For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooT I will investigate what we have .

My email address is idristhedragon31 at gmail dot com if you want to email me.

lionheart · 13/11/2007 14:58

I have got DS one of these for his birthday.

It is making me slightly nervouse but he asked and asked about it for ages.

lionheart · 13/11/2007 14:59

Tell me it is a good thing just like the fire pit stuff.

frothykindofadrink · 13/11/2007 14:59

I am crap at free rice

it's a jolly good job I don't have anyone to play scrabble with

lionheart · 13/11/2007 15:00

Where are they?

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 15:02

Lionheart it is fab and exactly what ds wants, but I am not getting it yet because I am so crap and lazy about supervising and he would saw his arm off and nail it to the floor while I was on here

so we have got this one instead so he can hammer and stuff but hopefully not sever any limbs

I didn't see the G+T thing - can you link?

lionheart · 13/11/2007 15:05

I got the other one as a back up, Franny.

lionheart · 13/11/2007 15:06

Here it is

gizmo · 13/11/2007 15:06

I am laughing with you, string victims. DS also ties down random bits of furniture when given the chance (I expect he's worried it will fly away). Generally he is making 'a camp' or 'a spy trap'. In both cases these will be top secret and, because I am a security risk, he cannot tell me any more.

He's probably worked out I'll just post the details here if he does.

He also had the most magnificent time on Sunday with a pot of bicarbonate of soda, the biggest bottle of vinegar Asda sells and some red and black food colouring. So thank you Franny for that idea.

Lully, don't panic about donkey costume: grey or brown fleece, grey or brown trousers and this mask printed on some stiff card. Bob's your uncle!

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 15:08

How old is he lionheart? I think it would be fine for most children, with supervision. As I say, we are not very good at that bit and ds would always be saying "let's get out my woodwork set!" and I would be thinking "oh god, not again"

lionheart · 13/11/2007 15:09

He will be six.

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 15:10

Oh Franny. That looks good. I might get it for dd.

She's the only girl who goes to construction club at school.

lionheart · 13/11/2007 15:10

His uncle taught him soldering when we were away on holiday. No injuries.

lionheart · 13/11/2007 15:11

Construction club sounds ace.

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 15:12

Yes I thought 6 would be about right for ds to have it. I like the Mulberry bush website btw, they have lots of nice things on there. I keep meaning to show you all.

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 15:13

Gizmo I am pleased to see I am spreading the forces of chaos and disorder in other people's houses, without leaving the comfort of my own sofa

gizmo · 13/11/2007 15:14

Lionheart that looks lovely. Very nice website too...maybe I can wean myself off FreeRice using it. It'll be expensive but worth it.

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 15:16

Yes, construction club is ace. And they only use wooden blocks (well so far anyway) and they do marvellous things. Last week they did Bath! It was great. And dd did the hospital. She was very proud.

Any toy theatres on there Franny? I'm still looking for ds2's christmas present. Must be good, and complex BUT not too fiddly because his fingers are crap and he'll get cross. It's hard. Perhaps I could persuade dd to make him one with her christmas present.

I'm going to peruse mulberry. Oh no, I'm not. I'm going to school and the greengrocers.

OP posts:
gizmo · 13/11/2007 15:19

Yes, Franny.

More accurately you are spreading the forces of chaos and disorder down my drain (I left DS1 freezing outside with his experiments - the food colouring + 13 month old combo inside would have been too much for my nerves).

Inadvertantly you have also inspired further Dark Forces when DH came home, found what DS was doing and decided to show him what happens when you add some water to a soluble paracetamol in a sealed container.

BANG!

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 15:20

Yes a lovely magnetic toy theatre. probably others too.

Something tragic just happened with the game with my BIL. I knew he had the Q, and I knew he was probably going to put it in a certain place to play QI, and I could have made RIZ and QI on a double letter score and got 46 points, but I didn't think of it, so I used my R on something else, and lost.

Ok you can wake up again now.

frothykindofadrink · 13/11/2007 15:20

lionheart here they are

so pretty

They are running Christmas episodes at present so they are always prettily dressed in their best pretty shirts with ties and everything

oh and there is Smallville too lots of pretty there too

such a range of talent for the health challenged recluse - dark and geeky, dark and strong, blond and muscled, bald - the whole shebang

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 15:22

please reserve dark and geeky for me

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 15:31

Thanks Idris, I will email

Lionheart, dd1 has one of those. The tools are not as effective as they could be - some are better than others. It's a nice sort of present to get though.

I forgot it was ds2's club today. I drove up because dd2 was sleepy and have brought ds1 back and will have to drive up again [bad mummy] But it is cold and windy and tomorrow we will be walking milers again.

frothykindofadrink · 13/11/2007 15:34

oh fine yes franny there is loads of choice

Dark and Geeky it is for you

who wants More Mature With Heavy Eyebrows?
