For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hi, TT, I have been hiding and lurking, entertaining visitors with an early Halloween party while trying to sort out conflicting advice on dd1 by finding out something about psychiatry and psychotherapy, which needs a massive suppression of !
I saw your party went well, I meant to sign in on Oct 24th to say happy birthday to ds2. How was the dalek in the end? And you have an oven?

ghoulmoonfiend · 29/10/2007 14:02

Can I be a Fairy Oddmother?

FrannyandZooey · 29/10/2007 16:20

Congratulations Franny

I did wonder, but then you mentioned you were boiling your mooncup - your sneaky thing

I told lots of people when I was 5 weeks because I had IVF and they all wanted to know if it had worked...then it seemed ages to that 3 month point which a lot of people wait until, and I couldn;t imagine how anyone could keep it to themsleves for that long especially when feeling sick

Oh you are so lucky you don;t get sick Well at least I hope you don;t suddenly this time..

I'm just off to carve our pumpkin - unfortunately it ahs started going a bit mouldy for some reason so it will have one very large eye I think

I hope the interior of it isn't mouldy as I'm planning to raost some of it tonight

Bocoreepy · 29/10/2007 16:58

Ohhh dd1 is ill again. [kerdunk]
MrsC please don't be alarmed and not want to see us again. Back to emergency dr again in an hour.

littlerach · 29/10/2007 17:16

LittleDrachula?

FrannyandZooey · 29/10/2007 19:26

That's a good name FMF

Ah well I wasn't trying to be sneaky, I really was feeling quite grumpy and also craving junk food so I felt pretty certain my period was about to start. Plus it was full moon, so I was getting ready. Then the grumpiness went away.....

I must stop taking over this thread rabbiting about it, anyway. Thank you all for kind words.

FrannyandZooey · 29/10/2007 19:27

Oh

this may change the subject a little

I have been to the circus and the clown got me in the ring and I had to dance like a showgirl with a big feather headdress on

I don't think it did my blood pressure any favours

FrayedKnot · 29/10/2007 19:28

TooTicky · 29/10/2007 20:56

Dd2 has had earache but now she is sleeping in my lap. No sudden noises please.

SK Good luck with sorting out the conflicting advice and finding the right path for you and dd.
Yes, we have an oven!
And the dalek is on my profile.

LittleRach, you MUST be near us. You keep mentioning places I know. We're in west Wilts.

Franny, peanut butter is fine, but I'd make sure it's organic.

TooTicky · 29/10/2007 20:59

Boco, hope your dd feels better soon!

TooTicky · 29/10/2007 21:00

Am off to bed with dcs. Night all

MrScarRot · 29/10/2007 22:04

I added a post earlier and it's not here

Anyway, upshot was, how is DD after the doctor, Boco, is she very ill? Poor thing.

Toot - hope the ear improves too.

IdrisTheDragon · 30/10/2007 08:29

womblingalong · 30/10/2007 08:31

hello,

i am having a morning of dentist too Idris, although wil be giving dentist a stern talking too, as my tooth still hurts & I have some residua numbness in my jaw. hope your visit isn't too painful.

IdrisTheDragon · 30/10/2007 08:36

Mine is with the hygenist so won't be too bad.

Hope yours is all right wombling.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 08:53

Good morning and good wishes for everyone with dentists hygienists and doctors and earaches

I must admit being slightly disappointed that my revelation about having to dance like Kylie Minogue in the circus ring went down like a lead balloon, but I understand you probably lead more exciting lives than me and do this kind of thing all the time

I have eaten 1 pear, 1.5 apples, melon, raisins, oats, soya milk, and a big fat vitamin thing. It's a bright cold day here, looks lovely.

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 08:54

Goodness, yesterday was quiet.

Boco, how is dd?

Good luck to anybody going to the dentist

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 08:55

No Franny, I just assumed you did things like that all the time

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 08:56

I have eaten leftover chard, broccoli and carrot.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 08:57

where is Boco? She didn't come back to her thread after seeing the doctor. From which I am presuming all sorts of terrible things. Has anyone heard anything?
