For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

How's it going, Lully? Fancy a chip?

SauerKraut · 18/11/2007 11:57

Shall we start our puppet show and make them all eat nowt but chard soup instead of cake?

frothykindofadrink · 18/11/2007 11:58

I can make them my famous Vile Kale Soup

SauerKraut · 18/11/2007 11:59

Yes, that's the one! Now, what shall they talkabout?

SauerKraut · 18/11/2007 12:00

or even talk about...

lullabyloo · 18/11/2007 12:01

dh came home & went to bed
ds is hot, sick, exhausted, weepy & bad tempered
I have a mountain of horrid washing to do,bedlinen to iron, beds to make
....& & &

frothykindofadrink · 18/11/2007 12:02

I think we should have such good time without us that they think their meet-up was boring

it is beyond sad that we need to create puppets to entertain us when they are gone

frothykindofadrink · 18/11/2007 12:02

oh lullaby

here, have some lemsip with a slug of whisky in

lullabyloo · 18/11/2007 12:03

Pop over here for a spot of weekend skiing, you and ds can recover in one of those sanatorium thingies, Lully, while Froth, Possum and I hit the slopes...

VegetatingPossum · 18/11/2007 12:27

Monster Munch anyone? Pickled Onion flavour?

frothykindofadrink · 18/11/2007 12:32

Oh I am not really well enough for skiing yet

however I can sit in a chalet wearing big jumpers and drinking stuff

I understand that is part of the package?

SauerKraut · 18/11/2007 12:40

Absolutely! (So I'm told, anyway). And of course, eating plenty of stuff. Schnitzels and whathaveyou. With chips. And the cocktail dresses will come in handy for all those après-ski dos.

lullabyloo · 18/11/2007 12:42

sounds good to me

pineapple.....& pickled onion monster munch were my pg cravings...eaten together.
I have omitted to mention the monster munch before

when I was 3 months pg we went to friends in Devon for Christmas & I was adament I didn't want them, especially ex knowing.However....my eating habits were so weird & I would cajole dh into driving around villages at midnight searching everywhere for monster munch.....didn't take everyone long to suss

VegetatingPossum · 18/11/2007 13:02

I love skiing, it is so exhilerating and you don't realise that you're burning masses of calories because you're having so much fun, then you can go and eat heaps of fondue and not feel at all guilty. (Mmmm, fondue, probably another 10-10 forbidden food).

Actually, I am hopeless at insubordination and having onion, chickpea & sweetcorn stew with brown basmati rice for lunch.

[goody two shoes emoticon]

SauerKraut · 18/11/2007 13:07

That does sound nice! My life is one big 10/10 insubordination at the moment, so I've just been to the farm shop for some smoked sausage which I would have had in a sarnie withe oodles of mayonnaise and mustard but some bs got there first. Gah.

frothykindofadrink · 18/11/2007 15:14

mmm I have had a lovely lunch out with dh and kids (well kids were living nightmare but we eventually just ignored them)

smoked salmon and crayfish salad, and then roast guinea fowl and veg - mmm mmm

we never go out for lunch so was big treat - also my first foray outside of the house for days. I got dressed and everything

now dh has taken them to museum so I can have a lie down

I have never been skiing you know, apart from a trip to a dry ski slope once as a student which was a bit of a disaster. I always wonder if it is really fun - I'm not much of an action girl. Now that I'm ill I have started fancying all kinds of things I never usually want to do like rock-climbing (inside of course!) - I bet that as soon as I'm well enough to do them I'll go right off the idea again

lullabyloo · 18/11/2007 15:43

lol....maybe it's because I'm ill..but I'm fancying a dh swap

one who takes ds to the museum....for one who lies in bed all day coughing & groaning & demanding tea & sandwiches

what do you think?
swap?

frothykindofadrink · 18/11/2007 15:46

no

no

and no again
