For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh my....heating on full blast for ages here
mind you...it is deepest,darkest,coldest Kent

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 20:53

I am most displeased.....the day before meet up I have to go to the pits of the earth that is Bognor & see pits of the earth in laws >
you'd think with a family like mine I could at least have inherited some decent in laws >

why do in laws have birthdays? Why are we the only family that are brave/mad enough to visit?
I shall have to scout around for presents & bake cake...>

can anyone tell that I'm tired & grumpy or am I disguising it well?

IdrisTheDragon · 05/11/2007 21:02

FrannyandZooey · 05/11/2007 21:40

I have little sympathy for someone complaining about going there for the afternoon

pinkspottywellies · 05/11/2007 21:41

Hello Fab thread title!

Didn't have breakfast cos I was too busy making cake, had salad garnish with sandwich at farm park cafe, then made butternut squash and pea risotto for tea. Must eat fruit tonight.

Hope all are well

IdrisTheDragon · 05/11/2007 21:43

Sadly not alight, but made me smile anyway .

FrannyandZooey · 05/11/2007 21:46

oh darn it

that is a bit sad though really

sending someone a used up glowstick I guess it went off in the post by getting banged about, and wore off en route?

LOL we once sent my MIL a hand made musical card (got those little thingies you stick in, so it played "we wish you a merry christmas" when you opened it)

it was defective, arrived playing the tune and would not stop for 3 days until the batteries ran out

Do I maybe need to shake them about a bit more do you think?

FrannyandZooey · 05/11/2007 21:52

no, did you try bending them so they crunch? if they have already been set off (as I suspect) nothing will happen, but by the one in a million chance they haven't. they will start to glow

FrayedKnot · 05/11/2007 22:12

I like kevin Spacey too, glad you are enjoying

I've never been to Bognor but it always sounds er...a bit old fashioned

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 22:12

18 years!!!!!!!!!!!! omg
you are made of sturdy stuff indeed
it's greyness makes me shudder

lullabyloo · 05/11/2007 22:13

i heart kevin spacey too

FrayedKnot · 05/11/2007 22:16

Oh sorry O forgot the title is faberooney. If we don;t get extra members from that title I'll eat my fleecy blanket.

Now I'm off to bed via the kitchen...still haven;t had that fruit

TooTicky · 05/11/2007 22:48

Are Boco's photos okay?

Hugs and kisses to everybody

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 08:13

Boco any news on your sister?

B*^$£r is worse then grey, and worse than old-fashioned. In fact it is too bad to speak about, really. I left as soon as I could and never went back to live there. It is really nice where we are now. But parts of Sussex are lovely, and I love the Downs.

Do we all heart Kevin Spacey? Shall he be the 10/10 pin up? He is gay but very private about it, isn't he, is that right? Dp didn't really know anything about him and while watching the film said quietly, almost to himself, "he is quite sexy, isn't he?" Am racking brains to remember if in book there is part where Kevin Spacey character and John Cusack character get it on. Sadly I think NOT.

Quakes at F&Z'z stern voice, but passes cake anyway.

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 08:15

Have eaten apple, pears, orange, grapes, raisins, oats, seeds, soya milk

am going to the doctor this morning. Can't remember what happens next. May start a thread but I may be accused of attention seeking

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 08:16

pinkspottywellies · 06/11/2007 08:31

Morning Franny, I would be delighted to see a thread about your doctor's appt I suspect there may still be some people in the greater mumsnet region who know not of your happy situation.

Had plums on my porridge and have in front of me apple, kiwi and orange juice.

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 08:34

Morning .

I answered your doctor's thread Franny .

Muesli eaten. About to have fruit salad (at work again. But after today no work until next Wednesday and it will be on Dublin and I have to go on a plane to get there).

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 08:35

Will try cracking the glow sticks when I get home.

hunkermunker · 06/11/2007 08:47

I love the title of this thread. I can't say enough nice things about whoever comes up with the 10/10 thread titles. They are truly superb.

I haven't eaten anything yet though, so will bugger off. However, I have fruity/veg plans for today, including tomatoes, avocadoes, strawberries, kiwi, grapes, coleslaw (does that count?) and other random leafy stuff. Plus maybe a smoothie.

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 08:53

Hunker, it is ALL OF US fruit and veg makes you Good At Punning you know

love the way I started a different thread to avoid boring you all on here about my appointment, and the only people who answered were Idris and Pink

hunkermunker · 06/11/2007 09:00

Didn't see your other thread, Franny - how are you?

You are all very clever blighters then, with your F&V punnery.
