For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Avi do you think there is anything to be gained by speaking to them about it? I mean they sound completely unreasonable in the past, eg the fire thing. Do you think if you speak to them they will come round and clear up, or will it just escalate matters? Or do you just need to get it off your chest? Do they do other annoying things or is this the big one? I think it would be fine to go and dump it all over their fence, yes. But you sound like you want to do something else.

Oh and I can see it is upsetting / annoying that ds was scared, but I think you have to let that one go. There just ARE fireworks at this time of year and although many people do not like them, it is a tradition in this country and I don't think in this instance you can expect your neighbours not to celebrate it even though it disturbs you. Just my opinion.

and sorry about laughing AGAIN at the rape of the oceans thing. it is the phrase not the concept that makes me do these anti social snorts

It was nice actually, the mango was just right. Sorry

We are coming back on Friday, quite late probably. I may check in here but it might be Saturday. The Eurostar goes at 9am tomorrow so we have a hotel near Waterloo. My nerves can't take watching the clock on the M11 if there's any traffic.

I should be packing now. I am procrastinating really. I will sound like 100x in a minute and have a mad hunt for a sandal. Well, a boot anyway.

MrsCarrot · 05/11/2007 09:29

Hi Avi -that sounds really stressful. I don't think our new neighbours were very pleased when we had fireworks last year. I also noticed about a month later that they still had a rocket dangling down from a tree. I did apologise though.

FrannyandZooey · 05/11/2007 10:25

Yes I think they should have mentioned it to you, and also the size of the display sounds completely ridiculous for a private house but there you go

how do you see things going if you speak to them about it?

I think the oceans must have still been on my conscience esp after bleach incident

(TooT I normally put bleach in toilets on Monday mornings have not done so today, am looking stealthily at bottle)

Good morning, the title is very good!

I'm thinking about running off to an island - maybe Avi Island, or a nearby island that doesn't have the rude neighbours. I'm very tired and unreasonable today and feel like doing throwing and stamping.

We got 5 phone calls in the middle of the night each time stopping just before i got there, and number withheld. Started at midnight, went on until 1am. I then lay away wondering if someone had died for hours. For the rest of the night dp kicked and punched and occasionally roared.

Early this morning found out it had been the police, wanting to bring over my sister and her 4 month old baby. She (sister) has some learning difficulties and although she copes well, is unpredictable and not always rational. She went to a party with the baby, got horrendously drunk, came home and had a fight with her partner, dropped the baby, called an ambulance, and the police came. They wouldn't let her stay with her partner as she was still fighting with him - so insisted she come to me so i supervise and take care of the baby. In the end they got hold of my mum and took her there. Social services have been informed, she's wanting to leave her partner and live on her own with 2 year old and baby, which is the worst thing she could do. When in a state though she's totally unstoppable. She doesn't drink as she's fully bfing, and apparently she was totally hammered. My mum said she got out of the police car looking like Amy Winehouse. Oh gawd. Baby is fine.

FrannyandZooey · 05/11/2007 10:41

Oh Boco. Bloody hell.

oh bloody hell Boco

Poor girl. Poor you!

MrsCarrot · 05/11/2007 11:13

Blimey - what a strain. Boco, you poor thing, there's so much going on for you atm. I will think of you when I'm in tinkle sparkle la la land. Actually I quite like the peter pan ride, looking down at the lit up houses. But then I will think of Gt Ormond street. Dammit. This will be a yo-yo type trip I think. I know I will not buy any Winnie-the-Pooh socks though. There are a lot of those.

fullmoonfiend · 05/11/2007 11:24

Beware - winnie the pooh or Goofy socks are exactly the sort of thing your children will find amusing to buy you for christmas...

ahundredtimes · 05/11/2007 11:46

Oooh have a lovely time MrsC. I bet you will. I liked the Peter Pan ride. Dh started fights with people there though, but we all ignored him and had a lovely time.

Boco - sorry, ruddy hell as Franny might say. Where is sister and baby now? At your Mum's still? Are they coming to yours? Oh and did you and dp make any progress with the sleep disorder people?

There's a thread about someone having a dream about Cod. I had a dream about Franny the other night, I haven't told you. Do you want to know what happened? Is it a bit stalkery and weird? There was a cafe with tables up the sides of the hills, and your parents ran it, and we all had to wait on tables, and everyone was in a terrible state and you kept running about with trays and shouting at me. Oh and there was a farmyard too.

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 11:46

oh Boco...you poor thing...things are rotten at the moment,I'm so sorry.

Strawberries,raspberries,blueberries,banana

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 11:47

oooooooooooh 100...you've been too.........i need to know all there is to know

ahundredtimes · 05/11/2007 11:48

Well my top tip is not to go with my DH.

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 11:49

100...that is hilarious

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 11:50

100......oh darn....really?
I guess I'll have to take my dh after all

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 11:51

how long a stay do you think
2 nights? 3?
which hotel?????

ahundredtimes · 05/11/2007 11:55

Well I would say two nights tops, otherwise you'll go mad and start fights too.

We stayed in the Young Explorers Hotel, which was a bus ride from the park. There was a swimming pool and a pirate ship - we just plumped for that one for no good reason. The hotel's are fine but not great. We didn't spend much time in the hotel. You might like the pink frothy one by the park, especially as your ds is quite small still isn't he? Mine were 8,6,4 when we went I think, and dd (4) definitely got tired by the afternoon. DS's didn't. We went in March, and hardly had to queue at all.

Oh dear, I'm not an expert though Lully.

ahundredtimes · 05/11/2007 11:56

Lully, I don't how to break this to you, but the food is AWFUL. Beyond DIABOLICAL.

I need you to know this.

ahundredtimes · 05/11/2007 12:04

Though if you're just going to Eurodisney, maybe three nights makes more sense? We combined with a stay in Paris too. How old is ds? Sorry, I forget everything. He won't be able to do all the rides if he's small, like I think he is, so maybe two nights is better.

Can you hear me thinking Lully? I am trying very hard.

MrsCarrot · 05/11/2007 12:09

We are going for three nights, gives us two whole days in the park, one for the rides and shows, one for the studio stuff.

Re the food. I am taking a LOT of oatcakes.
