For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 14:28

I shall now be parasnoid abouit the local footpaths

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 14:29

LOL. Ask Franny.

Did you answer to my question about this pair of pink suede boots sized 7F? Do you want them?

OP posts:
TooTicky · 13/11/2007 14:29

And indeed about my typing

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 14:30

Oh, yes please
Not that they'd fit for a year or so, but she'd love them.

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 14:32

Dd1 is batthing with a Pascal's triangle. I am not letting her use a calculator. She mentioned 46thousand and something just now

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 14:33

Good. Send me your address.

Also have numerous pairs of boys trainers, do you want those? Not sure on sizes, I'll go and check. And rather worn I'm afraid, but might do as just in case? Probably sizes 8,9,10,11 or so.

Also some doodles, size 7. I'll bundle them up for you. Let me know re the trainers.

Various of us are on the sofa. Under a duvet. It is lovely and snug

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 14:41

Ds is being very heuristic all over the living room. Today he has some pieces of wood, cocktail sticks, a big pot of pennies, some gold Christmas string, and several rolls of tape. He can mess about like this for hours, making up songs as he goes. He is singing "I am digging through the earth's crust, I am digging through the earth's crust"

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 14:41

DD1 is brilliantly clever as well has having an oh so straight stare.

I look forward to getting your email in 2008 TooT.

IdrisTheDragon · 13/11/2007 14:42

We nearly fell asleep.

I have been getting larger .

TooT, what size shoes do your DC have? We have many shoes, girl and boy (mostly from ebay) that keep getting grown out of. More girl than boy. Girl mostly 5F and 6F I think.

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 14:43

lol at Franny's ds1. My dd is like this, I don't call it heuristic play of course, oh no, I call it infurtiating. She keeps using string all over the place, and making mazes and arranging things on the floor.

Under the table in the sitting-room yesterday, i found: a watering can, a tennis ball, four bits of string tied together, two bits of wood, some random bits of metal from the cellar, a snail and lots of balls of sellotape.

She sits in a cupboard in the kitchen dd, too. Have I ever told you that? She eats in there sometimes.

I am also playing my BIL at S%£"&*^le. He has a bit of a reputation as a Scrabble fiend so there is a lot at stake. He was 70 points ahead as we reached the end game but I just managed to score 54 points with TAX on a triple letter score (simultaneously making "AX" and "TEE") so it is getting a bit nailbiting

yes it is fucking sad that I think you might be interested in this

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 14:45

Oh Idris, dd2 is a 5f atm....

100x, I have emailed

Franny, there is a lovely book about what is below the earth's crust or something - can't think what it is called or who by but I remember wishing I'd seen it when ds1 was a little younger. I fondled it in the bookshop. Something about a hole maybe?

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 14:45

100 she is heuristic genius

probably gifted in fact

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 14:47

I just bought a second hand book about a magic school bus that goes beneath the earth's crust. It is very odd and quite funny. the teacher is called Ms Frizzle and wears dresses with eg pterodactyls on. At one point the book says "Ms Frizzle's dress was a trip in itself".

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 14:47

100x, dd1 went through a string phase. I kept finding things tied together. I spent hours disentangling things.

Franny

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 14:48

There is a series of Magic School Bus books. Television programmes also.

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 14:49

lol @ Mrs frizzle's dress

and

at being in the heuristic G&T programme.

She uses skipping ropes a lot too. In her room, and she takes everything apart and and and and - can we have extension work please?

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 14:50

I mean she doesn't skip with the ropes, she ties them around the door handle and the end of her bed, and then she drapes things over them and she nabbed a broken chopping board too, and that's there with all sorts of RUBBISH, which is being used.

i found a hammer in her bed once.

OP posts:
lionheart · 13/11/2007 14:52

Have you seen my thread on the G&T thing? I am still .

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 14:54

my god 100 they must never meet

ds ties skipping ropes around the stair banisters and then knots them elaborately so you can't use the stairs

he also has a 100 foot rope which was a REAL mistake to let him get hold of. This emerges out of windows and the other end is found in a completely different part of the house, having presumably gone over the roof or something
