For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

have a lovely time mrs c......I shall wait eagerly for your return & tales & photographic evidence etc

ahundredtimes · 05/11/2007 14:59

I heart the way you all thank each other after a scrabble match. It's like Wimbledon. I know you're all gritting your teeth though and offering limp handshakes and scurrying off to plan for the re-match.

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 15:01

I ate some chips at the fireworks the other night....everyone was suitably and kind of ....but I was tired & faced with cheese burgers, hot dogs & general greasy fayre...chips seemed highly nutritious & delicious in comparison.

Boco · 05/11/2007 15:01

I've given up scrabble. I got scrabblers vacuum - whole chunks of my life vanished and my children never had clean socks. It's better now.

Tacky as it is, I would love to go to Eurodisney although being a Blackpool lass it would actually be a step up

Idris, I have to admit that I thought your veg was grey... a little overcooked perhaps

We have been mainly eating pumpkin soup. One largish pumpkin makes a lot of soup.

This thread is pretty prolific isn't it? Having problems keeping up [sigh]

ahundredtimes · 05/11/2007 17:45

It went all cold didn't it?

I am saved. There is a display in town tonight. We are going to that. Phew. Also a neighbour rang to say there is a display on the allotments if we want to go. Am torn. I am on a waiting list for an allotment. It is something I think I OUGHT to do, but am between you and me am v. pleased it is a looooong list.
Also I was with dd when we talked to the woman about it, and she looked me up and down and then said to dd 'Well at least you look like a gardener.'

Town display then, with 'food and novelties' apparantly.

littlerach · 05/11/2007 18:04

Novelties sound interesting, 100!

We are off to a display in the next village. But dd1 has rainbows, and had to go to find out which part she s in the variety show on Saturday.
So we made plans to drive and pick her up, then leave the car and walk to the dispaly. But dd1 then protested becasue we will miss the Entertainment. Which is a Good Thing

Lots of soup agaian - leek and potato for lunch, then a quick bowl of soemthing I put togethe rearlier flavour (sweet pot, onion, leek, carrot and chilli). was very bright orange.

Not really 10 though.

Sob. Am i allowed to stay still?
