For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hello have had my oats and I am raring to go

this is the biggest lie I feel dreadful

never mind I am very excited because I have been invited for my first game of Scrabble ever

last night we had quinoa for the first time, with dhal. Mum liked the quinoa (I was ambivalent tbh) which is very since she likes meat and 2 veg. The dhal was vile tho - I don't know if it was because the water had been turned off by workmen earlier in the day and I hadn't run it for long enough

but it was very sad because I love dhal and it was horrid. And I had made extra in the slow cooker to freeze

Hello. I can't keep up with the thread. No stamina, you see.

Am eating apples and clementines.

Come and get a muppet name, g'wan, you know you want to.

Hunker x

F&Z, because I am shy and insecure and was meeting a load of people for the first time (including the girl I was staying with on Sat night) so I didn't want to look too scruffy or hippy. OK? So I dressed more conservatively than I normally do.
You can all roll your eyes at me now and think how pathetic.

MrsCarrot · 22/11/2007 10:04

Well, I thought you looked lovely and friendly and came across as the most confident peron there IMO, and anyway, integrity was not lost, there was a dangley half moon wasn't there?

fullmoonfiend · 22/11/2007 10:12

MrsC, I think I love you!
I was so nervous, I spent the first 20 minutes contemplating running away/bursting into tears or doing the washing up!

ahundredtimes · 22/11/2007 10:51

There's been a lot of Working Through about this meet up hasn't there?

Am going on Y3 school trip today. Wish me luck.

Happy birthday baby Idris.

Have eaten a mango, 2 satsumas, 1 banana so far.

frothykindofadrink · 22/11/2007 10:59

yes 100x it is like post-traumatic stress counselling

any two-bit counsellor will tell you when you've had a shocking event in your life you have to replay it over and over again

fullmoonfiend · 22/11/2007 11:01

just ignore me - i have just noticed it is nearly full moon which means I am PMTish and will explain why I am sitting here with a tear plopping slowly down my cheek and a terrible urge for jaffa cakes. A whole packet.

I wasn't meaning to call you pathetic or anything, FMF, I'm sorry if it upset you. I just didn't get it. I didn't think we were exactly a staid bunch or likely to disapprove of jangling, or anything like that.

Lunch at friend's was fine, except I was starving and ate more than everyone else which always makes me feel a bit self-conscious (yes I know no-one else probably noticed). For some reason it always seems like bad manners to ask for more food or even to be hungry and eat lots. Something weird from my childhoos probably.

Oh and as we were leaving friend's house, another friend was arriving to visit them, and she was convinced ds was a girl and kept correcting friend's ds when he said "he". My friend was embarrassed I think, so I had to keep pretending I hadn't noticed, and tried to leave in a great flurry of coats and things so I didn't hear at all that this woman was saying "you mean SHE, ha ha ha"

IdrisTheDragon · 22/11/2007 16:19

DS and I had a lovely time in London . He has been having a lovely birthday in general .

It has gone dark. There is a card from the postmasn saying he has a parcel. I think we will go and get it.

IdrisTheDragon · 22/11/2007 16:20

Hello Franny .

IdrisTheDragon · 22/11/2007 16:21

I hope avi's morning went all right and that her DH got his flight.

FrannyandZooey · 22/11/2007 16:23

yes but look on the bright side, if they DO get a divorce

hello Idris!

IdrisTheDragon · 22/11/2007 16:25

Franny, that is not good of you

IdrisTheDragon · 22/11/2007 16:25

We have loads of jaffa cakes here. There was an offer. And DS has his party on Saturday .

FrannyandZooey · 22/11/2007 16:26

I didn't say it!

anyway Lully was thinking the same thing
