try and do the accounts before making a roast for six o'clock

i feel that these accounts will not get done and it will turn out to be some kind of late night fidgetty thing

i have had a big melon slice and muesli as there is not much available and the roast will fatten me up later

boco i never noticed itchy skin or rash was it ok last sunday?

if anyone wants to purchase plastic tat or even tiny wooden things i do sell them you know

Boco · 25/11/2007 15:30

I just put a picture of it on my profile, which i realise lowers my dignity levels to zero, but maybe someone knows what it is? Don't look if you can't 'stomach' it hahahaha. You can't really see it too well as it looks small on there, but it's red spots all over lower tummy, chest, neck sides and tops of my legs and back. Very itchy.

FrannyandZooey · 25/11/2007 15:32

ooh Boco looks itchy and uncomfortable

but look at your teeny tiny waist and flat tummy

MrsCarrot · 25/11/2007 16:31

I can't see the rash picture. Has it gone?

womblingalong · 25/11/2007 16:34

filthymindedvixen · 25/11/2007 17:06

Zips, can you email me a link to your plastic and wooden tat?

BBBee · 25/11/2007 17:17

can't see rash

OverRated · 25/11/2007 17:25

Morning all. Well, afternoon for you. I think I may struggle with my 10/ 10 until I go shopping but don't think I can go before the end of the week . I've managed 3 portions so far & it's not lunchtime yet, so I'll keep working on it.

Am off to make a Mexican lasagne, which will have tons of veg & some beans in it, so hopefully that will bring my count up.

What kind of tat do you have zipi?

Quick question - if I have 2 servings of 1 fruit, does that count as only 1 or 2? I know fruit juice and, I think, beans can only count once but what about real fruit & veg? If I have 2 handfuls of raisins, does that count as 2?

Boco, where's the picture?

am gutted not to see Boco's rash... although her children are excessively beautiful (and dh a hottie).

Boco · 25/11/2007 17:47

Oh i posted it, and wandered off, and then thought oh dear, posting a not very nice picture of my spotty tummy on the internet is actually a freaky thing to do. So i quickly took it down. Shall i put it back? [torn]

FrannyandZooey · 25/11/2007 17:51

yes put it back and this time I can draw attention to the fact that you have nary a stretch mark

OverRated · 25/11/2007 17:51

Yes, put it back on! We all need to see it now

What's the birthday table thingy? I've seen it alluded to but haven't quite grasped what it's all about

Ok it's back.

birthday table for overun - it's explained in first couple of posts

womblingalong · 25/11/2007 18:19

Boco,

Poor you, look very uncomfortable, but am slightly of your lovely flat tummy and slim waist!

I suffer from stress related bad skin & exzema, and find that terying to eat as well as poss, and getting enugh sleep do help. I also find that, if the rash is itchy, abthing it in an anti-pruritic, like balneum plus can help, and then keeping it well moisturised you could try cetraben or diprobase. These are all quite standard medicine treatments, but they work for me, however I am sure somone will be along shortly to give you some more lentilly recomendations.

Hope it gets better soon!

FrannyandZooey · 25/11/2007 18:23

OverRated yes you can count each portion even if they are of the same fruit or whatever. Obviously over the week a variety is preferable for health purposes, but eating what is local and in season may prevent this. Do what you think is best. I know some of us also allow 2 portions juice, 2 portions beans etc, as we are doing 10 instead of 5.

Sweet potatoes are in. Ordinary potatoes are out.

Boco · 25/11/2007 18:25

I think maybe that it is eczema. dr doesnt' think so, but he did think it could be stress. It's driving me nuts at the moment because it feels so nice to scratch, and then it gets really sore and looks horrible. I have some creams and tablets but not doing much. I think that picture is a weird angle so i look like a butternut squash.

FrannyandZooey · 25/11/2007 18:26

You look like a lucky cow with a tiny waist from where I am standing

FrannyandZooey · 25/11/2007 18:26

how do you not scratch? I am sure you didn't scratch in London

Aitch · 25/11/2007 18:38

lol at butternut squash. well, you've been eating enough of them...

zippitippitoes · 25/11/2007 18:39
