For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I wasn't being filthy

you will know when I am

lionheart · 22/11/2007 17:43

You were in the fighting camp.

ahundredtimes · 22/11/2007 18:17

That trip was very exhausting and very jolly.

God, how they talked and larked about. I think I lost concentration and reached saturation point at about the same time as all the 7 y-o boys. The girls and teachers seemed to fare better.

zippitippitoes · 22/11/2007 18:18

U've been on a trip..sounds fun

ahundredtimes · 22/11/2007 18:19

Was a Y3 trip to look and 'feel' egyptian artefacts. I started day dreaming at about 2.00.

filthymindedvixen · 22/11/2007 18:23

You Lllucky, lllucky barstard! Eygyptian artifacts?? I was asked to help on ds's last trip - to a water treatment works

They are going to the theatre next week..have I been asked???

zippitippitoes · 22/11/2007 18:24

makes me think of that scarab thingy in cronos..nothing like that then?

ahundredtimes · 22/11/2007 18:31

There were scarab beetles to be felt yes. Was good actually, there were boxes passed around with things wrapped up in tissue paper and you had to unwrap your box and guess 'what sort of a person would have had things like thiiiis.'

After 2.00 me and the boys just kept saying either 'slave' or 'pharoah' but the ones who were concentrating were saying 'scribe' and 'child' and things.

Was a good trip really. I wouldn't have wanted to go to the water works. I went on one to the canal last year.

ahundredtimes · 22/11/2007 18:33

They do lots of outings, it's a real strength. DS1 went on one to Legoland last year. I managed to avoid the Classical Architecture Walk last year, and the bird spotting Can you imagine me on that one?

zippitippitoes · 22/11/2007 18:33

but they didn't ping open and stab you and turn you into a vampire with eternal youth?

Boco · 22/11/2007 18:35

Last year there was one to the museum of agricultural life to see a horse, a chicken and an old plough. I was so desperate not to go i though i might have slipped into a coma if i'd been made to help.

Boco · 22/11/2007 18:36

The bird spotting one would have been great - i can imagine them all silently in awe as a rare lesser spotted kite landed and you hurl one of your expensive shoes at it.

ahundredtimes · 22/11/2007 18:37

Is that the one in the Asda car park? I was there in the rain in the summer on the way back from Southwold. It said The Museum of something like that. It looked dire.

ahundredtimes · 22/11/2007 18:37

Oh no Zipp, at least I don't think so. They might have done that after 2.00 and I wouldn't have noticed I suppose. Let's see what happens tonight eh?

filthymindedvixen · 22/11/2007 18:38

now that would be a trip worth accompanying Zippi...

Boco, that almost sounds as bad as the water works.

Seriously, why haven't I been asked to the trip to see Joseph next week?

lionheart · 22/11/2007 18:41

Are you going on the nuddy snowcard, Moony?

womblingalong · 22/11/2007 18:44

Eh what's this nuddy snowcard stuff?

womblingalong · 22/11/2007 18:46

Moony,

Can you volunteer to go on the theatre trip?

I am dreading looking forward to school trips when dd and ds are old enough.

filthymindedvixen · 22/11/2007 18:46

Sadly no. DH was egging me on. He is quite sad (he likes fairies. And probably my body.) But it is toooo cold. I really can't afford to end up with pneumonia this close to christmas and the Mad Family Birthday Month.

And dh's friend (well, and my friend too) would have been airbrushing the pix. And that would have been too odd.

I know I will be regretting not doing it. But relieved at the same time IFKWIM.

filthymindedvixen · 22/11/2007 18:49

wombling

erm here you go...

lionheart · 22/11/2007 18:50

It would have been freezing.

MrsCarrot · 22/11/2007 18:53

DH is still in London AGAIN. So annoying.

I have had asparagus (from godknows where), corn on the cob, basil tomato salad and acai berry smoothie. Lunch was mackeral with bean and olive salad and homemade red cabbage/apple/onion/carrot/beetroot salad.
That is a lot of salad for a cold day. Tomorrow I will have soup I think.

DD was very upset when she came out of school as her 'friend', the one we've had meanness from before, was rubbing her wart on DD and telling her she would grow one. Not only that, she said mum has to scrub at it and it hurts so much you scream. She was quite inconsolable at one point and would not believe me that she wouldn't catch it. Not quite sure what to do about it, might speak to the teacher rather than girl's mum or do you think I'm overreacting like other friend implied I was?

filthymindedvixen · 22/11/2007 18:54

I know! But I loved the idea of doing something so silly. And I was in good company (I wouldn't have been the oldest there)

ohwhoever · 22/11/2007 18:55

MrsC no I don't think you are overreacting

this is nasty meanness and also rather odd

I think school should deal with it - it is happening in school time

ohwhoever · 22/11/2007 18:55

do you like my cunning name change?
